Well I have officially received my date. Aug 21!! I am super excited. Having a little bit of a hard time with the pre op diet. And my nerves are a little on edge. Just because I am not sure what to really expect. I have a had multiple surgeries before so being under is not worrying me but the whole after math. I should a never googled lap band. Lol. But the I look at the % rate of complications and it's very low... Now to get through this detox and on with the next phase post op! Is there quite a bit of pain after surgery?? Any words of wisdom pre op diet. Post op diet and with the surgery would be great. I am 28 and have a bmi of 30. So they say I won't lose extremely fast. But at a healthy speed. Thank you!!!

Hi. High cortisol levels could mean something more is going on with your body. Such as Cushing's disease? I would ask to see an endocrinologist if ur levels are still high.

Feeling down... Not where I need to be

I have a few friends that have gotten the sleeve. One is doing great and the other two have Had many complications. They also have to watch what they eat to a T or they will start gaining back. I'm a nurse and the reason I chose the band was because I saw it as not so permanent. As with the sleeve they actually cut some of your stomach out. And as you know once some of an organ is removed they can not put it back. I think with any procedure that a person goes through there are always going to be uphill battles. However be patient and work through them. I know the fills can be a pain however it's just all about maintenance of the band. Just keep going forward. But there is maintenance with the sleeve as well. Not so much as in fills but in other ways. Either way they are both tools to help with weight loss. -
I finally arrived home from surgery. All is well and the clinic was great

I just arrived home from surgery. Not too much pain. Just the gas is killing me. So stock up on Gas X. They are me new best friends
-
Sorry I forgot to say it is policy apparently to not allow clients to fly until 10days after surgery without. Letter

Hi I am commenting on the traveling part. Today I was coming home on the plane and of course I was waking a bit slow and I had a band aid where my needle was so the stewardess asked what happened. Next thing I know they are not letting me fly. Apparently with airlines you need a dr letter saying your medically cleared to fly. I didn't know this and my dr hasn't had to do many of them. ( I guess it all depends on who you get as your stewardess) needless to say I got the letter within the hour and I was able to catch the next flight. This is just a heads up. I would hate for that to happen to anyone it put my day in shambles and all I wanted to do is go home. Ash

How many calories for the beginning?

Good to hear your doing good. I also had a hernia repaired. The gas pain is starting to subside. But now I am getting hunger pains almost. Clear fluids are getting the best of me. Hugs Ashley

Aug 21 is surgery date?? Are you feeling well?? Sore?
-
Yes it is getting less each day. However at night is when I have had to be in complete control as throats when I snacked so much. But I'm doing good. Today is day 3 and at one point I felt a little week. So I ate a cup of veggies and it seemed to help a bit.
