Mines was six months and I could go back up to 5 yrs using doctors progress notes about my weight loss attempts. So insurances only require 3 months on nut. visits. So call your insurance and find out before your oct appt. So if so you can have your first visit in sept. also talk to your primary doctor so they have a heads up in case u need clearance and a letter of necessity. So hopefully by summer of 2015 you would be sleeved n on ur way into your dream dress!!

DaisyBell I'm sorry u have to go thru that, that's not fair at all. You know how you call somewhere n one person tells u one thing n u call back back and the next person something else. I would ask for a supervisor, and ask for written document that says that when did it go into effect. Make sure u remember the dates you called or started the whole process. Also that's sucks about your friend, she already had wls just now a revision is needed. What insurance is that? Smh

Awwww that sucks. Hopefully u get that all cleared up. When you first started the process they didn't give u a written list of requirements? If so and that's not on there than they can't just spring it on you. I submitted my papers to both my insurance n the hospital August 15 n good thing I did bc I called my insurance company on Monday n they said they r waiting on the clinic and so after I called the clinic n they said the nurse is reviewing the psy eval n then they can submit to my insurance I was like ummm I'm one step ahead I already did they just waiting on you lol. I think it's the gas from where the doctors fills you up with after. Reading other people's posts gas x and walking helps get rid of the gas. I also have IBS so I get gassy n campy n diarrhea after eating certain foods. It sucks

Congrats!!!! How long u waited?

. Oh wow, well since u submitted on the 7th. I would have your doctor office call UHC this week the sooner the better and see if they can get an answer. Start the liquid diet preparation this week. Majority includes substituting meals with Protein shakes. Goal is to lose some weight to help shrink your liver. I can email you my pre op packet. So if u are pressed for time you would be ahead of the game. I understand the job part. I work in a bank at a big branch that isn't fully staffed right now. Some1 just got fired n another got transfer so, the manager does the schedule a month in advance so I would need a date set by the beginning of sept for October bc I can't over lap with another employee. I plan on using a vacation week. I told my manager I need my gallbladder out n it might be in oct lol so she has a heads up.

. After you get your approval from the insurance the surgeon would have to set a date for your surgery which might not be till like sometime in Sept. Once you get a date then you will know when to start your two week diet and do your testing. You might get your approval before the 28th. I was told I need a few clearances right be4 surgery. I know I can't get clearance from my hematologist dr till before I go for surgery and it's SOOOO hard to get an appt with him. So that's gonna make me press for time.

Finally the case manager at the doctor office faxed me over the completed paper work! Only waited 10 months smh.... I rushed n faxed it over to my insurance company n surgeon office. My insurance company said 15 business days to get a answer! Hopefully it will be sooner.. Gonna be staring at the calendar now lol. Wish me luck. Hopefully to have a October date!

I just submitted my papers on Friday 8/15. United healthcare said 15 business days... I'm hoping sooner!! I'm gonna be crossing down the days on my calendar lol. Good luck with getting ur approval! Hopefully this week!!

I had my gallbladder removed about 6 years ago the laser way so hoping they can use the same spots for the sleeve so less scars. Reading peoples responses about after WLS reminds me of that surgery. It wasn't too bad. Best of luck! Hopefully the dr changes his mind and does it together
