    Acne prone skin..

I must be one of very few that proactiv makes me look like I had burns to my face.

I'm Eating. At 1 Am This Morning. Wth?!

When I did have aunt flow, I'd eat like a horse. But I also had pretty out of control PCOS too. I always knew I'd be getting it based on just my eating habits.

    cycles, wtf is happening?

Maybe a call to dr if possible. I would say it's just hormones going crazy. Do you have PCOS or any other period/hormone known issues? If you were a PCOS gal, I'd say it's just par for the course.

    Do I Spend The $150?

What does your surgeon think? I'd ask him..
  5. Ok, it made my head slightly want to blow up..but I got it. I've already lost 23%! Awesome!
  6. This is normal. Day 5-6 I finally was able to drink more. But experiment with lots of calorie free beverages. Tap water didn't work for me, but propel zero did and still goes down best. I'm 2.5 weeks post op now. And I sill burp up with each swallow of anything. Think that's normal for at least a while.

    Steri Strips!

Call your dr office Monday morning and ask. Mine stayed on, and I was told to take them off on day 11. My incisions are still sort of puffy and red. Nothing oozing or looking infected at all. I took showers each day and I'm a side and tummy sleeper. I'm 2.5 weeks post op now.
  8. Oh gosh..I couldn't drink hardly anything for days 1-5. But do what she says above..make sure you sit up straight and stay up straight. Remember to take the small sips..but not too small. I would have to watch a timer and time my sips out while in the hospital. Good luck! Oh, I do burp up a lot of air each and every time I have anything at all. That's fairly common..I've heard it referred to as bubble guts among many other things.

5 Days Out From Surgery.. Poop?

It takes your other organs time to wake back up as they say. Some drs say miralax if it goes too long, but always call your program and ask a nurse or dr!
  10. At first I could drink no problem, but now, as time goes on I'm more like bonbon says above. Days 1-5 couldn't drink much at all Days 6-15 no issues drinking at all Days 16-current..I can feel the restriction coming on as the meds completely leave my system. I feel significant restriction. My water goes down slower than her tho. It will take me aprox 3 hours to drink my 24oz water bottle. A 8oz shake is now about 30 minutes. But like I said, days 6-15 I could sort of chug. Hope this helps.

    Vet's Forum

If your not a vet, I read that it will be read only in that one.
  12. I would have to agree, ditch the soups and you should see some loss. Good luck!

    Day 4 Post Op. Starving!

If your saying you miss food, then I'm willing to bet its head hunger that is just rearing it's head. It can be sneaky and it'll creep up on you. Work on not missing food so much, make peace with the fact that your relationship is completely different now with food. Have you been in any talk therapy? It may help you come to terms with this..I see my therapist every 4 weeks..have for 8 years. She made me realize just how my life revolved around food, when I honestly didn't know it did. Good luck. If you don't try to get over missing the food, you'll have a pretty rough post op recovery. I'm 18 days post op and haven't chewed food since October 5th. Relax and try to focus on something else.

    no loss

Ditto that one! Give yourself a break! "Only 12?!" To keep it in perspective, minus the surgery, how long would it have taken you to lose that same 12? Be kind to yourselves people! Jeepers, it's not a race!
  18. It all depends on what your ins requires. Mine did not require it but the majority do still. Good luck on your journey!

    its now a reality

Get sample packets only...to try out different Protein powders. I lived with my heating pad first few days home. I actually slept with it each night for a good 4 days straight. Took all the swelling down in no time too! Don't go crazy buying stuff you won't otherwise use. I didn't have a problem with tastes changing. Good luck!
  22. It's common when your losing weight! I live in Minnesota, and the below freezing temps have arrived. But I like having layers on..hence the reason I live up here. I did read few days ago that your body balances out eventually, but not for several months. :-)

CHEWING FOOD AND SPITTING IT OUT!

I was quizzed over this behavior pre op. My program will not proceed with the pre op process if you say it's anything but wrong. My initial reaction to hearing this was..that's a slippery slope that leads right to eating disorder-ville. It sends so many confusing signals to your subconscious and it's very dangerous for sure. I mean, do I really want to go from food addict to bulimia? It is a very serious issue. If you think it's not, then you really do need more 1 on 1 time with a psychologist and a NUT.
  24. I'm finding the same thing. Can't see the last reply of threads. At least it's not just me.
  25. I drank whatever clear beverage I could get down. Honestly, it's hard to say what your sleeve will tolerate post op. I'm 17 days post op and it's changed day to day. Propel zero worked most of the time for me. SF Jello in occasional spoonfuls went down. And unjury chicken Soup went down slowly. I was just focused on water/propel zero and didn't have much room for much else. Also, nerves were numb still at that point, so I couldn't really tell when I was full from many liquids. My only advice is follow your plan that your dr or program gives you. Good luck everyone! Even with my sleeve swollen shut the first day and a half, it was an easier surgery than my hysterectomy. :-)
