a space heater??? wow, I am not THAT cold. But I know offices get super cold sometimes. Well, good I am glad I am not the only one. How are you and your family getting along? Has everything calmed down a little? Still thinking of you....

Yeah, if we lived near each other we could conquer the hills. I am going to go up and take pictures of the mountain pass we ride up. I was soooooooooooooooo beautiful last night coming down off the top.....sunset reflecting off the resevoir....it was awesome..... I can't believe it is already getting dark sooner. It is so irritating. I want the sun to stay up until 11 pm so I can get more riding in. And, on another note, has anyone felt not as hot this summer? I don't know if it is the weather, or if it not having an extra 100 pounds to pack around, but I am not as hot this summer. Now, I am not saying its not hot, but before, I could hardly stand to be outside and now I am outside and riding a bike. Just wondering if you all feel the same or if it is just me.

Bloo, thats how I feel about all the food I make. It makes me so angry to spend all that time preparing a meal and then two bites into it, your all through.....I think that is the HARDEST thing. -
Congratulations on your NSV!!! Those are great ones. The one I love the very most I think is going into a restaurant and being able to sit at a booth. With room to spare. I can still remember the day that happened. I cried.

Just to say once more how much I enjoyed reading each of your advice over again. Thanks for being there when I needed someone to lean on.
-
You know what? You all are just the medicine I needed!! Awe, J, thanks for the phone call!!! That was super awesome that you called me!!! I had just started out for a ride and it was so cool, because I was ranting inside my head about it. All of your advice was awesome. I know, in my heart, that he doesn't even know what he said, and if I said something to him about it, he would be dumbfounded about it. But, I really do get sick of this being taken as something that is not hard, frightening, tiring, frustrating and painful. It's like since I have this Band, then I should be at goal within a month or something. Thanks again for all your advice and thoughts!!! I have moved on now, no longer going to let him get me down. And on a postive note, I got in 38.62 miles tonight. I guess sometimes a little frustration can be good. You all should open up shop and be counselors!!!!! To me, of course, for free.....

Sad but true - friends that are jealous!
areellady replied to Christina40's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Maybe she wants all the attention. Maybe she is afraid you will look better than her. Maybe she is afraid you will move on to other friends, who might be nicer. I don't know, but I sure wish people could be happy for other people who want to be healthy!!! -
San, CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!

Good job SO!!! Oh, brothers!!! You remember awhile back I told you my brother was losing weight and was doing it by dieting. Well, today I talked to him. He has gone from 355 to about 180. He was acting all interested in the band and I was telling him what I ate. When I told him I ate ice cream sometimes, he about had a cow. He said he wished "he" could eat ice cream. I told him I ate whatever I wanted, except for things that got stuck. He says to me, "Boy, if I had one of those, I would weigh 120 by now, that would be a piece of cake for me to do." Let me tell you, I was stunned to the point of not being able to answer. I am hurt, as well as upset. So, he thinks he could be 120 because he thinks he works so much harder at losing weight than I do, I guess. I don't know, but man, after I got off the phone with him, I was quite frustrated with him. He thinks I have is so easy. He is mad because I can eat ice cream once in awhile. Man, he makes me feel like a piece of manure whenever I talk to him. I don't know if he knows he does it, but he does. I just had to get that off my chest, it was causing some emotional eating.

I was under mine too. I usually try to get 130 a week. Maybe got 80 in last week.

Great job BB!!!!! That is awesome miles and average!!!!! SAN, glad your DD is ok and not in the hospital, as you said, you would of ended up there, as would of I, at least I would of thought I should be there. BG, what kind of headlight did you get???? Did you get the combo light package? What about the holes in the road, could you see them good? How far to work from your house is it? Ok, enough of the twenty questions. I did not ride Saturday, we took a drive to a state park to see if we wanted to go camping there. We didn't get home until 6 and then I had to get dinner and then it was just not working out. I was kinda disappointed I did not get in my 40, but thought I would do it Sunday after church. Well, Sunday after church we decided to go fishing and when we got back we decided to go mountain biking. Boy, let me tell you. You want a workout, go hit a mountain trail. I think we only went maybe 4 miles and I was drenched from head to foot. It is such a different kind of workout, I really like the road biking better I have decided. So, when we got home, I jumped on creamy and went about three miles hard and fast, just to make up for not going fast in the mountains. Tonight though, we are going 40, and thats that!!

HP, you are closing in fast on me...... I better do some riding today...and a lot!!!
-
I wish I could be more disciplined and run. I tried it awhile back, and I hated every stinkin minute of it!!!! My knees hurt and oh, did I mention I hated it. What I did like about it was that I was doing it, actually running, but other than that, its not my thing.
-
BG, I am thinking about you and praying for you and your whole family. J, feeling better today??? Zicam, I tell ya, Zicam!!! HP, We are pretty much rednecks, definitely not professor material here!!! We DO have all of our teeth though!!! And we don't wear overalls...but yeah, we camp and fish and ride our bikes, how much more hillbilly can ya get??? LOL....what does your DH do, by the way, he looks like he might be a school teacher....high school science???
-
Well, I totally agree with the medicines....try some of the airborne, although you have to take it as soon as you start feeling sick. Another good one is Zicam. I love that stuff!!!! Hope you feel better really soon!!! I want pictures of the Muddy Buddy!!!
-
Welcome SDP!!! Glad to have another cyclist amongst the bandsters!!
-
I just reread your post...I am awake because I can't sleep. Instead of laying there tossing and turning, I am here. Why are you sick? Flu?
-
J, I'm awake!!! 1:41 am here

I started out with mountain biking shorts with the padding because I did not want to be seen with the spandex shorts. I wore those all last year. They were very uncomfortable because the outside part rode up between my legs. They had a spandex liner in them, but they were definitely not comfortable to ride in. I bought the compression/spandex this year and have loved every minute of it. They are so much better!!

I have never had a problem with my camelback. I think its actually better, less air coming out. I still don't drink from a straw, but pretty sure I could....just don't see a reason too.

Me and Lance ARE pretty tight now-a-days.........ya know, now that I am his personal trainer and all............hahahahahah...........I was calling my DD, she didn't go with us, and of course had a dire emergency just as I was coming up the top of that hill:cursing::thumbup: It was about the computer.....oh brother.....

I can't wait to tell my DH that!!! He is a welder!!!! I was laughing at that, and it would be even funnier if you ever met him!!!:crying:
