6 years post surgery, stuck, get band "loosened"?
Sally Pearl replied to harmar's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
This sounds just like me after 3 years of surgery. I feel that the healthy food I struggle to eat, hardly ever eat while fruit like I used to. Instead turn to sliders and eat ice cream, milk shake and chocolate. I think I am going to have an unfollow so that I can tolerate these foods again. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

I feel so frustrated with myself, and disappointed. I have let sugar creep back into my life and it feels worse than ever. If it's not chocolate I crave its mints or any other sweets. It is jeopardising my success and my weight has slowly crept up over the past few months. It started when I became very stressed and just couldn't eat, the only thing I enjoyed was chocolate and sucking sweets. It's been the slippery slope! I think I will need to cut them out of my life. Anyone else experienced this ? I feel I need support ????
-
I feel the same. Everything can feel ok, then I can become stressed and I can hardly eat. I needed fluid out of my band recently because of severe stress reaction. Each day can be so different, but what I am not aware of sometimes is reverting to slider foods, so I need to be more self aware. One thing I do realise is its all a learning journey

I have noticed that I have recently started having headaches when I am eating and afterwards. Has anyone else experienced this??

EASY WAY OUT, MY @$$
Sally Pearl replied to HealthyNewMe's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
So true, all of these comments. The trouble is that some people are just pure ignorant! I was trying to explain to someone the other day about how the band works, and he said to me "well it's simple really you just need to eat the right food and much smaller portions just 3 times a day, I can do that!" I could have literally kicked him where it hurt" but I retorted " well you are obviously a rare breed, because there are very few people who can do that, and I for one needed something to help me". Pure ignorance!!!!!! -

You ate too quickly and didn't allow the food to go through your band because of this. Also you felt stressed which can tighten the band. You may have experienced some sliming, which is a saliva build up in your mouth This can happen if you eat too quickly or don't chew enough. Relax and it should go away. Your stomach will be still be swollen so early on so look after yourself and take care. You should be fine ❤️

I have been struggling recently and was feeling down about my weight loss. But I came on this forum and it has helped me get back on track. There is always someone on here who is experiencing something similar to you, so you never feel on your own. My problem was I wasn't using my lap band tool properly and was eating around it. It had been a gradual thing and I realised I was eating slider foods I am back on track now without causing too much damage! Thank you so much to the wonderful people on here who are willing to share. ❤️????????????

Is there a Cure for Stubborness and Bad Habits?
Sally Pearl replied to DebraSV's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have found these comments so useful. I too eat too quickly sometimes and don't chew properly and have got stuck which makes me feel like I am dying!! I am at a place now where I am being tempted by so many things and feel guilty, I am starting to get those dieting feelings back which scare me a little. I think I may be ready for a fill, as I think about food all the time again. This is certainly a journey, but getting the support on here really helps -
Hi I also has my surgery at Dolan Park last August 2013 I live in Shrewsbury which is about 60 miles from Manchester. I would be interested in a support group. I have lost 4 and a half stone and feel great. Best thing I have ever done

Hi Indigo It's good to know that there is someone from GB. I live in England, but my husbands family are from Scotland, our surname is Jamieson, and they have got their own Gunn tartan. Happy New Year, let's hope it's a good one
