That sounds right to me also. I am on an all liquid high protein diet and I've been tracking daily. Those numbers are consistent with what I've been consuming as well. I'm on day 11 right now... And have 5 more until surgery day!

I'm up in Minnesota. Having it in the twin city metro area. Today is day 11 of my pre op diet.
-
Same surgery date as you! I'm on day 10 of the pre op. Ready for next week.

I had nova sure oct 2010. Had a period the next month...following month I had two periods. I was a nova sure failure for sure. Had a hysterectomy in May of 2012 after nearly non stop periods again. It is possible to still get periods after nova sure. Go in and talk to your obgyn.

2 week diet starts today.....
gomekast replied to betty20032001's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Today was day 10 of my pre op diet, surgery is the 22nd. I've had ups and downs. I have been making my first two shakes of the day with soy milk, otherwise I feel starved. (Lactose allergy, hence the soy) I initially felt over the hump around day 5. Then hit another wall on day 9. The body is doing things in stages. I've had several uhh...bouts of random diarrhea at different points, when nothing has changed. Have had random bouts of just feeling kinda flu like, only to discover a drop in pounds the next morning. I also am not able to keep up at work, I'm a one person cleaning crew at an apartment complex. Take it easy and really listen to your body. Slipping up is super dangerous during pre op..set yourself up for success by deciding that your long term health means more than any food right now. After all, why do this if your going to not follow the rules? I've been cooking meals for my family still, and have 2 small kids. I get the temptation...but get your heads in the game now ladies! You'll thank yourself down the road! Listen to your body, follow your guidelines given to you, and just breathe. You'll be fine. :-) -
I quit allina. Lol. Their doctors are the reason I'm in the condition I am currently. Health partners and park Nicollet have moved in up here and I'm grateful for that! I'm actually having surgery next week! Oct 22nd, at 1pm. I've been on my pre op diet since Oct 6th. Not too bad, but I miss my garlic and onions.

I kind of feel the same way. I'm up next week on the 22nd. Time seems to have flown by. I was a hormonal hot mess yesterday morning. My family really stepped up tho and rallied to help me make it threw the day. Hope today is smooth sailing for you, and remember to breathe! Lots of luck for tomorrow!

I've had the opposite problem. I've had the #3's all week. Wish it would stop but know it won't until about December. Oh well.

What questions should I ask?
gomekast replied to john-nj's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I asked about what his post op pain management plan was. I had a major surgery last year and pain was not managed at all. That's about all I was worried about. Just think about what will comfort you knowing. -
I'd Sell My Soul For A Sandwich
gomekast replied to Sleeve Siren's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My husband and I thought up a way to try to make garlic chicken jello. Lmao! Not quite THAT desperate yet...but I've got a ways to go yet. -

I got mine off their website. But they do ship fast. I tried the sample package first and then just yesterday got my jug of the chicken. Little cup of heaven and I have that while family eats what I've cooked. -
I'd Sell My Soul For A Sandwich
gomekast replied to Sleeve Siren's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
For me, I've had zero hunger...I'm just longing for a different taste besides vanilla and chocolate. The NUT agave me some excellent ideas but still. I'm ready to just lick some garlic for a different taste! -

gomekast replied to Sleeve Siren's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'd give an eye for garlic right now. I'm on day 7, with 10 days left. It's getting easier every day. But the unjury chicken soup and sf jello sure seem like gourmet to me! -
Ha! I haven't been kissing anyone in my family on the lips. My kids get it but don't like that rule. We do kisses on cheeks until after my surgery. Also, been washing my hands like crazy too. My big day is the 22nd and I don't want to push it back,

Mine is 5-6 8oz shakes per day, and sf jello, broth, tea and coffee. I would say stick with the sf jello and broth yes. I'm the same day as you are for surgery.

How much did you lose on the liquid diet?
gomekast replied to Disabledaccount's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm on day 6 and I've lost 9 so far. I keep going until the 22nd. Had muscle spasms in my legs yesterday. Energy is really varying a lot from day to day. Not sure about my tounge...don't care enough to look at it. My sense of smell has reached epic levels tho..I could smell sliced cheese and crackers from across the house last night. Freaked out my husband. -

October 16th re-born! protein question
gomekast replied to jadira30's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Have you met with your program dietician yet? Mine gave me a Protein goal based on my height 5'8. I'm supposed to be 65-75 grams per day. I'm on day 3 of my all liquid pre op diet as well. My big day is the 22nd. I've found that both unjury, and pure protein are keeping me full. Isopure isn't keeping me full at all. I've been doing chicken broth for dinner tho and it's such a nice change. -
Day 3 Liquids...may eat my arm
gomekast replied to Mel1976's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ooo, I'm excited for your weigh in! I also have mine..I have another NUT visit and I'm stoked to weigh in. Lmao..for possibly the first time ever! -
I know I haven't been here as long as you vets have(and I'm not getting sleeved til 22nd), but lately there seems to be so much "Your liquid diet is going to suck way worse as you go, just watch out" or "the pain post op will be the worst pain you'll ever feel" kind of stuff. I'm just annoyed that others would drive fear into their posts when a lot of people are already scared.

Day 3 Liquids...may eat my arm
gomekast replied to Mel1976's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
For the record, today I feel like I have the most energy I've had in years. I'm on day 3 of all liquid Protein pre op, and day 5 for no caffeine. scale says lost 10 so far. I want to believe it so badly, but trying to forget about that part. I'm also just finishing my first shake of the day..I've been busy but up and awake for 4 hours now. -

gomekast replied to Mel1976's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I got the sf Torani from cost plus world market. They've most of the flavors in regular and sugar free. I've also bought off the Torani website too. They are great to have to change up flavors when I want! :-) -

gomekast replied to Mel1976's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I added some sugar free peppermint Torani to my vanilla Protein shake...little slice of heaven there. I've got it here now with decaf tea. Family is eating hot dogs, apple slices and celery. The celery looked devine! -

gomekast replied to Mel1976's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Decaf shouldn't be an issue. I'm having some right now. If it's got caffeine in it, check with your program. Some don't want u to have the caffeine.
