I got a date of January 5th too, but the lady at the hospital told me she is gonna call next week or by the 29th with a definite time. So when she calls back with a time that's when I start my diet. It's so real right now!!!!

Funny lol I'm on lovenox, blood thinners and I inject myself twice daily. My surgeon wants me to STOP, I had to get clearance from my hemo dr to stop before I could get a date so I just got it a few weeks ago. But it's not too bad lol, you will be fine. It does leave bruises so DONT rub the spot after u inject and keep switching spots on your tummy over those couple of days to lessen the bruise. Also be careful not to fall or cut yourself during that time. I been on them for three yrs on and off (I stop on my own,bad I know)

Hey guys! Hope all is well. I was excited about doing this but now idk.... What happens if you don't receive a package from a pen pal ?

So I met with my hematologist today and he was like what's it doing? What's going on with the surgery? I was like I just need clearance from you and I can get a date. He was like I sent your doctor a letter a few weeks ago clearing you. (I last saw him 10/13/14 and did blood work and CT scan) Also I called the last week in Oct to remind him like he told me to and the lady (she can be so rude and mean at times) was like Ohhhh no Dr. Rosen doesn't clear anyone without them coming in again and going over the results, I tried to tell her no he told me to call. Then she was like Oh no in all the 30 yrs I been working here this is how he does it. And she was WRONG!! He already cleared me. Then In my head I was omgosh my pcp got the letter and didn't reach out to me. I could have been scheduled already. I had to laugh smh, so I asked him to write another letter and send it to the surgeon please. So hopefully they get the letter next week and I can get a date. He was like next time I see you you better be skinny and good luck my dear! Yes Dr. Rosen I am gonna be thinner next time I see you! When I was leaving the office he was telling the receptionist to call the dr and get the address! I'm gonna really enjoy thanksgiving this year. Have so much to be thankful for!

Pre-surgery: two protein shakes and one low fat meal a day and unlimited veggies n ice pops. In my post op instructions are: The day before surgery all liquid and then the day of and 24 hrs after NOTHING so guessing No water then day after clear liquid 1-2oz every 20 mins. Then once I go home full liquids for a week and two high protein shakes a day. Week two and three puréed foods they gave us a list of items. No juice anymore n I love oj n apple juice lol

I know, i just got my approval n Im gonna ask for a day in Jan. So I'm gonna work on getting into a better habit the next few weeks and prepare

I'm a Banker at Chase, so if a customer comes in to open an account that process takes like 40-45 mins so I'm tied up with that and if it's a business account even longer. If their account is compromised then have to call fraud file claims, then open new account n all that so it's a longer process. Some days it's not too busy n other days it's like omgosh lol. I start at 7:45 and if I have coffee or breakfast it becomes my lunch instead don't get a chance till around 11:30-12....

That's a good daily menu plan. I'm so afraid I won't be able to follow something like that once I got back to work . It gets so crazy at times. The only person who I told at my job was one of my managers that I was planning on having the surgery.

Oh wow 10 blood clots??!!! I had blood clots in my lungs two yrs ago and my hemo Dr ran test n said I had to be on lovenox for a long time as a preventive cuz there was no reason why I had a PE. My surgeon was like she needs clearance from hemo dr for me to stop. She doesn't know why I have to still be on them. And the risk for bleeding will increase if I stay on them right after surgery

My surgeon office called me today and told me I got.......... APPROVED!!!!!!!!! Took only about a week!!! Just need hematology clearance n I can get a date!! I go on Mon to see him!! So excited!!!

@@tissiegirl oh wow that sucks. So what do you have to do with BRS? Hopefully you don't have to do anything much in addition. I didn't have to do anything special when I enrolled just the diet and psychologist eval and surgeon letter. To get the $1,000 I just had to go to a center of excellence to have it done. See that's why you just need to cover all areas yourself, bc sometimes people don't know what they talk about and advise you wrong. I'm sorry they gave you the run around. Well if not in dec you can join our January hopefuls lol

@@Tiffany82583 me too!! Due to everyone taking vacation in dec I have to wait till January so I told the surgeon 1st available in Jan! So excited!

I have uhc also. I had to call in to enroll in the bariatric program and if I chose a center of excellence then I get a $1,000 bonus in my MRA account. When I first started I got assigned a nurse she called one two weeks later n and I kept calling her back n nothing so I got unenrolled bc she said she kept reaching out to me n we never talked (lies) then I had to re enroll again n got the same lady n then the 3rd time around I got a new nurse we talked n she was really nice. Too bad it was her last day, lol so my new nurse Kim is nice too. So they talk to you before surgery and then check in on you post op to make sure things are good. I was required to do a six month diet. Could use weight watchers or Jenny Craig weigh ins. Or go to your doctor for 6 months. Even can go back to 5 yrs, your doctor has to fill out the form listing 6 weigh ins and notes about your diet. And you need a psych evaluation. Also notes from the surgeon office stating the procedure you want. I made the mistake on that part. When I 1st met with the np at the hospital we talked about the lap and and that's what I wanted at that time. Then I changed my mind but I didn't know i had to decide before I met with the surgeon. So months later when they submitted my paper they put the lapband cuz I didn't inform them of the change. I didn't meet the surgeon till after the 1st they submitted the papers. So we had to call to cancel that so UHC needs the new notes about the sleeve and a new psych cuz it expired. So did the psych 10/2 and finally meeting with the surgeon yesterday So they gonna submit again this week. So once I get an approval I get a date!
