Help ! Going to a restaurant tomoorw
HealthyNewMe replied to proudmary's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Chances are if you talk to the wait staff, and explain that you are on a pureed diet, they can accomodate you. Maybe you can drink a Protein shake before you go, and see if they can bring you a cup of Soup. -

That is not a REAL weight gain. To gain two pounds, you would have had to consume 7000 calories more than you burned. That two pounds is a temporary fluctuation in your weight due to Water retention or not having had bowel elimination. Thus, the reason many of us do not weigh daily. Those temporary gains are just that...... temporary. Just keep to your plan, and you will succeed.

Co-existing with Food
HealthyNewMe replied to Faye325's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I know that a food addiction is an addiction, just like drug addiction, alcohol addiction, cigarette addiction, etc . However, like you stated, with food we must find a way to co-exist, bc unlike drugs, alcohol, and tobacco, one does NEED food to survive. So in many ways, it is a much harder addiction to live with. Just my humble opinion........ -

Congrats for determination and reaching a goal........." The world is your oyster." -
I think many overweight people, including myself in this, have body image issues. I didn't really want to see myself for what I looked like when I was 327 pounds........ I would look in the mirror only at my face to see how my hair and makeup looked. Now, when I look in the mirror, I am only looking at my body, and can't seem to wrap my brain around it. I swear that I look in the mirror the last thing I do before going to bed at night and the first thing I do when waking up in the morning..... not bc I'm getting vain, but bc it's like I''m scared that I might have somehow ballooned back up to my old self......... my brain still hasn't caught up with the weight loss.
