    Your favorite PROTEIN BARS?

I've only tried the pure protein bars so far. Their filling and around 16-19 total grams carbs. Their my candy bars. But I really limit my daily carbs so those are for days where I need carbs. I've got PCOS and hypothyroidism. .so I really limit the carbs big time.
  2. I've got young kids. So we've had Cookies, chocolates and my all time fave..homemade chex mix in the house. The only thing I was tempted by was the chex mix. I see it every day. But I miss the nuts out of it more than anything. I'm 10 weeks and I really miss pizza. I have to escape the a hot bath when the family had that for dinner..which isn't much these days.

    at the er

I had the same thing at 2/3 weeks post op. But mine was on the right side under my ribs and it radiated to my back. Turned out to be bruised rib. Also, I feel it when I haven't had much Water for the day or when I'm getting backed up. Hope they figure it out and get you home soon!

    Are you COLD?

I live up in Minnesota, so I should be cold this time of year but it's been extreme since losing started. I had to go out and buy long underware and wool socks. I now just dress every morning with my cuddle dub long underware on under my jeans, wool socks on, a tshirt, sweatshirt over tshirt and then heavy wool jacket. I'm still usually cold even then. Evenings when the family is eating something I can't have, I escape to a hot bath. That's the only thing that warms me up all the way.
  5. So, I've lost 58 pounds and this is no longer an issue for me either. I still try like the dickens to make sure tho so every sneeze I super clench up and cross the legs quick. It's habit for me now. But I've not had an issue since losing I'd say about the first 35-40. Good luck!
  6. If you search on this issue you'll find that "bubble guts" ad I've seen it dubbed for some people never go away. I think it tends to stay with most people but some do manage to escape it. I'm 10 weeks and last night I had bubble guts after I ate a light cheese stick.
  7. Wow! 13 days post op for me meant liquids only! Now I'm 10 weeks and my average is 400-650 calories. In the coming weeks your sleeve will change in how much it allows you to have. Some days I can get only 400 in while on others I'm getting (a rare)750 in. The sleeve dictates that.
  8. Have them hot pack your hands or wherever their going to try to stick you. Took the hospital 3 nurses to get mine in. I'm used to it. But the hot packs work great for me.
  9. I'm a Minnesota girl. Maybe it's the cold getting to you too! We've been cooped up for a good 6 weeks now and that'll make anyone crack under pressure. That said...emotions are high post op. Expect that for a few weeks. Allow yourself a time out mentally. My hospital time was my "vacation" as I told my husband. But it was real and scary until I began to feel better. Deep breaths honey!! You'll be great!

    COFFEE ANYONE?

I tried at 6 weeks but it didn't agree with me. Left me with a tummy ache. That was after having just half a cup too. I'm 10 weeks now and would really like it again buy not after how it made me feel last time. I'll try at around the 4 month or later stage and see how it feels then. Good luck! Hope it settles well for you!

    Holy Restriction!

Me too! Lived off the breast meat. Today I had HALF an ounce of it and it came right back up. Finally realized that both times I've barfed and any time I've had the slimes have been because of breast meat. It will take me a while to get used to the thigh and leg. I'd rather have a soy burger than both of those.

    Holy Restriction!

Dark chicken meat sits good with me. Chicken breast does not. The only times I've barfed was due to chicken breat meat. 2x now. I've just decided to stay away from it and stick to my thigh or leg meat.

    Am i prepared enough?!

You are prepared! I had tons of samples I bought while pre op. I had gotten sample variety packs of Syntrax, unjury and bariataric choice. Post op, it's really a shot in the dark as far as what you'll tolerate. Myself, I lived off of sugar free popsicles, unjury chicken soup(it's clear stage friendly), and propel zero in the first 3 weeks. I'm 10 weeks and I just placed another order for variety packs and got a 2nd unjury chicken soup jug. I still can really only tolerate the propel zero for a calorie free beverage. I am still supplementing with the Protein shakes at least once per day. I wasn't cleared for Protein Shakes until week 3..so finding Clear liquids to keep me hydrated and fully was key early on. Good luck, you'll do great!

    Slim Fast Pre Op Diet

Linda, All pre op diets are different!! Each surgeon has different ways. We should be encouraging the op, not telling them they won't like what their doing. Never assume your program is how everyone else's is. Each is unique to what has worked long term for that group. To the op,...my pre op diet was 5 shakes per day. That was it. No food. I could've used the high Protein slim fast, if it could be found. I stuck to pure Protein powder since it was easier to find for me. The slim fast high protein powder was and still is very difficult to find in my area. Do you have any other choices available to you besides that? If not, I would ask your nurse clinician.

    vitamins.

All depends on your program. Mine had us start week 4 post op...taking chewable with the puree foods. Could switch to pill form about week 6ish..but they all made me not feel so well.

    Juicer for christmas

I have. I'm only 10 weeks pot op tho. My family juiced before my surgery and still does after my surgery. We do mainly green veggies. But I can only have a little bit of it per day. We stay away from fruit in the juicer due to the sugars.

Ok so how much is everyone eating at this poimt?? I'm curious cause I just can't get much down still. Ounces of Protein per meal approximately?
  18. Without the shakes I can barely hit my goal of 65-70grams. That's super tough because I can't take in much more than maybe 2 oz max of any meat source. And then I'm having to constantly be eating..not good for me either. My sleeve just doesn't allow much. A few nights ago I had half an ounce of a veggie soy burger..and that about pushed me over the edge. Tonight I had 1 oz chicken breast and was stuffed. I do have an appt Friday with my nurse and the nut so it should be interesting.
  19. I'm 10 weeks post op VSG. I've been experimenting with the same thing. If I eliminate the shakes I don't lose a thing. If I add even 1 in per day I lose half a pound per day. My nuts want me to not be having any shakes but I know they work for me. I understand their logic and reasons but I'm just not sure what to do. Keep having 1 shake per day and not tell them or go to all food and lose much slower than everyone else.

How do you know youre full?

    Hiccups are my full indicator.

    How bad is the nausea?

Mine lasted a good few weeks post op. I had the patch, and 3 different types of shots n meds. Nothing worked for me.

    Can eat less than before

I am 10 weeks post op and I have days where I can get an easy 800 calories in but then the next day I can only really do 350 calories. I tend to have 1 or 2 days per week where I get really low calories in like that. Those are the days I stick to liquid shakes of some sort. That said...I think maybe your at the point where i was at at your weeks post op..the numbness of my surgery and the sleeve had worn off and I could at that point really feel the fullness. I had to relearn a little bit at that point. Like the others have said..it's worth a call in the ask about it. Never hurts. They'd rather you called than not.
  23. Ooo, I love hearing this seela! There are 5 nuts in my program so I never see the same one. None of them want us on shakes past a certain point and I know this. But I just can't get all the food in some days. It's just too tough. Then other days like yesterday, I feel like I had the never full evil sleeve. I also do better when I start my day on a shake. Nor sure why.

    Just not feeling good!

I have to agree with the poster above me. I wasn't cleared to do soft solids until week 4. Even then most things didn't sit well. I'm now 10 weeks and things still don't sit well no matter how well I chew them. Stick to your program guidelines...you'll feel better if you do.
