ugh to the liquid diet!
Christina.Rose replied to OhHeyMarina's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh, also....I have read a lot of people that use GENEPRO unflavored Protein powder because its 30g protein in a tablespoon.....conflicting opinions on how much protein can fit into a tablespoon.....but that would be less shake drinking and still a lot of protein. ugh to the liquid diet!
Christina.Rose replied to OhHeyMarina's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Muscle milk chocolate is pretty good. 32 g Protein. I started Dec 2 too. My first week is 2 shakes and a very low carb dinner. Next week is 3 shakes a day. I am 36, 5'6" and 274...lost 3lbs in the last 2 days from pre op so far....and getting sleeved Dec 16. You will likely not have an issue with your liver, your pre op is a lot harsher than mine even. Different types of broth with unflavored protein would give you a salty taste without a ton of calories. Maybe ask your NUT if you can sub out something during pre op, but we are all doomed to a shakey fate post op! Good luck to you! Sent from my SM-J700P using the BariatricPal App -
Pet peeve: extra skin.
Christina.Rose replied to JupiterinVirgo's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I do not think there are no people who have surgery for dire medical reasons regardless of the alternate consequences. All I am saying is that I find it ridiculous and am calling BS on people claiming there isn't a "vanity".....and I really consider it to be more of a praying to look different/better for happiness.......aspect to WLS. People who are desperate for weight loss and to feel "normal" and are concerned about trading in fat for skin problems shouldn't be shamed for asking about it. The OP was rude and nasty and I responded with the feeling that I got from that post. and Im 36....not a fossil but not a college kid. Also, I have PCOS, joint deterioration and PTSD to name a few issues I want relief from. I didn't slip through a Psych eval and IDGAF if anyone blocks me. I have every right to ask any question or react to any post just like everyone else here. Sent from my SM-J700P using the BariatricPal App -
I know there are many preferences out there, but I would like some opinions on the LEAST FLAVORED Protein supplements. Im looking for zero taste or easily covered up. I have read many posts and have some ideas, but I would like to get some specific comparisons between the unflavored powders, liquids etc. I go on my pre-op diet December 2nd and finally need to buy my "shakes". Thanks in advance! Sent from my SM-J700P using the BariatricPal App

Pet peeve: extra skin.
Christina.Rose replied to JupiterinVirgo's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I think its horrible when people...like me....go on this site for support and information on experiences and read BS talking about how their concerns are annoying or stupid to some other self righteous person. This isn't Facebook this is a WLS forum for information and "fellowship" for the process. Not to make others feel worse about themselves. Some people come on here because they DONT get support at home. To be ridiculed by someone who just happened to have surgery first is wrong. And I am nice, but I call it like I see it. Nobody on here should be putting down anybody's questions and making them self conscious. Everyone here has a VALID struggle and we, you, everyone here is here to get information and FEEL BETTER about themselves. Sent from my SM-J700P using the BariatricPal App -
Im curious if most of the sleevers with GERD had it before the sleeve or if the sleeve gave it to you? Sent from my SM-J700P using the BariatricPal App

I am getting sleeved and I am nervous. How long has this procedure been getting performed? Who has had their sleeve the longest or knows someone with a sleeve for maybe 10+ years? Does anyone have information on looooonnngggg term issues with the sleeve or damage to the body because of the removal of the stomach.....most of it? Sent from my SM-J700P using the BariatricPal App

Pet peeve: extra skin.
Christina.Rose replied to JupiterinVirgo's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Wow. How supportive and welcoming. I am DEFINITELY concerned about the extra skin possibility. Im in my 30s and dont want to go from a cow to a deflated elephant. To call people stupid and whiny for daring to care if their self esteem and possible depression or living misery of feeling ugly and abnormal will get better or potentially worse is judgemental and none of your business. Mental health is a part of being healthy too and if you say you didn't care about what you would end up looking like after surgery and you were only doing it to get rid of....diabetes/apnea/joint pain blah blah etc, then you have to be lying. What is with all the Fatty divas on this site? This site is supposed to be here for questions, concerns, support, not being a jerk and complaining about peoples personal issues or struggles. Guess what. You were fat just like everyone else. It doesn't make you a leader or rock star because you got cut up before other people did. Sent from my SM-J700P using the BariatricPal App -

Unflavored Protein question
Christina.Rose replied to Christina.Rose's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I appreciate the details of your experience. I'm trying to compile everything I read from people and GENEPRO seems to be the "best" so far for lack of flavor. Sent from my SM-J700P using the BariatricPal App -

Do you happen to have a list of those companies? Thats a really good idea and my pre-op diet starts Dec 2. I know I can Google everything but if you still know what companies you had success with that would be awesome! Sent from my SM-J700P using the BariatricPal App

I have tried them. They smell kibd of weird and fishy.....not too bad though. They come in different shapes but all have the same texture of a glass noodle....if youre familiar. Like a clear noodle in some Oriental foods. They basically take on the flavor of the sauce on them. It is not really a spaghetti style noodle....more like ramen.
