I am the same weight...167. Thank you Susan for doing this!!
-
I echo the others. Call your dr. I lived with that pain for about 8 months, maybe more. Finally had it removed the end of July and I've not had the pain anymore. However, there will be a period after removal where you will need to be in close proximity to a bathroom to run to at a moments notice. That's usually temporary tho.

Ok..so here's my stats... SW 167 GW 160

I've been trying but for some reason it wont let me copy and paste the link....eek!
-
I've had a few private questions about it...it should go on. I feel horrible asking for someone else to do it, but my spreadsheet skills are bare minimum and I didn't think it would be an issue. But with working full time again, keeping up with my 2 young kids, it's just too much to do. I just dont have the time to update it and work on improving my excel skills. Otherwise, I'll get to it on Monday, which is my next day off.
-
I did not yet. All you do is create an excel spreadsheet on www.onedrive.com and it gets hosted there as a shared document. I made my own when I took over for Bea, so I recommend just making your own up. I work full time again...for the first time since having kids, have 2 young kids, and all their school stuff to keep up with. I have not created anything yet for this challenge, so you'd be starting this out on your own. You could create the spreadsheet, get everyone on it and all their stats put into it, and then maybe create an updated thread so everyone can find the link there easily. Let me know if this works.

Ok everyone. Here's the next challenge. Labor Day! Bear with me as I adjust to taking over the challenges from Bea. http://1drv.ms/1xo5e8r Not sure if this link will work but lets try. I am also not terribly great with Xcel..but I know the basics. First weigh in will be Monday July 7th. That will give us all a total of 9 weigh ins from start to finish, which will be Monday Sept 1st. It will be a long challenge, and will carry us threw the rest of summer and into start of fall. I will post another with the pointers, rules etc for the other challenges. Same apply to this as all of the others. Just make sure to adjust your goals to accommodate for the 2 months we will be in this one. Any suggestions and help is greatly appreciated. I will like the posts as I enter them in, so that will not change.

Anyone willing to take over the challenge? I'm working full time and trying to keep up with my family, and keep this going. I just don't have the time anymore to keep it up. I ts too much. Anyone willing too, just go create the spreadsheet, keep it up over at www.onedrive.com I created my own when I took over, and I only had basic skills. Thanks!

Oh no! That's traumatic. .I'm so sorry for your loss. My last pregnancy I was told it was possibly ectopic, so for 2 weeks I couldn't do a thing except check my temp every few hours. I managed to hold onto that baby until 32 weeks. She is now a healthy 5 year old starting kindergarten on Tuesday. While the loss of both tubes can never be diminished, maybe this was part of a bigger plan for you. Get yourself well honey. There will always be more challenges to join in once your healed up and ready for it!

See the Halloween challenge thread! I set that thread up a week or 2 ago too. It starts on Friday of this week as our first weigh in.

Bariatric vitamins
gomekast replied to Waiting4Sleeve's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I get Vitamins from walgreens. My program does not require any special vitamins, they just specify what to take and how much. That said...has your program recommended any? If not, then just head over to cvs, walgreens or whichever store is near you. Get them there. No need for the special bariatric ones unless your Dr has told you otherwise. I use Alive! For women, Calcium citrate (not calcium carbonate), vit d, and b12. That's it. Good luck on your outcome!! -
I use Syntrax nectar Protein powders. Vitamin shoppes sell it in store. It has zero carbs, which a lot of people watch once you get too a certain point. I briefly used pure protein as well, but my loss slowed down a little bit.

Old Habits At 8.5 Months Out
gomekast replied to Andrew0929's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am terrified of regain also. I am 44 weeks out. I've lost 120 pounds and I see the night time snacking trying to creep back in. I made a new rule...if I am hungry, then I need to have either a scoop of Protein powder or Protein Bar instead of the bites of this and that. Last night I felt the hunger...so I mixed a hot cup of chocolate Protein Powder and took a few small sips of it. Then it sat. It was all head hunger. It will never go away. But...as long as I stick to my rules...if I'm not hungry enuf for the protein bar/powder, then I'm not hungry at all.....then I will be satisfied with that. That said....I don't feel hunger. So you'd think I would know this is head hunger....but nope. I'm still unsure at this point. This will take years of vigilance and I'm ok with that. Best of luck to everyone. -

Calling all veterans-Are there any benefits to the sleeve after a year or so
gomekast replied to jarodnaaron's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm 10 months out..11 next week. Yes, I feel restriction. I have at times felt hunger...but it was acid reflux..so 2 weeks on prilosec cleared that up. How much can I eat? If I eat carbs, I could in theory eat a ton more. Carbs are sliders for most of us post op. Always will be. If I follow the rules...protein first, no fluids 30 before or after eating, no slider foods...then I feel full after about 1 cup of food. That's fairly normal from what my program has told us. However. Every one will have days where you feel like a bottomless pit. That's just hormones. What you choose to do with that is up to you. Is it possible to regain weight? Absolutely it is. Its up to each abd every one of us to be diligent with our choices...forever. Not just for the first year. I have people in my extended circle that had the bypass...each of them eat around it and their all alcoholica now. But their thin. Eek. I love my sleeve. Its also up to only me to make it work...For the rest of my life. If I get relaxed and stop following the basics...then yeah, I'll gain. So..I say this...are you ready to follow the sleeve rules, for the rest of your life? Each day? -
I just created a new thread for the next challenge! The halloween challenge! Only 2 weeks and that will begin! Join us and have some fun with it.

I echo her first paragraph. My RD also challenged me to stop tracking and adopt the hunger trust model. I've hit surgeons goal, and I'm 11 pounds away from my goal. I weigh daily....however....the difference now is that I finally see it as just one tool to this whole journey. It doesn't dictate my day or mental game. I control it. I have the power to walk away from it and not step on it if I choose too. My nurse and RD did tell me that if getting on it daily caused any anxiety or stress etc, that my husband was to hide it from me. That hasn't happened. But it's a delicate balance for sure.
-
Ok guys....things are crazy here. School starting soon, I've been interviewing for jobs...trying to get a couple last few fun things in for the kids. But... People that have hit their goals: jess9395, hiccupingduck, nicey2u, pjpanda. Onederland crossings so far: nicey2u, jennifer0609, hiccupingduck, goonie, fat_free, cutiecake. We have 3 more weigh ins to go!! Let's finish strong! I have 4 more pounds to go til I reach my goal...but at over 10 months post op, it feels like 30 pounds. Have a great rest of the week!!

There wasn't a weight posted. Just the smiley face!
