Out of work
jamilyne 102668 replied to Aliciafl2014's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had surgery on Friday and went back on Tuesday. I was really really tired, but I did fine. If you have the time, I suggest you take a couple of days off - because you never know if you will need a little more time to recoup:) -
I love those cocoa dusted almonds and I found them by mistake - the best!

Feeling Guilty
jamilyne 102668 replied to lorena verdugo's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I'm not going to be negative Nelly, but that's a lot of pizza whether you are a newbie or a veteran. We've all made mistakes & have given into temptations! Start fresh tomorrow. What you need to learn are your weaknesses. Once you learn those foods, you need to eliminate them from your diet completely. I have a list of foods that I cannot eat. I'm afraid that if I start I cannot stop. You will hear people say that this journey is not a diet and you shouldn't eliminate foods, but if you are weak - you just can't give in. This is addiction and I have it too. I'm not preaching to the choir because I'm in the choir and I'm talking to myself as well. I can't eat breads, pastas, fried foods, baked goods, pizza, tacos - I love food so much and I just can't give in to any of these temptations. If you are hungry - drink more Water, eat sugar free Jello (10 calories), eat sugar free Popsicles, drink hot tea, take in more Protein. Eat what the doctor has advised. You can do this! But - don't get discouraged just chalk this up as a bad day and move on - doing better tomorrow! -
That's amazing!

Happy Easter! Well my mom is having ham with all the fixings! I'm going to do a little ham & maybe a boiled egg whatever green veggies. I love those pre-band meals but I'm going to try to contain myself! Lol

Can Someone Help me with My Weight Ticker
jamilyne 102668 replied to Mikee57's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I went by BMI. I kept putting in the weight until it got to normal weight. That's what I'm going for "normal". I'm not sure if I'll get there, but why not? I don't think I'm setting myself up for failure. I'm just trying to be normal. -
Well I'm happy for anyone that chooses to lose weight to better themselves- whether they have wls or not. I think she looks really good! It's such a freakin struggle either way! It sucks being obese it really does & we have all either been there or are there now

No carbonation ever again?
jamilyne 102668 replied to Loristi's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
No carbonation for me either- I gave up that notion a while ago, I was addicted to diet coke and I weaned myself off during my pre-surgery diet. I haven't had it since. I drink water & tea. -
what a great day

Yes it's normal. However, if you are unsure- you should check with your doctor. It's great about your weight loss! -
Anyone use My Fitness Pal to track food/calories?
jamilyne 102668 replied to Zeniada B's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I don't eat back my exercise calories either. I am taking a slow & steady approach, I am not trying to lose a ton of weight quickly. I have had one fill and I am just plugging along lol -
Sweet - I hardly ever eat bread, sometimes I eat a piece of reduced calorie wheat toast. As for taco shells - I have had a taco since I have been banded, but maybe one or two, I usually don't eat tacos. There are some things that I just can't start eating again because I know once I start eating them, I'm not going to be able to stop. Tacos, any kind of Pasta, any kind of bread - I just can't. I love food so much and I know what my triggers are and I am just afraid enough not to do to it. That's just me. Some people say that this is not a diet and I get that, its not. But - if you feel like you are weak when it comes to certain food, I don't think that its wrong to exclude them until you are strong enough to be able to just eat one or just a little bit. At this point, I am not strong enough. (lol)

Anyone use My Fitness Pal to track food/calories?
jamilyne 102668 replied to Zeniada B's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I do my fitness pal also - it's very helpful for me to add the calories & protein. I also do between 800-1000 calories. I average around 900 also, sometimes less - sometimes more but right around there. -
Hi smashing pumpkin - lol! I think you should go to the doctor, it doesn't seem normal to me that you are vomiting so much. I know that you are afraid to go, but I think you should. Maybe you just need a little unfill. Please don't think negatively until you find out for sure. You can't keep that up:) I'm not a veteran or anything - just offering my 2cents

Feeling stressed & overwhelmed these days!
-
I am just plugging along - lol. When I get to feeling like this, I literally take one day at a time, if you need to take an hour at a time, just do that. It is gonna be OK!

I feel you! I am married with 2 kids at home. I have to cook their meals and mine. It's hard. I also work outside the home and I commute a total of 3 hours a day. This is what I do: I buy myself food - easy stuff that's high Protein and easy to make. I make the same meals for my family that I used to make. For myself I buy bags of grilled chicken breast & grilled steak in the frozen food section (Tyson). The chicken & steak are already grilled. It takes like 2 minutes. I buy myself frozen veggies that you can pop in the microwave for 5 min. I buy tuna, egg whites, fresh veggies for omeletes, turkey bacon, Protein Bars, and Protein shakes. The trick is to try to never let yourself get famished! This is the only way I can manage. As far as the working out - I have to get up early and work out before my kids go to school. I also try to walk a couple days a week during my lunch hours. I hope this helps a little wishing you the best!

I've learned on here - if you rant about anything - you are most likely (always) going to get a range of answers and comments and sometimes (always) it's not worth the rant. (My experience)

I wanted some easy dresses for this spring & summer, so I went to Dress Barn. I grabbed some 16, 14, & 12s. The 16 & 14 were too big! The 12 fit perfectly. But, it gets better - I loved this dress and it wasn't in my size, the largest one they had was a 10. It was a little tight, but I got it over my head & technically it fit. I didn't push my luck & I bought the 12. But darn it - I put a 10 on! -
New here, but not so new to lapband. I am strugling and need some inspiration.
jamilyne 102668 replied to ShirleySweet's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Shirley - I am so sorry for your loss. I had two miscarriages too and I completely understand. I know how heartbroken you feel. I know that you have been through a lot and I can understand the emotions and the overeating. Stress does it to me every time. You want to get your body healthy again, just try to put your focus on that right now. Do things that make you happy (besides eating), take long walks (if you can), go outside and enjoy the Spring air, read some good books, take long baths. Be good to yourself. It is going to take some time, but just give yourself that. I hope that you feel better soon. We are all hear to listen -
