Is Keto basically a new age name for the Atkins diet? It sounds awfully familiar, high fat low carb, body in ketosis.....

Healing quickly
Christina.Rose replied to michellevsg's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was on full liquids 2 weeks, puree 2 weeks, and soft meat (i.e. moist chicken) week 5. Just depending on the surgeons orders. Some people have IMO sadistic doctors who say liquids for a whole month before puree and others are cleared to eat puree day 3. I have the same concern as you, I believe though. I wonder how I can drink without nausea or eat without pain etc. Why are others having so many issues? Idk. But I do get full fast and it lasts a long time so maybe we are lucky? Listen to your doctor. Everyone's different. -
Talk to your doctor. There may be particles left in your staple line that can cause leaks and be very dangerous. It's not cheating post op, it's physically dangerous for your health.

I'm done with those protein bars, they all taste nasty
Christina.Rose replied to Ondrea Tye's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I have never had a protein bar that didn't leave that disgusting after taste. I agree with you 100%. Unless I'm trapped inside a giant protein bar and would die otherwise I will not eat them. Gross -
Extreme Pain in the Roof of your Mouth with first meal
Christina.Rose replied to Justin's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I started getting the ache in the roof of my mouth after being sleeved. I actually posted a question but got no replies. Glad I am not alone! -
Does this seem right?
Christina.Rose replied to New Me 31317's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Also the amount of weight loss pre op is a factor. You won't drop as much initially post op if you already dropped the water weight pre op. -
Thank you [emoji5]

3 meals or 6? How much do you y'all eat? (Post- op vets)
Christina.Rose replied to xoxococojay's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I was told 5-6 meals until solid food and then only 3. -
3 meals or 6? How much do you y'all eat? (Post- op vets)
Christina.Rose replied to xoxococojay's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
Mine says 60-80 as well. I'm on my 4th week post op so I don't have a lot of experience with stalls etc. I have noticed many many variations from surgeon to surgeon. Some are on liquid for a month, some eat puree on day 3. It's just best to do what you are told by your doctor. However, if you are eating extra protein within the calories guidelines I can't see how that could hurt. -
Prevention of sagging skin workouts???
Christina.Rose replied to Christina.Rose's topic in Fitness & Exercise
Lol....hoping that I won't need a miracle but too soon to know. -
Im looking for a blender/extractor for veggies and fruit. I have heard of the Nutribullet, Ninja, Magic Bullet.....I want something that leaves no pulp leftovers and liquifies everything. Does anyone have any good suggestions for one that they have personal experience with? Not too pricey please!

Ok....I am BORED of Campbell's cheap little cans of creamy soup and broth. Besides that is there ANYTHING NOT SWEET that anyone has tried on the full liquid phase post op? Im REALLY sick of all sweets. 4 days until puree but I licked my daughters chicken nugget sauce today. I need a flavor intervention. Thanks!

Attempted eggsalad one night and tunasalad the next. Both times I got sweaty and almost immediately had to use restroom. Now I am pretty sure its got to be the mayonnaise but isn't "dumping" from sugar? I never really feel nauseated either. Just "lower tummy" issues. Besides "Dont eat mayo" does anyone have any insight about this?

Replacing one unhealthy habit with another..
Christina.Rose replied to BrookeTiffani's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Not quite the same thing but I watch My 600lb Life every week. I don't 100% know what I get from it, but I do empathize and feel grateful I am not that far gone. Maybe it does help healing. Interesting perspective. -
Non sugar dumping syndrome?
Christina.Rose replied to Christina.Rose's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Update, I just ate tunasalad again today and everything is good. I guess it was too early for me to eat it. Thanks everyone for the input. -
How often so you weigh in?
Christina.Rose replied to maggieO's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Im waiting for my one month check up to see my progress (so I dont freak out about the 3week stall) and after that I plan on weighing myself every Friday morning only at the gym. Got rid of the house scale. I get super obsessive about the scale and dont want to go psycho. I have enough stress right now! -
Count your chewing for 20 times and put the fork down in between bites.

I Want To See Before & After Pics! (Cont'd)
Christina.Rose replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
You are the best dresser! You have great style!......of course your weight loss is amazing as well, but you just look great all the time, lol. -
Sleep! Lol....when you have surgery you need recovery time and a support system of some sort. Make sure you get walking in 30min daily, to make sure you don't get blood clots, but you just got cut up and sewed up. Your body is tired and needs to heal. For me, I needed about one week of me time to rest and do what my body told me to.

Sports Shaker Bottle with BariatricPal's logo and name - would you be embarrassed to use it?
Christina.Rose replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Yes I would be embarrassed -
How did you handle changing clothing size ?
Christina.Rose replied to Elizabethtash's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think there is a sub category forum on Bariatric Pal that is about swapping clothing. I have not used it but you might get some help there. -
I feel pretty hungry, not unbearable, but still.....I have even dreamt about eating! My stomach feels empty and protein shakes and strained soups since surgery are not doing it for me. I wont eat because I don't want to die...lol....but seriously.....but I am kind of irritated that this is an issue. Anyone else feel this and or when does the hunger stop??? Im also taking prescription antacids. Ugh.

Very frustrated with my surgeons office
Christina.Rose replied to ColleenErin1974's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Of course patience is important, but unless you are really happy with your team you have to consider how accessible they may be post op. If you have a serious problem will they have time for you? Just my 2cents
