Hello to all, I just wanted to start by saying that the decision I have made to have the lapband is the best decision I have ever made. I am willing and is interested in every piece of information out there that will help me in my journey. This is new to me within the past few months but I've done my research. I have struggled with my weight my whole life ever since the age of 8. . I've always been the tallest biggest girl in my class. It was obvious that I always was the different one. Once I became an adult I continued to grow and grow and at one point I thought it would stabilize, but guess what it didn't. As I aged my weight became larger and larger and soon it was out of control. I tried all the fad diets to help me with the excess weight I would succeed but the weight would come back with a vengeance. So I accepted the weight with the yo yo trend at my side and finally it started affecting me physically at work and daily activities. My feet would hurt at work and I would become short of breath with the simplest activities. I now know that I had to do so etching that would have a more permanent outcome. A more concrete solution to my problem, so I decided to get the lapband. My surgery date is October 31st 2013. I am ready and I'm excited. I'm not looking for a quick fix but rather lifestyle of change and committement that I am will to do. I'm ready for the new healthy me at 30. Wish me luck!
