The holy grail of the scale
jamilyne 102668 replied to cheryl2586's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I need to take this advice. I have lost a good amount of weight and I am not trying to lose weight fast or anything. I have had only 1 fill since 9/13/13 and I weigh myself every time I am near my bathroom and I am obsessed and I need to stop. I have stayed the same weight for a few weeks and I'm doing the same things and I know what to do and what not to do, just need to focus on other things and not the freakin scale! -

The only thing I know is that it works for me! -
I also have a fitbit flex. If you forget to tap it for sleep you can go and manually enter your sleep time (with the time in & out of bed). I have taken a shower with mine, but to he honest I'm not sure how many steps you are doing during that amount of time, so I use that time to charge it. I really like mine. I used to check it constantly, but now I can just check it one or two times a day - it's a fun way to keep track

5 ways to heal your body from held in “Emotional Baggage”
jamilyne 102668 replied to Mary Jo Rapini's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Magazine
Very good article. I can definitely relate. I've had a lot of emotional trauma in my 45 years and have suffered with depression and was hospitalized in Jan 2010 for it for 5 days. Every Jan 17 I think about that day and thank God that I was given a second chance to live. See, I didn't think that anyone loved me although I was surrounded by a whole family that did. My feelings were distorted and I thought my family would be better off without me. What was I thinking with 4 kids & a husband who loved me? I was completely overwhelmed and I wanted to stay in bed all the time and sleep and eat my way through life. My husband literally saved my life and took me to the hospital and over time I got ok. I got my emotional well being under control and then on 9/13 I got my eating under control. Life is good today for me and you truly can overcome depression with the right help! Sorry this is so deep, but this article brought back that incident that I keep inside me and never talk about. -
Plateau Already?
jamilyne 102668 replied to ashlee.819's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Don't be worried! The same thing happened to me - I was pretty much sedentary and I started the gym - I was working out every single day for about an hour and I gained weight. I was very frustrated. I was eating very good and exercising and I thought wth - but I was losing inches and then all of a sudden I got on the scale and lost like 5 pounds. You are doing wonderful! Just don't get discouraged! -

Wearing a pair of pants that I haven't worn in awhile, today will be the last day, they are practically falling off of me - the legs look like deflated balloons (lol). Also tried on two shirts this morning and they were just hanging off of me - so I changed again. I have bought a few new clothes, but not really enough to keep me going all week - going to have to get a few things this weekend Please somebody else post on here - it looks like I'm the only one with some NSVs and it looks like I'm hogging up this thread!!! lol (jk) -

Went on a walk with my 9 year old for an hour/ had a great time - this was the sunset tonight -
I have fitbit flex and I really like it! Monitors your sleep and steps, I also am on my fitness pal and it syncs well together. I have had it for 2 weeks - I've lost more weight since I've had it. I have a sit-down job and this reminds me that I need to be moving!

Well said!

I've had steak, but I get the flat-iron steak and I've done ok .. The only bread that I eat is the low calorie bread (35 calories) - I buy it and put it in the freezer because it takes me 2 weeks to eat a loaf & I almost always toast it. The only thing I ever got stuck on was a piece of honeydew - I choked on it & thought I was going to die!
