This just happened this morning to me....I made it to the 40's. I am officially 247.5......I am so freakin siked about that...I can't believe I made it over the 250 hump....I feel like I can see the light at the end of the tunnel!!!! -
Oh FarmerE...I am sorry. That just sucks....sometimes guys say the stupidest things...and they don't even know it....and then sometimes they do know it and STILL say it!!!
-
I got told this weekend..."WHAT are you doing to lose weight?" Ho hummed around and then told her. "Her" being my sis in law....I just couldn't lie...when someone says...you are looking good, I can say thank you, but when someone asks point blank, I froze and then told. Not sure how I am feeling about her knowing right now though. Kind of weird for someone to know that I didn't plan on telling.

Juli, I just saw this post from you....how did the bbq go????
-
I think with all the weight you have lost your goal is reasonable. I am glad you signed up. I think it is fun to see everyone losing. This is the first challenge I have signed up for.
-
Oh Juli, yeah look at me....I can't believe I put THAT picture up there, but when my three month since surgery day comes I want to put the new me up there and see if anyone notices...LOL..kinda like a goal to see if anyone notices..LOL...
-
hoosier....its not about how far you can go right now...that will come....as long as you are doing it that is the important thing!!!! You will start feeling more balance as you work your way up to longer times.....I even could stand up on the pedals as I was moving the other day...I COULD NEVER do that when I started. I have lots more balance now and you will too. Give it some time, ride a bit at a time and then a little longer and then a little longer....pretty soon you will be doing miles at a time...Keep it up girl!!!

Not only do we love our bicycles....we love each other......LOL...we are bandster brother and sister ya know!!! Everyone here is so VERY supportive...I love every minute I can come on here and see something new someone has to say...it saddens me deeply to see the other threads with 90 or more people viewing and the exercise thread I think the most I have seen on at a time is 9.....WOW...that makes me really wonder.....not about if I am doing the right thing....but why people don't find this interesting enough to talk about it.... What the heck are you all doing your biking now that it is soooo damn hot...98 today...not sure I can take the heat and sweat.....

LMAO...that is great JC......you are so funny!!!! Oh, btw everyone, I added my picture to my avatar...it was so easy..LOL...I didn't have any idea I could do that!!! I guess maybe my brain is getting smarter the more exercise I do...This picture is my night before surgery...I am 58 pounds lighter now.. I will put my three month picture up around the 19th of July...that is my three month bandiversery....

one word EXERCISE... cardio and strength training.... cardio sheds the body of fat and strength training will tone and firm up your muscles. Start now, not when you are at a certain weight. I will help, but you may still have saggy skin. I know, it sucks and I hate the thought myself, but at least you can help some of it and you are young enough that you may not have any excess skin when you are done losing weight!!! That would be so great!!
-
annie, in the support thread, there is a july-labor day challenge going on. You should come join us....its just a motivational way to keep going and losing that weight!!!
-
Oh yeah, I know exactly what you mean. Less than three months ago when I was banded, I didn't dream of getting on a bicycle. I thought walking was going to be my exercise of choice and it was until one day I was overcome by boredom and KNEW that if I continued to walk every day I would end up quitting soon! I want to run too eventually, but for now, I am quite happy with the biking. I don't want to run for my cardio routine though, I just want to be able to go running if I so choose. So happy for you!! Also, I am so impressed with your loss, I am at 58 pounds lost now so I KNOW I can be 100 pounds down by Christmas if I really keep my mind focused!!!! My son told me yesterday, he is 19 and only notices himself, that I was wasting away. Then he said, "you are really looking good". That makes it all the more worth it when your family makes comments!!!
-
JC, what was your big project...100 mile ride in an hour???? LOL..just kidding...that is soooooo freakin cool....I get excited for people who are so into their activity!!!! Its awesome!!! As for the other thread, I tried to start it so that someone wouldnt have SOOOOOO much reading to go through to respond or post there, but this on works fine for me too!!!! I was just thinking of the new people who might want to join in and share....I love biking...Juli, you are just so knowledgeable about biking!!!! Its so amazing how a person can transform into something that they never ever imagined!!!

