Just about every day someone is commenting on how good I look. I still have a long way to go, but it makes me feel good! I'm happy with my decision to do this! I still get a little overwhelmed, but I think I'm doing pretty good :-) Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk -
I weigh all the time (lol) but I know that I'm going to be up and down during the day. Actually, I attribute being this overweight because I didn't have a scale for years and it was kind of like out of sight -out of mind. It makes me accountable and I know right now where I am on that scale! No surprises for me! Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk

Went to the gym Sunday, Monday & Tuesday. Met with the personal trainer yesterday and he have me a workout to follow. Every day this week I've done at least a mile on the treadmill. Not going to go today because I need to spend some time with my kids & need to do a million things when I get home. But I did walk during my break at work. Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk -

I had my first fill yesterday - it didn't hurt like I thought it would. It was a little uncomfortable, but I honestly thought it would hurt more. I got a 2.5 fill, the doctor made me drink 2 cups of water before I could leave. I feel fine. I was banded on 9/13. I could feel a little restriction when I was on the treadmill yesterday. Liquid diet yesterday, today just supposed to eat normally just don't overdo it. We will see Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk -
What did you tell your Employer???
jamilyne 102668 replied to tifflo's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I told my employer and she implemented a rule that no one could eat at their desks while I was going through my liquid diet before surgery. She didn't want anyone eating in front of me. They have been very supportive and someone is always telling me how good I'm looking - so it was the right decision for me every place is different and I get that ! What to tell your kids?

I told my kids. My 8 year old little girl keeps asking when will I have an after picture - lol. I told her I don't have an after picture because it's not after yet - lol. Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk -
I had that problem until about a week after surgery. I had the worst problem. Just make sure you are getting enough fluids, it is really easy to get dehydrated. I had to go into the dr about 4 days after surgery to make sure I wasn't dehydrated. You might want to call the dr to see if they will let you have Imodium - it helped me (but don't get the generic kind because that didn't work for me, but the Imodium cleared if up). You could at least call and ask the nurse. Hope you feel better - it sucks Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk

I have a Winnie The Pooh core too, but I'm working on that. Got a gym membership yesterday and walked a mile on the treadmill (not that much compared to everyone else), but it was an accomplishment just to get into the gym, sign up, and go back then do a mile on the treadmill. I have that chubby girl mentality that goes along with a gym and I'm embarrassed and don't want anyone looking at me or being disgusted. But, no one even noticed me (lol). And while Winnie the Pooh is cute- I'm not going for that look lol Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk -

Well I had one today. My husband and I just joined our local gym today. Im still really nervous about it because I'm overweight it makes me embarrassed. But anyways - you get a free tshirt so I'm like I need a 2x - so she gives me to 2x it was really really big, so she gave me a 1x and it fits. I know this sounds so minimal, but I almost cried. I thought for sure I needed a 2x. Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk -
5 years later...

I think it is a person choice, but for me - lapband had the least amount of serious complications. I don't think anything that is chosen is 100% guaranteed, but I honestly wish I would have done this sooner. For me, if I would have waited longer there was probably a 100% chance, I would have just gotten bigger. I think that it is necessary to decide with you & your doctor to see what's best for you. I didn't want to have my stomach cut in half and folded over, nor did I want my entire insides re-routed. I know this is a foreign body inside but it's reversible and it is working for me. I wish you the best of luck Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk -
Ok - so I make comments but I usually don't start my own thread - lol. As you all my know, I had my surgery in 9/13. I've been doing pretty good, been eating right and trying to do all the right things. Today I'm going about my business, cleaning up and supper and all that. Well I was taking clothes out of the washer and I leaned over my port. I wasn't being forceful, just leaned over the exact spot of the port. I felt an intense pain on my side -a burning pain. I honestly thought my port was right under the big incision. Well it's not. It's on my right side between the two incisions. I felt it then. I have not had any port pain until today. I don't get my first fill until this Tuesday, so I honestly didn't know where it was. I'm ok now. I think I just pulled it a little - it doesn't hurt like that anymore. I know I am not supposed to be lifting and stuff like that and I've been pretty good about it. I just forgot. I know that if it keeps bothering me or if I have any more pain, I will call the doctor. It has subsided and I am ok now. Has this ever happened to anyone. Im going to be 45 this month - so I'm not as young as some of you all either - lol. Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk

Just walk and walk - days 3 and 4 were so bad for me, then somehow it got dramatically different from day 5 on. I started feeling a little better every day. The pain in your upper left shoulder sucks! Warm fluids also helped me (like warm broth and hot tea). Also I know it hurts to breathe deep, but breathe deep a few times an hour and that helped me too. Take care - it's going to be ok & it will pass;) Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk

Our pics being used in the media?
jamilyne 102668 replied to DELETE THIS ACCOUNT!'s topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Carolina girl & missy - I'm so sorry that pictures got placed out side of the site & I'm glad you deleted your pics. I almost put my picture up because I felt a that I had lost enough weight where I wouldn't be embarrassed. People are so mean - I honestly couldn't talk about these things with anyone else, because other people don't understand & I'm a private person. I honestly don't complain about anything dealing with my surgery because I don't want a sneed comment my way saying that I chose this. You two have lost massive amounts of weight and you both have helped me with things on here and I appreciate it very much. Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk -
