Help! Feeling crappy again..
gomekast replied to callchrissy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I 2nd that thanks...I get to purée next week on the 13th. Never thought I would be excited to purée meat but I am. Told my 7 year old and he sat and thought about it and decided he wants to try since it's what I will be eating. -
this may start a riot.

I watch the love boat when I'm soaking in a hot bath...with the kids fighting over who gets to sit closest to the screen so they can watch too. -

I see my therapist every 4 weeks to help deal with all the changes I'm going threw. Have you thought about utilizing any therapists near you? -
Your going to have to continue to drink the shakes post op, so what another post above says to find one you like is true. That said, days 3-5 and generally the worst for people. Find a hobby to resume or pick up for the pre op diet. I did 15 days of pre op diet, and I'm 15 days post op. I haven't chewed food in a month. It's all about getting your head in the right place early on to ensure your success. I took tons of hot baths pre op while my family ate what I cooked. Get your heads in the game early on folks and the rest will take care of itself. You can totally do this..myself and many many before me have too. :-)

I used gas x strips and they worked within about a half hour. Also, I slept with a heating pad on my belly the first two nights home. Took all the swelling down. The nurses in the hospital started the heat thing before I was even awake. Congrats! -
Amen to this!

Call me <evil> but...

Same here. I can't wait to see the look on my bro in law and his skinny wife. They've never made comments to our face, but he is a doctor so he has asked questions and knows some of our attempts. I have one person that isn't a friend per say anymore, but was. She is real full of herself, thinking she was the healthiest out of the two of us. She is vegetarian yet struggles with pretty high cholesterol..yet she's always sort of made her comments about my diet struggles. If only I did things her way I would look like her etc. I can't wait to see the look on her face next year when we run into each other. Never telling her either. Ever. :-) -

You got this! You really got this!! And I took my scale out old yeller style a few weeks ago. Course, now I have a new digital but it only step on it first thing in am after first potty. Then carry on with my day. It keeps me accountable and in check. If I don't get on it daily, in the past, that's when I'd get out of control again. But I love love love my tiny tummy now! Never hungry..now I just forget to drink my Water..working on that. -

When did you stop cleaning your inscisions and just let them air out and heal naturally?
gomekast replied to Italiancurves's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm two weeks post op and my incisions are not fully healed yet. They are partly, but not all the way. -
Here is an example.

I'm drinking fresh veggie juice from greens. I use a breville juicer we have. Do lots of kale, spinach, cucumber, carrots, and a few piece of fruit to balance out the taste. It zips the pulp all out and leaves me with just fresh juice and no chunks or pulp. One cup a day and I sip on it through out the day.

I'm still on full liquids. Move to purée on the 13th.

I've been taking mine since I was in the hospital, whole. Was never hard or got stuck. No worries, you won't have to do anything strange to get it down. Also, just an idea of what I was up against..I had a sleeve that was swollen shut too for the first day. Still managed to get the whole thyroid pill down starting on day 2. You'll be fine!

Minimizing the potential for excess skin.
gomekast replied to Sleevie J's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Someone on another thread about this same issue said they used some skin firming lotion you can buy at the stores. I bought a bottle of something skin firming, and plan to use it daily once my incisions are all healed up. I'm only two weeks post op and I can see my belly getting wrinkly already.