Challenge - July - Labor Day 2007

Maybe try every other day going at it for 90 minutes, the other days 60 minutes. See if that does something for you. I know, KNOW I would not be losing like this if it were not for the nightly 10 or more miles that I ride....the bowflex is just the strength training, not a whole lot of sweating going on there unless I decide to do the rowing too. I know about the sweating like a pig comment. I feel like a freak after I am done, but god, the next morning I feel soooooo good and skinny!!! LOL...I don't know why it takes until the next morning to feel it, but I love that feeling!!! Also, you are at 224....so that is ONLY 25 pounds away for 199!!!! 1) you are doing soooooooooooo awesome!!! 2) remember the closer you to goal, the SLOWER you are going to lose. I started out at 305.5, so I would lose faster than you who started out at 278. I am slowing down now as I told you in an earlier post, so I know it will come to a stand still soon. I really think uping to 90 minutes either every other day or every day is gonna push you into the next level of losing. You are doing great!!! Keep up the great work!!!Deanna -
Or you could roll over and say, I really would like to hear those kind of things during the day when you think I am awake..... I can not even say how sad this makes me feel.....I am going to gush all over my DH tonight 1) because I can 2) because he will let me 3) because I need to really realize how very lucky I am to have him.... You girls who are going this these things are sooooooooooooooo strong and awesome!!!!! All of this hard work you are going through to transform your bodies and mind, you need someone to do something for you....someone to touch you, hold you, kiss you....I truly you all find what you are looking for and move in that direction.

and soon even the thoughts of a taste might leave your thoughts. I know I thought pizza was going to be the end all for me. I LOVE PIZZA!!!!!!!! We used to order two family size just so I would make sure and get my 8-9 slices at dinner then 5-6 as midnight snack. I ate that stuff like it was leaving the planet in the next hour!!! I have had it once since being banded....one of the first solid foods that I ate...and it had no power over me....NO

congrats on your 100 pound weight loss annie..That is great!!And running now too...wow..just what I want to do too!! You are doing great!!!

Challenge - July - Labor Day 2007
areellady replied to losingjusme's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I don't have a diet plan. I don't track my calories at all. I really have no idea how much food I eat. I do an hour and a half of Bowflex every other day and bike about 70 miles a week. That is pretty much my diet!!I have no fill and have no idea why I am doing so good at this. I mean, I do know, I am not eating like I used to, but as far as eating certain things or not eating certain things, I don't do that. Well, I really haven't had bread for 3 months, but that is about the only thing that I have cut out. I eat steak, pork, chicken, rice, pasta. I don't eat my protein first as everyone says too, I eat my veggies first because that is what I crave, so that is what I feel my body must need. I can eat about 1 1/2 cups to 2 cups, depending on what it is. I do have restriction without a fill though, so I am waiting for the day this restriction just goes by the way side. As of today I am down 58 pounds in three months, including 2 week pre op diet. I am slowing down now though. I was at 5 pounds a week, then 4 pounds a week and now it is 3 pounds a week. So, it won't be long before I will be stopping or plateauing all together. I know this, but workout A LOT so I need more food to keep my body going. I am holding off on a fill as long as I can for now. Sorry I can't give you a diet that I follow, I guess I could write down what I eat for a few days and then tell you, if you wanted. Deanna -
Nursinggal...everytime I see that picture of the lady laying on the floor with the scale on top of her feet I just start chuckling to myself. It is SOOOO cute!!

ooopppssss...hit post too soon I love the idea of being going next semester over 50 pounds lighter!!!! It is going to be great!!!
-
I know at 37 it is a challenge but I have a 3.9 GPA...which when I was 19 and going to college I would of NEVER got and didn't. So, I am much more focused and loving it actually. I love the career choice and love the idea
-
OH my...50 miles????????????/ JC what are you trying to do kill us all here???? WOW..so impressed....are your legs still working after all that and THEN walking jogging???? Juli, I love it...23 miles....so maybe when you and girlfriend are together and enjoying each others company and the open road, she won't really notice the longer ride as much and you can go farther.....It always helps to have someone else to motivate you as you ride, so that might work. I had a Schwinn Hybird and love it til I got to riding 10 miles a night then I got a little bit better bike. I it still a hybrid but handles and feels so much better. Juli, I am doing better on the hills, and I think that I finally am getting some lung capacity built up, last bike trip I went up big hill and could talk at the top, usually can't talk for several minutes...so I think that is a good thing.
