I am wondering if the hair loss is just a result of losing fat or from the surgery? I don't know, but I thought I had it beat up until about two weeks ago, when I noticed a HUGE difference!!

Do you think Filipino Women make Good Wives?
areellady replied to Lee4love1's topic in Rants & Raves
This comment is perhaps the worst. This is like saying Thank God a black man of 50 doesn't run the government. Lee, you really need to either start thinking about what you say, before you say it, or read it before you post it. You just like to argue for the sake of arguing. You did in on the bicycle thread with me about a better bike. If someone doesn't live in your little world of dreams, then they don't know shit. I truly hope that the Phillipinno woman you bring here has some kind of clue as to what she is getting herself into. -
My nutritionist shit her pants when I told her I was eating peanuts!!!! God I hate that woman sometimes!!!! My hair is thinning too, but not too bad. It is not coming out in chunks, just an all over thinning. I actually don't ever forget to take my vitamins, so I really don't think that has anything to do with it.

I totally agree. I would call today and have the nurse look in your chart and tell you how much you have in your band. Y

Kat and others, I think that most people totally agree with what you are saying but aren't posting anything because of the most ridiculous replies that you are receiving after you post. CARRY ON TROOPS!!! -
JJB, that is what I was thinking too. Boy I sure hope people arent going to be saying those things about me, especially when they find out that I had WLS to lose all this weight.

Who Has Joined A Gym Or Do You Work Out At Home?
areellady replied to violeteyes37's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I bought a Bowflex. My exercise Physiologist said that if you were going to stay home and work out with a machine that was probably the best one out there. So, I did it. I have been a gym member before and it seemed to take so much more time out of my day, I really really enjoy being at home and can do it whenever I want. I do make myself do it, but so do the ones who go to the gym. I also, so not have small children to contend with, which if i did, I think I would prefer the gym. It really is all about the ME time. With the gym it seemed like by the time I would get there and get home, shower, get dinner made, homework done, I was exhausted and made up every excuse NOT to go back. I really think it all depends on the person and what challenges they face day to day to get in their exercise!! -
and you areeeeeeee sooooooooooooooooooo skinny Juli!!!! Just look in the mirror!!!!
-
oh yeah, been there, done that. Two miles from home. HUGE piece of glass goes in MY tire. Flat within minutes. SO, we walk the bikes home. Go to store get a tube, drive home, change tubes. Next night, go to store, buy extra tubes and pump!!!! Carry them with us at ALL times now!!!! A definite must!!

Beckie, I was also a student when I was banded. I was banded April 19th. School was in session for another month. I needed very little help at home. Reading some of the posts leads me to believe that C sections are MUCH worse than the lap band. I have never had a c section, this is just coming from what I have read on other posts. I was doing lite housework about 3-4 days out. Some things hurt worse than others and of course I was told if I start to do something and it hurts, STOP!! I have older children so lifting was not an issue with me. I also talked with my professors who let me "take" the rest of the semester off, and do my work from home. That was a big issue with me, but I was having it done, whether I had to haul a bookbag around or not!!! Read, read and read some more. That is the best information you can get.

faithmd, I have thought that about Jachut from the very first time coming on this site. She has it all together, in my opinion. She eats what she wants, doesn't leave out any food groups and exercises a LOT!!!! I do the same now that I am banded!!! The only thing that I don't eat is bread. I have had pizza once. It was fine. The bread thing is my issue that I have with bread. Pre band we used to eat 5-6 slices of bread with dinner with butter every single night!!!! I just don't want to get into that habit again. So, I guess, if I decide to eat bread I will, but I do it for my own reasons. I do eat rice, pasta, couscous, tortillas, crackers. I am not low carbing it in any way, shape or form.

Oh, I was gonna add in to cycle!!!! It is great and great exercise. Start slow and work your way up, plus see lots of things as you bike so you won't get bored. Come look at the bicycle thread!!!

