    8 month post op

Go in and have all your levels checked! I have battled thyroid and PCOS issues for years. It leads me to dark places from time to time. I've battled double depression off and on. Do you have a therapist you can meet with to have a session or two? I count on my sessions, have for 8 years.
  5. This is me tonight....I'm meeting my surgeon for the first time in the morning. Already have approval for it from ins., just need to talk to him, and set up the day. Holy bananas I'm nervous!
  6. It's pretty common to have those after sleeping with the fan directly blowing on you all night. I sleep with mine on, but I avoid the head area. It blows on my legs and feet because I tend to stick my feet out of the covers to keep me cool at night. Good luck to you! Relax and try to not stress about it.

    Caffeine withdrawals!

I tried to quit the coffee yesterday...the pounding started at 3-4pm. 6pm I felt like I was going to barf. 8pm if I moved at all I could see my heart beat with little spots in the outer edges in my field of vision. 3am I got out of bed to take another dose of Tylenol PM. Still had the pounding. Needless to say I had one cup today. I see the surgeon tomorrow and get my surgery date.
  9. I've also done a 7 day juice fast, but am finding it pretty difficult to wrap my head around my 10 day all liquid Protein pre op diet. But lucky for me, I have another few days until I've got to start it. I find out my surgery date tomorrow and then it becomes real.

    Starving on Pre-op

Omg...I decided to do a trial run of my pre op diet. Did great until dinner time. Had a slice of pizza. Then a migraine hit and hasn't left yet. Feeling barfy too. I'm glad I did this trial run, because if this was the real deal...I'd be in trouble. I find out my surgery date hopefully this week, so I will know when I really need to start it for real.
  11. Forgot one thing. My local grocery store has the lactaid brand cottage cheese and frozen ice cream. Their a little pricier but worth it for variety sometimes. Ask your local store to carry it of they don't have it.
  12. You can still have soy milk! I've been lactose intolerant for years. I don't like popping pills, so I've just gone without the other things I used to love. I can however still eat brick cheeses in small doses. I can occasionally have a yoplait thick and creamy without issues tho. My pcp said that once all the lactose is out of your system from abstaining for a period of time, to start out small. Have just one yogurt a day. Limit it to just the one per day. See how that goes. So, I do go threw period where I will do that. He said that every person has a set point where the body just can't handle lactose...starting out with the one yogurt per day and if ur really missing it to gradually build on that one a day.

    Sleevers by profession.

I've been a stay at home mom for the last 4 years. Currently I am the cleaning crew at the apartment complex we live at, it's super flexible and works with the kids schedules. I clean the apts between move outs and move ins. Previously, I was a medical manufacturing line lead operator. I was in charge of 40 operators and we made ICD's, defibrillators, and batteries for the devices. Oh, I also was a trainer at Planet Hollywood years ago.
  14. I've got hypothyroidism and surgery being scheduled this week. It will not prevent it from happening, most drs are not open to wls. None of my drs from the past would've been open to me doing this, I just happened to change pcp to so a dr that is totally open to it. Heck, he's the one that referred me. But I can say that no other dr would've given me the green light. They'd rather tell me I was a failure and have me pop pills.

    Starting liquid diet next week

Hmm, I can see why. The regular MM is higher in calories. The mm light is on my list of acceptable rtd shakes. It's lactose free, and I am very lactose intolerant pre op. My choices are pretty limited.

    Dehydrated

Look at the sugar content of it. Lower the better.

    Why?

It happens. Fear and anxiety will cause that reaction in me. I journal and I've had a psyhc for 8 years. I see her monthly and it's been an amazing tool. I try to keep my hands and head busy so that I have little time to think or dwell. Good luck, hope you figure it out sooner than later.

How to make shakes taste better

The only place I found it where I live is whole foods. Way out of my way but worth it.
