Share Your NSVs Here Please!

As of rite now my list is short(I'm only down 30lb 2 1/2 mo post op), but I know it will get longer. I only get on the scale at my Dr. appointments and try to not use it as a measure of my success. My once tight jeans falling off Seeing my boobs when I look down instead of my stomach.lol Feeling hip bones, collar bones, and ribs Crossing my legs And although I don't yet see it I love when people tell me I look different and thinner -

How often do you get fills?
danyc replied to donna12's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded on August 9,2013 and got my first fill a month later, but since then I have went every 2 weeks and he adds .5-1cc each time. just got my 3rd fill yesterday. I'm losing about 5lb every two weeks and at a total of 30lb lost. I hope to get to the green zone soon. -
I was pretty emotional myself after surgery. I would cry and wonder why did I do this. I think a lot of mine was being scared of living a"thin" life. I have always been over weight so it was my normal and I'm not one to handle change well.. I also felt discomfort where my port and bands were feeling them when I say a certain way or laying on my side.. 2 months post op and I no longer feel it, and this weight can't come off fast enough. Things will get much better.

I think the progress you have made so far is great, but I can understand your disappointment I felt the same way when I went for my first fill on 9/7/13 and had not lost as much as I wanted. You should maybe also consider that since you are working out that maybe the scale isn't going down because you are building more muscle which weighs more than fat. So try measuring inches instead of pounds.. Just a thought.

I agree that you need to give it time. I was banded on 8/9/13 and just got my first fill today. I have lost in the last month a total of 25lb, but I had to have a lot of self control because at times I felt so hungry, but realized it was just in my head and I really didn't need to eat rite then. When you are use to eating a lot as we did before surgery it's gonna be hard to change those habits, so just be strong, take it one day at a time and you will start to lose.

I'm not using it only for calories, but also to kind of help me make sure I am making the good food choices and getting the protein, vitamins, ect that I need. I was only banded on August 9,2013 so I am still learning what is good and not good for me to eat, and what foods will benefit me the most. I obviously made bad food choices before and I'm working hard to succeed and break those habits.

I love that app. I log everything I eat and I'm surprised now that I only consume about 600-650 calories a day but I'm never hungry. Before my band it was at least 2500 a day..

You should be fine by the 20th as long as you don't have any complications. We did it the day after my surgery as he had just got home from being out of town for a month and I couldn't wait. Being on top worked best as I could control everything, and now 3 weeks later everything is back to normal and I have had no issues with my band or incisions because of it.

Not being able to drink milk would be awful.. Since my surgery I crave milk so bad.
