Alexandria, I just wanted to tell you I am thinking about you. You are such a rock to people on this forum. All of your replies to others are great and supportive!! I agree with the post above...you are not going into debt because of not being able to stop putting food in your mouth. This goes way deeper than that, and you truly know this, you are just feeling that way right now. You are beautiful and a wonderful person. I truly hope that all goes your way!!! Here's to your health and your happiness!!! Deanna

When does my pregnant belly go away after surgery???
areellady replied to prepster's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
I think it took about three to four weeks to finally start seeing the belly going down. Seems like one day it is just gone and your stomach is smaller than it was before surgery...just keep that in mind...it is a great feeling to see a smaller tummy!!Deanna -
I also have been diagnose with sleep apnea but that was in 2005. When the nurse at hospital called to set up surgery, I asked about my CPAP..she told me to definitely bring it with me to hospital in case I had to stay the night. They do not use it in surgery...I also know that NEXT time I ever have surgery, and if I have my CPAP still, I will definitley ask to have it on in the recovery room. I think that would of solved a lot of breathing issues for me. I am used to waking up with it on and going full force and I dont think my mind was thinking about breathing because I am used to having the air pressure. Just my thoughts. Good Luck!! Deanna

I wonder if maybe the OP has a two week appointment and misunderstood that it was going to be for a fill. Can't imagine getting a fill after two weeks..you are still so swollen. Good Luck!!

self pay how long did you have to wait
areellady replied to too much of me's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I went to surgeons on April 5th, started two week pre op diet next day and had surgery the 19th of April. It all really depends on lots of factors. Good luck!!! -
I've been unfilled for a week and have LOST 1.5 pounds!!!
areellady replied to Sunta's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hmm...I wonder if these would work for someone who has never had a fill yet. I went for a fill on Monday and they wouldnt give me one. Said I was doing really really good and that they were going to wait until I stopped losing. OH MY!!! I do get so hungry sometimes...not sure yet if it is head hunger or not..but did manage to lose another two pounds this week!! YIPPEE!! Deanna -
There are women and men on this site. Wow, don't know what to tell you about that!!! I know I am regular within a day since starting my preop diet!! Congratulations on your banding..both of you. Maybe someone else will chime in with why you are having a period again. What did the office say? Deanna

Doctor Says its a no-go - Any solutions?
areellady replied to nr-vsg2be's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Again, my doctor looked at mine and said there was a slight one but nothing to worry about. But, he would of fixed it had there been a need to. Check with another doctor if you still want to get the lap band. Deanna -
Back from surgery with my band..
areellady replied to Bensmum1109's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Wow...that is great the you woke up with your band...how wonderful!!!! I am glad you are home and doing fine. What a happy ending to a bad situation. Deanna -
light mozzarella string cheese...I also love the soy crisp but creamy ranch is my favorite...they are so good. The turkey pepperoni is good too. My nutritionist told me the protein in peanut butter is not enough to overcome the amount of fat in it. She told me not to eat it. Refried beans, hummus, there are quite a few snacks out there, you might do a google search for low fat low calorie snacks...Deanna

What is a comfort bike????
-
I find myself wondering if musicalmomma is gonna make it back home today since it is all uphill....LOL..just kidding...I know what you mean about rubber band legs.... Lee I am finding out if I stretch really good before and after, at least 7-10 minutes, that it helps tremendously with the soreness. I was having that too almost to the point where I could not even go again the next day but now am stretching and am MUCH better!!! Try that if you are not doing it now and see if it helps. Deanna I love my cheap bike..it has only 7 speeds and I LOVE IT!!!! I want to ride all the time...I get mad when no one in the family wants to go with me. LOL...

I do not have fill as of yet, and I have had a small amount of rice and pizza. I have not had pasta yet or bread. I think the bread I can live without but pasta is so versatile and can be used in SO many dishes. I don't know why I have not tried it as of yet, I guess I am scared too. My tastes have definitely changed. I dont have the cravings from eating carbs all the time though, so maybe that is it. Deanna

PLEASE tell me this is normal!!!!
areellady replied to cyndilou29's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You are SO VERY NORMAL hun. Really, you are!! Everyone of us who have had the surgery went through this....it is such a "hit you with a reality check" sensation!!! It is nerves and your adrenaline pumping through you with the "fight or flight". You know what you have to do and its all so scary, but it will be okay and tomorrow when you wake up from your surgery, you will say to yourself...ok, heres what I am going to do...WALK as soon as possible.....WALK WALK WALK...as much as you possibly can... You are worth it and you can do this!!! Its time to take charge of your life and your health!!! YOU GO GIRL!! DEanna p.s. It wasn't but a little over a month ago that I was doing this EXACT same thing in my head!!!!! -
Way to go Lee4love1....it will definitely help with the weight loss.Deanna

Went in for first fill..but NOOOOOO
areellady replied to areellady's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Well, I am going to see how I do this week and then call them if I am getting any hungrier. I just dont want to regain all of the 35 pounds that I have lost with pre op diet and post op liquid mushy stage. Hopefully I can hold out without gaining...Deanna Thank you two for your responses. -
the NEW you and OLD Drivers Licenses?
areellady replied to OhioChick1982's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My license says I weigh 150...they have never question that. I need to lose 150 so I am not sure how they end up not asking me about my weight... I am just glad they dont. Some of these stories are just great!!! I love that idea of not being able to recognize someone because they have lost weight and having to show that scars and loose skin..HAHAHAHA!!! LOVE IT!!! Could you just see the cop at home that night..."Oh, honey you should of seen what I saw today!!"Deanna -
Up 2lbs!!! - is this usual?!
areellady replied to jammy117's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I went in for my first fill, or so I thought, and came home without one. She said I had lost so much weight that they wanted me to keep going for as long as I could without doing a fill. She did point out my port to me though...right where I thought it was....I can feel it plain as day. So, now I have to wait another month to go back....I really really hope I can stay in control and keep this weight off and lose some more. I didnt gain any weight going to mushies but I can see how that can happen easily. THEY TASTE SO DANG GOOD!!! After drinking for so long...I really think you will be fine..you are not restricted from the surgery anymore and the swelling is down so you can eat more...Good luck...Deanna -
Yes, DH and DD and I bought new bikes...not the expensive kind just Schwinns from KMart, and we are riding on average 5 miles a night..sometimes more sometimes less. I am so happpy with myself after I am done. There is a hill by my house that I had to walk up when I first started, but now I can bike all the way up it. I love it!!!I almost cried when I did that. Today I rode to video store instead of driving...a 4 mile trip. I love that I can ride to stores and get small things and not waste gas. Deanna

Shrinking Violets -- April 07 Bandsters
areellady replied to TracyinKS's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Angie...that is A LOT compared to reading other peoples fill...I hope the weight starts falling off now for you...Did you get any post filling instructions on what to eat or what not to eat? I am loving the loose clothes and skinnier facial features that I am having...sometimes I THINK I am skinnier that I actually am, and when I get a look in the mirror I am horrified that I am that fat still....I hope that mentality sticks with me forever...It helps with self esteem to THINK you are skinnier than you are...hubby can get arms around me and touch his elbows with his opposite hands....we are definitely improving here in Idaho...Talk to ya all later...thanks for all the updates on the fills. I am going to take my camera and see if the nurse will let me take pictures...that might be interesting for those who are soon to be filled...she probably wont let me...but I cant always try...Deanna
