LOL, HP, that is soooooo freakin funny.....I can remember trying to get up that little thing I was calling a hill....I climb mountains now!!!! LOL....I love biking.... Debi, welcome, I always wonder what people say when they see me coming down the road, but I don't really care anymore...I wear my tight riding shorts and tight jersey and don't really care...they can go jump in the lake for all I care....I know what I am doing, and I know they are driving in a car.... LOL...who is really the loser?? Not me..
-
HP, you know I was kidding with you!!! I love you!! You are awesome. I can get on my bike in my garage and leave the house and ride my 30 miles and get back home on my bike. You, on the other hand, have to load them all up and then go. You are doing awesome and I was just playing the challenge bit up a little too much. Sorry if I hurt your feelings!!! Welcome to all the newbies of the bicycling thread!! I totally agree with all new bandsters should have to ride a bike after surgery. Its the best sport ever!!
-
J, you are rocking that ticker....if you keep moving it, you will soon not weigh anything!!
-
HP, I kinda thought that was the same bike you had.....is it not??
-
Um, HP, I have something to tell you. I rode another 32.99 miles last nite. I am having way to much fun with this challenge. I love to win, just so you know. I am getting a fill today, so no riding tonight and tomorrow nite is skate night, so no riding tomorrow night either. Friday night though, watch out. Saturday morning is the Tour of Marsh Valley, I could do 100 miler then....hmmmmmmmmm....should I let you catch up??????
-
Since this is a challenge HP, I rode to do some errands this afternoon and got another 4.3 miles. Hmmmmmmmmmmm, you MIGHT have to quit work and ride to keep up with me....LOL....just sayin'

it is the 2.1

HP, I would seriously advise riding tonight. 100 miles at least. I am not going to take this challenge lightly. LOL....If you do a 100 and I do 100 I am still ahead......I like this kind of challenge....I am ahead before we start... I won't ride on Wednesday night, just to give you a chance to catch up...hehehehehe Actually tonight we are probably going up to the mountians, so you never get very many miles in, just lots of hard work and sweat trying to make it up. $600 sounds like a lot for a ride, but I figure if I make it our vacation, thats pretty dang good considering you get three meals a day, so less than $100 a day for a 7 day good time doing what I love to do... The bike I am looking at is cream and orange...looks like a creamsicle....lol..."look ma, that lady is riding a creamsicle..." let me see if I can find a pic....

