    Has anyone taken up Bycyling?

I wonder how often a spouse leaves a spouse after weight loss? Like real statistics. My DH has weighed the same since high school. He wears the same size, always has. He has watched me balloon up to 305 and NEVER made a comment about my weight. He always told me how beautiful I was no matter how much I weighed. I know this is not true for everyone, but love is love, and if someone is going to leave you because of weight, either loss or gain, then they are not worth having in the first place. I know that doesn't help with what your wife feels, but she must be feeling very insecure about herself. How much weight has she lost? Is she happy with her loss? Maybe she feels like you are leaving her behind with all the exercise. Too bad you can't get her to do it with you.

Hmmm, well, I can see the jealousy thing, if it were the other way around for me....I would not want my DH to be talking to a lot of women either. Although, my DH is not the jealous type, he loves that I have people I can talk to about my issues that he has no idea about, but I wonder why she doesn't want to exercise with you. That would be a great way to support each other and she would feel so much better. Has she ever exercised since banding? I agree with the bike, wait until you can get a nicer one. You will want to upgrade really quick otherwise. I wish I would of known you were looking, I just sold my mans road bike I had and got a woman specific one. It was a 54" and it costs me 679.00 and I sold it for 450.00, it was not even a year old. It might not of even fit you, but dang it. You are a great encouragement to lots of people. You have done so very very well, andI think a lot of people would be dissappointed if you were not on here anymore showing them what is possible if they just put their minds to it.

ZZ, HANG IN THERE GIRL!! You can do this. I think we all go through these "weird" times with food and then we snap out of it and are back on track again, thats the beauty of the band...we can get back on track with out much damage....think of how far behind you would be right now falling off "another" diet before the band..... You can do this!!!! Rant, rave, talk to us!!! Don't hide and not discuss, even if you just write how you feel down, it helps and then you can look back and see what you were doing that helped and what didn't help.....We need to be here for each other, I know I love knowing I can come here and have someone who understands totally what I am talking about. I think the first thing you need to do is get back to the gym. I know you know this, but it is such a great mood enhancer, and then that will help with the eating. I truly believe that, when I am exercising, I eat better than if I don't. I like the plan you have made about the fruits and veggies. I love fruits and veggies now, I just hate how expensive they are and how cheap junk food is....Chin up girl, you will prevail, and maybe you need to cut your goal up in chunks...work on 10 pounds at a time, it doesn't seem so overwhelming then. Hugs......Deanna

ZZ, is the gain a fill issue or bad eating?? Let us know what we can do for you...we can cheer you on. 15 is not that much and it will come off easily. Really, let us know. Are you still riding? Doing any exercise? That might be where you want to start first....if your not doing it now, but don't give up!!!! You did this for you and you can do it!!!! HP, did you get any riding in over the weekend? I got 31 miles in tonight, I am changing my ticker now...

Hey who's, does your wife get jealous of the attention you get from women? Just wondering if it happens the other way around. I must say you were very handsome heavy, so you probably got plenty of attention from the opposite sex before, but you must be getting trampled over now!!!! Does your wife do exercise things with you or is that just your thing? And one more, is your wife heavy or is she normal weight....just wondering how all of this affects the men when they get banded...

    Looking for a Sturdy Bike

GO to your local bike shop and have them help you. Do not be embarrassed about going in there, the people who work there are all about getting people out riding. A sport comfort bike is a good bike to start with. You sit more upright and it has a big comfy seat. Try that and see what you think. Good luck!!

Oh and I MADE Hubby go for a ride last night while he was trying to get ready to go, but I didn't want to not ride the night before going. We were gonna take our bikes, but then thought it would not be worth it, not many places to ride where we are going. Sooooooo, Traci, I think you may catch up.....

J, I forgot to tell you that you really DO look like the news anchor woman. You stated that awhile back with your hairdo...and yes I agree. Oh, Windex, good idea. I actually had a womans saddle on my mans bike and loved it. It was hard. This one seems really soft and cushy to me, I will see what happens over the next couple of rides and decid change it out to something else. I did find that if the saddle is not level it does rub in all the wrong places.....NOT A GOOD THING!!! We are going camping on Wednesday and wont be back until Sunday. I know you will miss me. It is a sad thing, but I will return. With pictures of all my fish I catch. I am going to miss my creamsicle....A LOT!!

Thanks for the rainbow picture Hp, it made me smile....inside and out! Here is a picture of my bike...I love it, except for who is the dummy who would put WHITE FREAKIN GRIP TAPE AND WHITE SADDLE on a bike????? I love everything about it, especially how much faster I go on it and NO NECK PAIN WHEN I AM DONE RIDING!!!
  24. Once again, I received this from The New U Clinic where I go for my monthy appointments. It says: Yes, chicken thighs are higher in fat than chicken breasts, but they are also higher in Iron and zinc, and their texture can be perfect for those having difficulty tolerating drier white meat. Once you master this method of simmering chicken, experiment by using different sauces and complimentary ingredients. 8 boneless skinless chicken thighs (1 1/2 -2 pounds) vegetable cooking spray 1 cup chicken broth Cut each thigh into four pieces. Brown pieces in non stick skillet that has been lightly coated with vegetable cooking spray. Add broth, cover and simmer until the chicken is very tender, about 25-30 minutes. Stir in 3/4 cup of one of the sauces listed below and a complimentary ingredient, season with salt and pepper if needed, then simmer 2-4 minutes, until sauce is bubbling and slightly thickened. SAUCES: marinara sauce(low fat and low sugar version) salsa hot wing sauce low fat caear salad dressing low fat creamy garlic dressing low fat sesame ginger dressing COMPLIMENTARY INGREDIENTS: mushrooms or baby spinach 15 oz. can rinsed black Beans chopped celery sliced artichokes and a few black olives sliced roasted red pepper fresh snow peas Serves 8 (small wt loss surgery portions of 1 thigh each) 82 cal 17 g Protein Leftovers freeze well.
