    Soft Full

I get a slight gurgle in my stomach and then burp. Not a small one either. We're talking about a two minute long burp (which gratefully, I can stifle the sound of). ~David.

    Not losing? Banded on 7/26/13

It's definitely the case for me that i need to eat more. I find on days when I workout and only consume about 800 - 900 calories, I don't lose weight. The days I consume closer to 1100 - 1200 calories or so, I seem to lose weight if I work out or not. It's just hard to get those calories in sometimes. I'm just not hungry enough to eat more and can't tolerate more food. Without making some 'bad' food choices, it's not easy sometimes. I'm not far enough along that I can treat (I don't think of it as cheating, so much as treating) myself. I'm still new in the post-op world too (about six weeks) so I'm sure I'll find what works for me....just like I'm sure you'll find what works for you. Keep at it and don't get discouraged. ~David.

    Unjury Protein Chicken Soup Review

i found that the warmer the Water you use with it, the lumpier it gets! I actually would just use about 4 ounces of lukewarm water to get it to dissolve, and then i would use another 4 ounces of steaming hot water to heat it up, and the lumpiness went away. I did feel like it left a bad, almost onion-like after taste. Overall, i think it's decent. I'm really curious about their fall/winter seasonal cheese sauce... ~David.

Fitbit Flex or UP by Jawbone??

I did some digging and ended up buying the Fitbit One and love it! It's nice to see my habits in raw data form, so there's one less excuse not to move. Also, if you end up wanting the Flex, you can get a decent deal on it. I'm relatively new on the boards, so I won't direct link out to where the deal is (not sure if I'm allowed to), but if you want more information, don't hesitate to ask (deal is the Flex for $63 plus shipping). ~David.

    First fill

i'm set to have an appointment next week, and likely my first fill at 6 weeks post op too....but i'm contemplating canceling the appointment. If i'm losing the weight, should I still get a fill? Hearing positive outcomes of a fill is encouraging, but all the same, shouldn't I wait till i'm stagnant on the scale or until I need a boost to keep losing? What's everyone else think? ~David.

    Favorite post-op foods

My favorite was about two ounces of canned chicken/tuna/salmon broken up a bit and mixed with about a third of an avocado. Add salt, pepper and ground mustard to taste! ~David.

    Family help.

Yeah....sounds like a great situation! hahaha. I'm in a similar situation. My wife is pregnant with our second and third child and she has developed gestational diabetes. She is being basically forced to eat more food and Snacks to regulate due to the twins, and has to snack a lot. She has a night time snack every night at 10:30 and the only thing that quells her morning fasting sugar number is having ice cream. Specifically, Klondike ice cream bars. It's not uncommon for her to ask me which kind she should have that night. And then she remembers what she's doing and stops eventually. ~David.

    Gas 3 weeks post op

I'm about a month post-op too and also very burpy/belchy. The Dr. and Nutritionist i have met with since my surgery said it's normal and mostly from the healing process. They said it'll lessen, but not go away. YMMV ~David.

    Poster Girl!

Looking good! Looks like your fitness center has some good equipment to work out with too so that's a great perk and a nice way to keep things going. How are you liking your jawbone up (i see you sporting it in the picture)? I just recently gifted myself with a Fitbit One, but I'm curious about some of the other fitness trackers out there still. ~David.

    Newbie Bander

@PrettyThick1 - Thanks! I'm excited about getting healthy. Looking forward to running around with the kiddos and being healthy enough to coach a soccer team or something. I'll post a pic when they get here. @Steph04, @NaNa, @Jim1967, @Dr. Alias, and @Bandista - Thanks! Glad to be here. Feeling great! @Jennybean - Thanks! I'm feeling great. I had little to no pain from banding and was back working two days later. Didn't take a single pain killer. There was slight discomfort from the gas, mostly in my shoulders and neck, but a heating pad and a nightly walk got me squared away real fast. The biggest pain, has and still is the insurance company. But that'll get squared away soon I hope. Best of luck on your band and keep us posted! ~David.

    UnJury/Protein Powder

I like it as much as the unjury one. They all taste a little fakely sweet however. My Breakfast shake goes like this (and I love it by the way) Half a cup of skim milk 1 cup of crushed ice 1 scoop of chocolate Protein powder 1 tablespoon of instant decaf coffee Blend and enjoy. ~David.

    First Fill Today

I'm really dreading a fill honestly. I'm about three or four weeks post op and my Dr. offered me a fill at my two week follow up. I declined since I'm still losing weight on my own. I'd love to be able to get to goal without ever needing a fill. Thanks for letting us know your fill experience though... ~David.

    Working :/

I'm sorry your uncomfortable....to answer your questions (if you still need them answered). The active ingredient in Gas-x is 'Simethicone'. I did a quick google search and they say that there's an Australian equivalent called 'De-Gas'. Hope that helps and good luck! ~David.

    UnJury/Protein Powder

My nutritionist actually gave me samples of all of the unjury powders, and they were just ok. I found them to be a little pricey and I ultimately ended up using a cheapo brand that I get at walmart or shoprite. I use Body Fortress and love their chocolate, Chocolate Peanut Butter and Cookies and Cream flavors. I do, however, use the Unjury chicken powder. I usually dissolve it in about 6 ounces of hot Water to their max temp and then top it off with a bit of hotter water to bring the temp up. I'm also very excited to try their cheese sauce when the season rolls around. ~David.
  17. I'm about three weeks post op and my Vitamin intake looks like this: Opurity: Band Optimized Multi - Chewable (when I wake up) Bariatric Advantage: Chewable Calcium Citrate 500mg (3x per day, usually with each meal) Nature Made: Adult chewable Vitamin D3 1000iu (nightly) Wellesse: Vitamin B-12 sublingual liquid (nightly) Unfortunately, Bariatric Advantage stopped selling the calcium (they ran out apparently) and I hope they have more in before I have to obtain more...or I'll just switch to their Chewy Bites which are much more tasty, but a bit more costly. David
