For me - choosing the lapband was the best choice. One of the main reasons I chose the lapband is that I wasn't cutting and re-arranging my insides. Don't get me wrong, I know there could be problems with all wls - including lapband. But, the lapband is reversable. Just do your homework - I'm not saying anything bad whatsoever about any other surgery - because in the end we all want the same thing (to lose weight and feel & look better, to be healthier). Also, be careful with fills and just make sure that you choose a doctor wisely - a lot of problems with lapband users are because of aggressive fills and doctors that choose to be aggressive with the fills. There seems to be more issues with fills and being too tight than anything else relating to issues with the lapband.

Everything is gonna be ok! It's ok to be a little afraid of the unknown - and to miss the home that you have had for so long! But you will make good memories at your new home with your family! Just remember your home isn't always a building or a house- it's where your family is!

Wow - I've been on a lot : weight watchers - at one point I lost 30 pounds then had a baby, so that went out the window lol Nutrisystem - very expensive - you get a lot of food and it was alright but it tasted a little plasticy. I was so mad I only lost 10 pounds and I was diligent! Chinese diet pills - these were pills in a prepackaged amount - so you take about 5 pills like 2 or 3 x a day. I think you get full from swallowing so many pills lol! Hypnotism - yep I did that too - I kind of thought it was funny - so I think that's why it didn't work Acupuncture - I had a needle in my ear and you get it moved around about every week or so - it was suppose to make you not hungry - yea no! Lol Richard Simmons sweating to the oldies- lol - did that tape for a long time - my kids would do it with me! Hcg pills - didn't work; Trim Spa Baby lol - still pills! The shaker crappy stuff that you put on food - didn't work - that stuff is made from silica! Isn't silica the little packages that comes in shoes that says "do not eat"? It gave me migraines! Cabbage Soup diet - really?lol I think that's it for now - if I think of something else I'll post it! Now that's funny & completely and utterly true!

My husband is skinny - 6'3 and weighs about 175. WTH - but he is super sweet & supports me 100%. He has benefited by my weight loss in more ways than one and he is proud of me - he says that I am his trophy wife - ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha - lol

Sugar for me too - I haven't used even a teaspoon since I've had surgery! I was addicted to sweet tea before now I drink peach tea (crystal lite) or unsweetened!

Secretly I get angry that some people can eat whatever they want and not exercise and still look great. I'm one of the ones that still after wls has to watch what I eat, count calories,weigh myself all the time and exercise! Obsessed with the weight that I still have to lose - ugh!

You know - I read all these remarks that people have said to all of you (and me too) and whether you are struggling to lose weight and someone says something snide about that or - you do lose weight and someone has snide remarks about that too! ALL of us are just doing the best we can - if that meant wls - then so be it!

What a very sweet post and tribute to your brave sister! I'm sure you gave her so much joy and for you to throw her that party and just have fun with her as she was in her last days - was just so special! It's always so sad those last days and you made it memorable for her! I think you are Christian by reading your posts - and you know Jesus was there waiting for her - I know she looks from heaven on you and your brother-in-law!
