I going to be banded this month on the 22nd im a town over in Bolingbrook

I didn't have to do the nutritionist or the sleep study because I told him symptoms are present. I did the psych evaluation last month, I did the blood work a few weeks ago. I had to do an EKG which lead to a stress test. I had to do an UGI where I had to swallow barium. My doctor required my pap smear and mammogram to be current which they were. I had a pre op with my pcp (letter to insurance came from that one) after that stuff they submitted to insurance for approval. Then a pre op with my surgeon. My surgery is on the 22nd this month. So I did all of the requirements from September to October.

Omg I got that be careful thing from several, like this is a hasty decision. Don't insult me. I did my research, talked to people who did it, went to seminars and prayed about for months.

If you have sleep apnea do they use the breathing tube during surgery?

Thanks ladies. I don't have the cpap (yet) I was just nervous about the tube like would I be conscious with better now. And looking forward to next Friday I will be going the drug route because im awful about pain I will be walking as much as I can im hoping it will nice out so I can walk in,the neighbourhood.

Starvation of the brain that's great! I've been doing my prep diet and that's how I feel (hating meat and eggs right now) before that it all quiet in there. Lol, I feel that this is the path that God put me on after I begged Him for months for solutions. I will not back out of it. for me backing out equals very early death because I have alot of obesity related problems. This is a new chance to live better and healthier I will hold onto to it like my life depends on it which it does.

Thank you I feel better. My surgery is in 9 days and overall I'm at peace with it all but I do have moments of omg this is my first ever surgery what if.... That was my last fear thanks for helping me get past it

I have told my family, they are not supportive in my moms words "you'll die. don't do it your just not trying hard enough" yeah IM not trying hard enough so the last FIVE YEARS I have spent working with a doctor and nutritionist because I didn't want to go thus route was not trying hard enough. Though I wished I'd have said what I wanted which I can't print here lest I burn ears. I walked away from her and only exchange small talk if that with her now. She doesn't understand that if I don't do something now I won't live to see 50 (yes I did say that to her) I wish I hadn't told them but can't take it back. I did tell my close friends thru private Facebook message and they are supportive. They've always been more than family. I have decided not to tell my coworkers as I feel that I don't need the judgmental atmosphere directed at me. I will use my tools as I see fit to save my life and its not for them to gossip about. My surgery is Nov 22 and am looking forward to living healthier and meeting the slim person I know lives in this super morbidly obese body.

Oh I know it, its just a little rough but it won't be forever. Besides if I think this is bad just wait till I'm on the clear liquid diet after surgery. Lol it will be fine. I got on the scale this morning and lost 2 lbs since Friday! I need to do everything in my power to make this better.

Mine is NO carbs day one today and already killing me. felt hungry all day. BUT I promised to do all I could to shrink the liver as he explained to me will make this surgery much safer for me my BMI is 60-61 so I do it and pray for no craving and more sleep to take my mind off. My surgery is in 13 days

Omg I've working hard and waiting so long and I got the call to tell me they said yes!!! The doctor had me do all me pre OP stuff while they submitted for approval and I have my surgery date of Nov 22 the day before my birthday! I'm so excited and just a little nervous (first ever surgery) I can barely sit still

As I was told the surgeon wants no surprises so I had to do blood work (don't ask what they wanted to see I didn't understand it all) I had to do an upper GI (barium is not as nasty as I thought just thick) and Cardiac clearance with a cardiologist which I had an abnormal EKG that lead to a normal stress test then clearance. It was a few hoops but completed in a couple weeks. Annoying but a necessary evil. P.S. the cardio clearance is also demanded by the anesthesiologist.

they had me do all my pre-OP testing while in for approval, cardiac clearance scared me half to death because I had an abnormal EKG they made me do a stress test which was normal thank you Jesus. Got my clearance and my surgery is November 22. I had to jump thru all the crazy hoops to a it is I just found out this morning that the insurance company approved it. I'm in the Chicagoland area too good luck and speedy recovery