Well, HP!! I do have the clipless pedals on my road and mountain bike. I have fallen over three times so far when I forgot to unclip when I stopped. I was not seriously injured, so all is good. Although, it sure does hurt the pride to have people laughing at you!!! Ok, let go with the challenge!! I just added 35.89 miles last night, so you better get with it lady!!! I think Saturday we are going to do a 60 mile ride I found. There is a 26, 60, and 100 miles ride, there are a few hills, not small, rolling ones either. So, I think we can manage the 60 miler. The most we have ever gone at one time is around 40-45 I think, and that was last season. I guess I should feel so very lucky that I can bike up at home and take off and go right from the house, since most of you have to load it all up and then go. BG, I FOUND A STATE RIDE HERE IN IDAHO!!!!! But, we are too late to sign up....it is a 430 mile ride taking 7 days, but it is 600 dollars!!!! Only 200 people allowed to participate. They do it in August. They start registering in January and the website said that last year they were booked five months in advance. I didn't even try to see if we could get in this year, but next year for sure, I will be done with school and working full time so I am planning my vacay for August for sure!!!!! I contacted the Idaho Cycling Enthusiasts (I.C.E) and talked with the President. That is the only group here in Southeast Idaho. THey are mostly very competitive road racers. BUMMER!!! I don't want to RACE!!!!! I just want to ride. We did find a nice relaxed, easy rolling road with few cars to ride on last night. It was a nice change of pace of what we usually do. BG, included in the $120, is that food and everything??????? I have a different computer on both the bikes, one is a trek elite lime and not sure what the one is. HAS ANYONE HEARD ABOUT STEF OR FROM HER??????
-
Oh, and we have sand here....its nice to lay on. Just sayin'....a vacation in Idaho might be what the doctor ordered. Although, the sand is not near the beach....LOL
-
We have not taken the boat out at all, but it has been too cold. We are going out on the 4th I think, and the gas prices....hmmmmm, what gas prices, I own three bikes!!!!! LOL...yeah, that kind of puts a damper on the boating fun. Oh well, I would way rather be biking anyways.
-
I just looked at the video for PALM.....that looks like a freakin blast. You guys who have that kind of thing going on in your part of the country should feel VERY VERY lucky. That looks like soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much fun!!!
-
You usually ride 50 or more miles at a time dont you J? Is it just not worth it to go for shorter rides for you? We start out from our house and go, we don't have to drive anywhere to ride, I wonder if that is what a lot of people have to do. BG, who are you riding that with? J?
-
Well goodness, we got about 55 miles in the last two days, so I say thats a good thing. I think my hubby is going to get me a new road bike. I have a mens bike and it is hurting my shoulders and neck. There is a creamsicle looking one at the LBS, a trek pilot...I believe like HP's??? I am excited!!!! I just love new bikes!!! It is suppose to be around 90 today, so it snowed last week now its 90...what a state I live in. A state of confusion!!! HP, how far do you usually ride when you go? I have a computer on both my mountain and road bike so I can keep track. I am going to challenge myself for the rest of June til the end of July to get in 1000 miles on my bikes.
-
J, I know what you are talking about. It seems so different now than it did a month or two out of surgery. I don't like it, it just is. I love the way I feel too, HP, and want to continue to lose more, but I think if I stopped here, I think I would be fine (really though, I would be disappointed in myself), because I can move now, I can breath at night, I am off all medications and I actually want to leave to the house now. I do know that the smaller I am, the easier it will be to climb some of the huge mountain passes we have, and easier to bike altogether. My husband can fly past me going up steep hills and I mostly have to gear down to one-one most of the time. I did do a steep hill the other day and only went to two-one and stood up some of the time and did not stop at all. What are we gonna do with ourselves? We need some different kind of motivation.....BUT WHAT????
-
Yeah, of all things...snow!! What a joke around here.....it is suppose to be in the 80's on Saturday...thats what I get for living in Idaho..
-
Well, we got some snow around our area last nite and into today. I haven't actually seen any, but in the mountains there is some. What a way to start off the summer huh? Well, I guess I should just be thankful I am not in the floods or the wild fires....
-
I wish we could all quit "life" and just ride....instead of just do it...its just ride... ZZ hasn't checked in for a while either. I know for me personnally I went through the withdrawal times and spent many months away. I think it is very much the thing that J said. We are past our year and life just goes on. I don't know... BG, sorry it was almost that bad. It was a funny thought and tickled my funny bone.
-
HP, I am still laughing at the thought of BG taking her tires out of her bike and blowing them up really really big and paddling around her house after her house got all wet from open windows!!!!! Hopefully it was not really that bad!!! The weather has been so crappy here too. We did get out last night for a 15 miler, but I need some time on my bike. Raining again today, so doubt it will happen tonight. Well, maybe one day soon we can go out again and ride.

Do You Feel Sick After A Fill
areellady replied to jaylow's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I, too, am one of the ones who gets gassy and bloated. I am glad to see someone else does too!! I thought I was just a weirdo. It is not so much painful as it is annoying. I used to get really really bad gas the night of a fill and be in severe pain, but that hasn't happend for a while. I guess everyone is different. -
J, what does biggest tool ever mean? I am dumb with lingo. I know it means loser but what does the tool have to do with it??
-
Hi TJ, nice rides you are doing. I am in Idaho so can't help with the partnering up sorry. Have you tried looking into the specific state portion of the forum? J, I know, what a loser I am huh? I always ruin everything.....LOL...well, I am not saying yes, but I am not saying no. BUT, if I drive, I would not be able to do it just for the weekend, that is the issue. The time....too bad its not during summer vacay.
-
Start training with weights. That is a huge huge issue with most people. They think they just have to do cardio....well, your muscle burns fat, so get more muscle.
-
I told DH and he asked if I wanted to go.....so that is a good thing. I will be right in the middle of school and externships at that time so I don't know how that would work out. BUT, I would really like to go.... If everyone was to go, I would HAVE to go.... Hmmmm, I need to google the mileage....

I am not into airplanes. I like my feet on solid ground. SO, at Vegas, was it just one other person? Were there others there you just didn't know??
