Pissed off party instead of pity party

Good for you little engine! Lmao.....bounce.....
  2. It is definitely a powerful addiction. People on drugs can quit them.....not saying it's not hard....But we HAVE to eat. Every day forever! How frustrating is it to need your "drug" to survive? People who are not food addicts think overweight people are just lazy and gross and get what they deserve if they won't not eat. It is so hard to be in pain and struggling while society has more pity for someone who chooses to inject illicit drugs into themselves than someone who is wearing their consequences as fat. Blah blah blah.....You were right IMO
  3. Is it true that your band gets tight on your period? I have had my band for years but just started getting fills and I think I read that somewhere. Is it true? My band is killing me the last couple of days. Stuck and restuck. My fill was weeks ago so I don't think its overfilled.

    Impatient!

I know I'm losing weight and I am better off but I'm so impatient for the weight to go! Even worse, I was banded in 2009 and had no aftercare until I moved back home and found a new surgeon about 3 months ago. I restarted at my preband weight. I have lost 30 pounds but I really thought I would lose faster with finally getting my fills. I have had this dormant band for so long I just wanted it to work like magic instead of working out 5 days a week and skipping sweets. I know its illogical and I REALLY understand how much work weight loss is even with the band now, but I am so frustrated. Just venting really. Blah.

    Miracle Noodles

Fyi, Miracle Noodles are gluten, carb, calorie free and have the texture of a rice noodle, but fill you up if anyone misses pasta or ramen etc. They take on the flavor of the sauce you put on it or broth. I ordered mine online. Hope this helps someone.

    Lapband Haters

Ok, on my brief break from LBT as it was updated, I meandered onto some other WLS "support" sites and was kind of shocked to see a LOT of people talking horribly about the band and being venomous to bandsters who were being positive about their bands. I didn't notice any wide spread hate for any other surgery method. What is up with that? I read things like everyone who gets the band will have to have multiple surgeries leading up to removal after 7 years and some bad complications. Has anyone noticed this before? Are there any plus 7 year bandsters out there who don't hate life? I kinda got freaked out and it made me worried about my own future with the band. Thoughts?
  7. I'm stuck and slowly sipping pineapple juice. Wondering how long it usually takes? I ate cheese and some corn chips.

    Inches Lost....

I know I'm losing weight, 33 pounds so far yay! Of course I'm not disappointed about that. But I never have heard anything about what normal or average inch loss is. I know technically 1-2 pounds a week is average weight loss with the band or at least the generic goal....I just wanted to know if there was even an average inch loss "spectrum" as I have never used measurements ,myself ,to track progress.

    Inches Lost....

Question, for those who are measuring themselves "inch wise" what has been an average monthly inch loss for you? I lost 5.5 inches last month, but was kind of disappointed. I don't know what I thought I had lost, but I felt so good and my clothes were fitting better, and then I had what I thought was such a low number. Ironically, my weight dropped 14 pounds and everyone says don't worry about the scale but see the inches go down. I know I'm in the right direction, but Boo. I'm just curious as to what "normal" really looks like. Thanks in advance.

    Tom Woes....

It does happen to some women, its called ammenorhea....spell check that, lol. It can be brought on by excessive exercise, low body fat, stress etc. http://www.nytimes.com/health/guides/disease/secondary-amenorrhea/ Here's a NY times article that explains some causes, symptoms etc. It happens to some girls in basic training, WLS and people training for big sports events. Hope this helps. Btw, I don't know how to paste a link so you probably have to copy and paste the address to find this.

    Martial Arts After Lbs

I was interested in getting into some MMA training or some marital arts, but am too embarrassed to begin. How much did you weigh when you started TKD? If you don't mind my asking. I'm 238 right now.

    Lipitor

I just heard the cholesterol medication Lipitor may be a cause of diabetes with a significant number of women affected. I don't have details and don't want any drama from other forum participants. I just thought it may be something that people potentially affected might look up information to possibly help themselves. I saw this on one of those class action lawyer commercials. As to the validity of the claims, its up to the individual to check it out. Hopefully this does help someone.
  16. I am trying to do the right thing and have heard all the terrible things about aspartame. But I NEED something besides water and tea/ lemonade to drink! Are there any ready made (like Crystal light) drinks out there that use Splenda, Stevia, Truvia, etc.?

    What does PB stand for?

One time I had to sprint to the restroom at a restaurant and Lo and Behold, a line....I literally slammed into the men's room and spit up. Soooo not fun.

    Causes Of Hunger...

I went to a wedding and drank and ate too much AND stayed up very late. The next day I swear I couldnt shove food in fast enough! All crap of course....sigh. Dehydrated, over stuffed and under rested. I gotta just get back on track though. It's interesting to know that there are scientific reasons for the cravings and subsequent reactions though.

Too Fat To Run For President?

I think it was brave of him to make it public, how he was doing WLS....I mean, people would have thought he had cancer or something wrong with his health losing all that weight with no comment, but still. It makes him vulnerable times one million compared to the average banders general criticism. I think he could do the job fine with the band, but international banquets and formal dinners may suck. All that being said though, Hillary has been criticized since just being the first lady. Her hair, pant suits, staying with Bill....everyone in the public eye takes their licks.

I'm just so happy...and it's hard to hide it!

Congratulations! I too am a victim of the underwear creeping, lol. Sometimes I feel like Erkel.....dating myself here.... Hiking them up. Jfc, I love your post. I would take Dumbo ears comments all day long as opposed to elephant size comments! Looking good!

Gotta Get This Off My Chest

Totally agree, btw. I am a born again newbie and just eat this information up, as well as love the support and feeling that people exist that have similar problems as me. That being said, I can almost visualize the contempt and stink eye facial expressions that some of the "uppitys" have when they talk about newbies, like newbies are freshman in Highschool and they are seniors. Good job not being fat anymore.....can't wait to get there myself.....which I will.
  22. Has it been 20-30 years? Any long term complications with having stomach mostly gone? Any stomach cancer scares?

Question For Those With Serious Lap Band Problems

Thanks, I just want as much help as I can get so I can spot a problem in as little time as possible! Very helpful posts.
  24. How much PBing were you doing before your major issues? This next question will.sound Soooo stupid but......can you feel a difference between vomiting vs PB? I know the health complications related to vomit, and I also am not asking about the flu etc. How many PB's do you have during one "session" of being stuck? Did anyone feel Ok but were told you slipped or eroded etc? How fast is papaya enzyme or pineapple juice supposed to clear you from being stuck? I have been reading lots of scary sh*t and just started really using my band of four years and I want to know what not normal is! I'm like a born again bandster, lol. I wanna be safe.
