My doctor told me to have protein the second day. I got sick from my shakes so I was eating pureed food by the fourth day. I never had any issues with doing things a little sooner.

Omg! People make sure you get all your water in between meals. I have not and now i have a freaking kidney stone and the pain is terrible! So please drink your water!

I drank a ton of water before bed last night and took a pain med. I feel a lot better! I find sipping my water out of a coffee mug (the ones you take to work with you with the top) is much easier. Inky so much water comes out at a time and it stays cold!

Today at around 3:30pm I went in for surgery. I am officially in bandland and want to give updates on my progress. I was in some pain at first but once they gave me the good stuff it was very much controlled. They gave me medicine to control the nausea. I am actually spending the night at the hospital since my procedure was so late in the day. I don't really have any gas pains yet. The worst of the pain is at the port sight. My throat is very dry and a little sore from the anesthesia so I'm living on ice chips at the moment. I also have these annoying leg compressors on to prevent blood clots. I had a really hard time peeing. I feel like i have to pee but can't really go. Other than all that i feel pretty good. I'm excited my journey has begun and I'm touched by all the support I'm getting here and from my family. I am truly blessed! I'm looking forward to reading about everyones progress. Please feel free to post anything you would like to share. Including poems or anything creative as well. The sisterhood of the shrinking pants is for everyone. How are you doing? I would love to know.

I had to take my chances and pureed some tofu and avocado. I feel so much better today! I'm gonna keep eating that for a few more days. I start my pureed foods soon anyway.I'm pretty sure my protein shakes were making me sick. The gas has moved to my shoulders but doesn'r hurt that bad. I did have the tea this morning and it was pretty soothing... I'll have to look up that yoga move! Thank you all for your advice. I really look to these blogs to give me advice and give me some idea of what to expect. So thank you!

Ok so I'm having rough times with the gas! It's stuck in my chest and i don't know if I'm eating too fast or what but it's so uncomfortable. I'm supposed to beback to work tomorrow! I have been taking my gas-x and walking. I have a headache that just keeps coming back too. Any suggestions?

I'm four days post op and i feel terrible! Mostly nausea and headache. I got nausea meds but i swear they make me nauseous. They are the desolvable and they taste terrible. I've been avoiding my meds because there is nothing i hate more than being nauseous. I'd rather suffer in pain!

I was banded the same day and i had that problem a day ago. I think i just ate my soup too fast. I also make sure to take my gas-x and eat slow! Good luck!

I'm alright! I wake up in the middle of the night with gas pain and pain from my incision. Oh and nausea! But once i take all my meds I'm comfortable again. I was hoping to go back to work in two days. I may be playing that by ear... I had surgery Oct. 11... So I'm three days post op. I have the best tasting shakes! Syntha6 chocolate!

I'm glad your pain is going away. Now that I'm home I seem to be in more pain I feel. So hopefully mine will subside soon! The gas is just now hitting me. I'm pretty uncomfortable but I'll be alright. how are the protein shakes treating you? Mine is pretty good!

Of course brothers are welcome too! I'm finally home now! Chewed my gas-x and sipping on my protein shake watching a Steven King movie! Keep the posts coming. I'm loving the them! Everyone is welcome to contribute words, poems, pictures of anything that's valuable to them.

Yay! I feel the same way. Nothing terrible. I think the most annoying thing is everytime i have to pee i have to call someone because i have these boots on my legs and i can't get up alone

Thank you everyone. I'm having a little gas pain this morning. Very tolerable. However, this port site is a pain. My nurses have been great! Although I had a nurses assistant who was a little moody. I am very happy I spent the night. I would love for this to be a space people can share clothes and anything else. I know I will def need to do some clothes swapping. Bandista I loved that poem! My surgery it's today! In like 15 mins! Woohoo!

So from the very beginning my surgeons office has been great. They give you a sheet with all YOUR insurance companies requirements for surgery, they have other providers that come provide the therapy and nutritional appointments in house. Everyone is so gracious and nice! Then yesterday I went for my last appointment with my surgeon and they have me a nice tote, a pen, and a journal to write about the way I'm feeling. They did so well in organizing my paper work I got approved on the first submission. They also congratulated me because I gained no extra weight in the six month process. They gave me a superior experience. My surgery is tomorrow and i couldn't be in better hands. If anyone is from Western Massachusetts go see Dr. Haag at Pioneer Valley Surgical Associates. Were everyone in bandland tomorrow!

Mine is tomorrow too but in the afternoon. Although I work at the hospital i'm having surgery at and i decided to work in the morning so I'm going to be super anxious all morning! Oh and starving! Lol

My surgery is scheduled October 11th at 1:30pm. I work at the hospital I am having surgery at so I'm going to work half the day. But i can't have anything to drink or eat after 3 am (since the surgery is at 1:30pm). I'm gonna starve lol i know I'll probably more excited and nervous the day of so I won't even care but I'm just saying. lol Anyway the perks of working in the anesthesia department at the hospital is I got to pick my anesthesia team! I think I'm most nervous because I have to stay the night at the hospital... However my pain meds probably won't let me care either. Lol getting wicked excited!

Lol i know of all things that's the last thing i souls be worried about (fat kid at heart) I'll probably be too nervous to eat anyway. Thanks guys!