Thanks J, I didn't realize that you underinflated them to compensate for the weight. They are just soooooo skinny looking!!
-
Oh I hear ya on the skinny road tires!!! I look at those and wonder how in the hell they are gonna not bust when my butt sits down on the seat!!!!
-
Well, first things first. You are not going to see a huge difference overnight. I always look at myself and think, okay, I got banded because I did not want to die young. I exercise because I do not want to die young. If I get to live to be old, very old, I want to have muscle and stamina to live life not just be locked up in a house or a home somewhere waiting to die. I want to be able to live life. At 24 you probably havent gotten to the point of realizing that life is sooo short and it will come to an end one day, but it will for everyone. I just want to be able to be strong and doing for myself in old age. Ya know, I look at my parents and think, they sure have slowed down lately, WAY DOWN. I don't want to do that. EVER!!

Annie, I used to live in Bremerton. I HATED EVERY LAST SINGLE SECOND OF IT!!! I really did. Hubby was stationed there and I am a depressed kinda person anyways, so I really was glad to get to come home to Idaho when the time came. I was only there for 8 months, and I still can't stand to think of the rain and dreary dreary clouds....all the time!!! No rain vibes coming your way to Annie.....NO RAIN!~~

roller blading used to hurt my feet to until I got a GOOD pair of skates. They make all the difference in the world. I gues maybe it is the same with everything, a little better quality goes a long ways. Mine were around a hundred dollars. We started out with cheapies, and hated every minute of it!! I can't wait to get these puppies shined up with new wheels and going on down the path!!! Wednesday 18th a.m. 1 hour strength training on bowflex p.m. 9.72 mile bike ride
-
HP, I am sending no rain vibes your way so that you can ride tonight!!!!! You can do it!!! You will do it!!!!
-
That is funny!! I think anytime you go for being up high to a lower vehicle it takes some time to get used to the difference. I got my roller blades out of the BACK of the closet, dusted them off, tried them on, and am now ready to adventure out into the world of another wheel sport. I used to blade 2-4 hours a 5 days a week. I was about the size I am now, probably a bit smaller, but was never watching what I ate then, but I did get some really nice leg muscles back then.

BG, LOL, I wasn't saying the wreck was awesome!!! LOL! You are such a hoot!!!No wonder the ladies you work with are so jealous of you, you are getting skinny, sexier and are freakin hilarious to boot!!! Annie, I can understand the self esteem issue. I just wonder if it will EVER be good again, you know what I mean? After being fat for so long, I just wonder how long it will take for the mind to catch up that we are NOT the fat one anymore and can accomplish anything!! I sure hope that it doesn't take long!! You are so amazing, I look at your weight loss and KNOW that I can do it too!!!! JC, seriously, that is the best thing that you could of said today!!! I am sooooooo proud of you!!!! You could tell you wanted it by the way you talked about it so much! You wanted it, you went out and worked on it, and now you did it!!! What an accomplishment!!!!! What a way to rock it!!! YOU are awesome!! Juli, Once again you are so totally right!! Never should we apologize to each other for an accomplishment that we have. We all here are the support group for each other and we NEED to be able to come here and scream I DID IT!!! Not a whole lot of other people will understand the intensity and meaning of what something like that does for us!!! I love it that you found this group of women that keeps you going and motivated and enjoying yourself, Juli. That must be awesome to all be loving the same sport and working out together!!! Your average speed is great too!!! I can't wait!!

I went and watch our bicycle club in town do some time trial tonight....WAY FREAKIN AWESOME SHIT!!!!! They were going soooo fast and someone wrecked and it was awesome...there were only two women though. And it was a small small group of people, but it was great to see it anyways!!

ok, first thing is first. YOU WILL BE ABLE TO EAT AGAIN!!!! I think that so many people freak at the thought of not being able to eat again, that they just shove in food just to do it!! You will eat again, and it will all be good. Mark my word!!! Be true on your pre op diet, that is important. Do it for yourself!! It will give you a great feeling of accomplishment that you did it!!!
