  1. I wasn't in any hurry to move to the next stage due to not being able to eat much. I still pretty much live off of yogurts, cottage cheese, shakes, soft cheeses and occasional deli meats. I'm 3 months post op. My nurse wasn't alarned by it and said I was doing great so no worries.

APPLE JUICE! HUGE NO NO FOR ME>

Apple juice is a natural diuretic. Some people just can't tolerate it at all. My mom is one. She gets violently ill and is stuck in the bathroom for an hour is she forgets.

  4. So, what does your stricture feel like LL? My nurse told me a couple weeks ago she thought I may have a slight stricture..but said it wasnt a huge deal. I can't eat much for solids...when I do its a few bites and then hiccup time. I can do the soft stuff like cottage cheese or yogurt...but no more than like 2oz at a time. Most meats its 1 oz and done. Cheese is 1oz and done. I get in so little that I don't have much room for any veggie. If I eat more of anything I get the slimes and maybe barf. I've had great weight loss but zero variety. Not complaining tho...I'm happy with the results so far. Just sometimes crave variety or maybe veggies.
  5. I was sleeved 3 months ago and I can't eat a cup of anything yet.

    October 2013 Sleevers Roll call!

Does anyone know how to get into the closed facebook vsg group? I remember seeing it in a post a while back but i just got on the facebook bandwagon. If anyone can point me in thr right direction, that'd be awesome.

    Flintstone Complete?

Call your program and ask them. Each has different rules for vitamins.

    Should I call or wait?

I called my ins company each day until they gave me the approval. I wasn't about to sit back and wait. Good luck..hope you hear soon.
  9. Hey Seela. I've been stalled for a week now. I looked threw myfitness pal and compared the last week to the best weeks I had losing. The difference for me was carbs. The last few days my carbs have krept up...that's the only thing I've done differently. So..I reset my goals on myfitnesspal so that its a little more clear to me. In order to lose, I need to stay at 20-25 carbs or less. Could your carbs be creeping up too?? Just a thought.

    damn this stall

Also..here is something I've done since my journey began. I organized my closet by size. When I hit a stall, I tried on the first pair of pants in the next size down. That way I know how far I've come in a non scale way. I hit a stall that's a week old. I'm 3 months post op..and this is the longest I've been stalled..yet..I'm oddly calm about it. I'm eating right, following my plan, working out..so I know something is happening somewhere. Tried on the next size down and they fit and buttoned/zipped up while I was standing up. So although the scale is the main tool we all use...fitting into smaller stuff is another tool. I also measure myself in 3 spots so I can track inches lost. I'm up to over 20 inches lost.

    Still craving carbs damn it!

Having this surgery is only a small part of the whole journey. It will not take cravings away. .most at some point have the cravings return. I'm a believer in therapy...they can help teach you coping skills to better manage these times. There will always be the cravigs for some people.. just need to learn how to deal with them now since we can't eat all thst stuff now.

    Could be normal

If your only 6 days post op then your able to drink like that because your sleeve is still numb from surgery. Measure out everything religiously until you feel the numbness wear off. And you will feel it in coming weeks.

    Pcos question...

I'm 3 months out and mine has slowed down. Still there but much more manageable now, I still take my metformin tho.

    Sleep Apnea & Books

I 2nd this book...my surgeon said he liked that book the best because they covered nearly everything.

    6-8 bites

I'm 13 weeks out and most times I can't get much more than maybe 2 ounces of anything solid...yogurts I can get up to about 3.5 ounces. I used to measure...then the numbness wore off and I could easily tell when I was full. Turns out it doesn't take much...I call my sleeve Gloria and she's temperamental. Some days she hates food...other days like today, she feels like a garbage disposal.

    Low grade fever normal?

I ran a low grade fever off and on for a couple of weeks post op. I'd call and since that was my only complaint, they were not worried as long as it didn't turn into something worse...but I was on guard tho. Nothing ever happened and at the one month mark it stopped. The more I slept...the lower it would go. So I just tried to sleep as much as I could. Call and ask tomorrow. Each program deals with this stuff differently.
  17. So, I have a lot of similiar things you speak about. Rings dont fit me..only my class ring does but I'm not wearing that in lue of my wedding ring. I also took my measurements so I could compare when I didnt see the scale moving much. I've gained some height back! I've officially gone back up to 5 foot 9! And I stayed in the same size stuff for the first..30-40 pounds. Then from 40 to current 68 lost, I literally flew down 3 sizes. It was nuts. It happens fast once you hit a certain point. But I do still measure weekly to get a better gage on how its moving and settling.

    Damage to Sleeve

    I'm the same exact way!!
  19. gomekast

    coffee

I tried it post op around week 6ish...no good. No matter how I tried it...with or without Protein powder, watered down...it just tore up my tiny sleeve and left me sick all day. But....I'm now 13 weeks post op and can now tolerate it. I can have a kcup cup cooled down with Protein Powder added to it just fine.
  20. Exactly! That's the best part for me too. Although now I find myself forgetting to eat enough. I'm still totally ok with that too.
  21. I was the same way. My nurses didnt blame me and said it was not a big deal. I did what another poster said and took my time. If I wanted to try puree chicken I did..but stuck with the yogurts and shakes. Now, 3 months post op, I have a tiny sleeve that doesn't allow for much. I like it that way too.
  22. Could it maybe be sodium intake is up? Also, I used to get super bloated after my oeriod like that before I had my lady parts removed. It wouldn't shock me if it was just hormones or sodium. Still sucks tho and I get it. Im up 3 for no reason as well..and its day 3 of the 3 day bloat.

    DRY HEAVES HELP!

So...I get the dry heaves if I go too long without Water. I get them if I wait too long between waking up and having my Breakfast shake. I get them if I haven't brushed my teeth... I get them easily...always have. Does any of this sound like what your maybe going threw?

    Wasteful!

In all honesty, for me...that mindset is partly why I became so fat to begin with. I've been in therapy for now 9 years to get over this phobia. Happy to report that I cook smaller portions for my husband and 2 young kids. If they complain about being hungry they've learned that they can fill up the rest of the way on veggies. Im 3 months post op and don't eat what my family eats for dinner yet. My sleeve allows so little to begin with so I focus on the Protein that I need and that's anywhere from 2 oz to 4 oz max.
