Dehydration & Strictures
gomekast replied to VanessaVSGforme's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Strictures can happen at any time. I had a double stricture fresh from surgery and opted to let it work itself out on its own. That said...hydration is still an issue for me and i am 2 years post op. -
Data showing long - term post op vitamin deficiencies?
gomekast replied to Nomorethickchick's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I will be 2 years post op next month. Just made a call to my group about feeling utter and extreme exhaustion. All of my panels have been great so far so its a big surprise to feel this. I've honestly felt great and amazing up until summer hit. Then in the last month its really gotten bad. But...to be fair, my job has me managing the front end of big box store so I average minimum of 5 miles per shift...and 5/6 shifts a week. I get a ton of exercise so thats not it, clearly. I saw my family practice dr today and next week i see my bariatric group for my 2 year check up. I should also say that I have religiously taken all of my vitamins, but gummy ones. That's one thing my RD wants me to change...she wants the pill form not the gummies. She says gummies don't have all of the necessary things in them. This is just my own experience. I love my sleeve. -
No change for me. Same as last week.

161 this morning! Let me revise my goal to 159.

This is just to update the last poster....i am 20 months post op, started at 290 and am now at 161. The support there at Park Nicollet is great. So glad i went there and that i can still rely on my nurse there at this stage in the game. DM me if your still curious or need advice. -
I Want To See Before & After Pics! (Cont'd)
gomekast replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Well done for you'd hard work. We are of similar height and starting weight. I want to know what was your rate of weight lost per week or month? And what kept you motivated to keep going? Just interested to know. This is the breakdown monthly that i kept for the first year post op. I weigh in regularly, because i feel that it keeps me honest. My tastes have changed since vsg, and i love my greens! I also love to run, but i walk minimum of 40 miles a week for work, so i don't run regularly now at this point. I still stick with a cup of food per meal and can stop when i feel satisfied. I only have 1 Protein bar per day....shakes are not regular at all now...their only as needed, if im sick or out running. My food of choice when out is a salad tho....i keep it simple. Hope this helps! -

Feeling a Bit.....well....Unwelcome?
gomekast replied to livvsmum's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I know I'm a little late to this party but its exactly why I stopped coming here. But....as I approach my 2 year post op mark, it's a balance I sometimes struggle with finding. I've come back here to the vets forum recently looking for honest vets I can relate with. After a 10 month break from here I need the support this forum offers. -
Weigh in for me this week is 163! Not bad with spending the week camping..thought for sure I'd gain but I didn't! I weigh in on Sunday's, hope you don't mind! So this is the weight for the 15th.

I'd like to join in. Starting weight is 164. Goal is 160. Thank you!!

I need this. Finding head hunger is at times out of control and I really want the last 10 lbs to come off. I admit to rarely hitting my Fluid goals but then my program always just says minimum of 48 oz per day. I hit that usually but can not seem to get more than around 50 or 55 oz. Sleeve still doesn't tolerate fluids too well. So it's just shake, Water til 1st fluid goal, yogurt, more water til 2nd fluid goal, Protein and then protein? I'm down.

Its time for another challenge! This challenge will be beginning with the first weigh in on Friday September 5th. From there on after, weigh ins will take place Fridays. Last weigh in will be Friday October 31st. This will allow a total of 9 weigh ins in all. I will post the link for the spreadsheet once its the week of. Few reminders. -Weights will be entered in whole numbers. -please post weigh ins here in this post only. -we are all here to support each other..so questions posted here will be answered by anyone else willing to help. -if you want to adjust your goal weight, just add that in any reply to this post. -if you miss a weigh in...no biggie. Just report back in the next week. -this is an amazing tool to help us all! Make it fun, challenge yourself, and cheer on the rest of the pack! -I'm no excel expert. I can do only the basics. So this isn't a fancy spreadsheet by any means. But I will keep it up to date and do my best to report the onderlands and other big crossings as I am able to. I do have young kids and I also work too. So some weeks i'm not able to update until a few days after report in day. It will be done. Lastly, you will know it is updated once I have liked your post. Have fun with this! Challenge yourself in new ways! Join us for the halloween challenge! http://track.bariatricpal.com/track/click/14368495/onedrive.live.com?p=eyJzIjoiOWQzWk13NnlkVFk5b0pfVlFPcHJsZk9uRHFzIiwidiI6MSwicCI6IntcInVcIjoxNDM2ODQ5NSxcInZcIjoxLFwidXJsXCI6XCJodHRwczpcXFwvXFxcL29uZWRyaXZlLmxpdmUuY29tXFxcL3JlZGlyP3BhZ2U9dmlldyZyZXNpZD1CQUQ5QzlDODg2ODE4QTU5ITM5MCZhdXRoa2V5PSFBQ3VCX2F6MTNrZnluZ2tcIixcImlkXCI6XCI4YzBjYzFmNWJlNTM0YjhhYmVhOTBiMjA4YWY5NmZhMFwiLFwidXJsX2lkc1wiOltcIjlhZmViNDQ4MGIyMGM3NWY2M2JlMGI2MjY0ZmQwN2I2YzUzMzljZGFcIl19In0
