Surgery scheduled 10/03/04
blossom replied to taylorrae9's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Welcome, Melanie! Dec. 3 will be here before you know it!!! Keep us posted on your journey! -
Welcome, Mary E!!! Sounds like you are doing an awesome job! Congratulations!!!!
-
Betty, I am an administrative secretary. I am fortunate that I do get to have this site on the computer in my office. I'm serious, ya'll! I really did have to come back early so I could log on! Is there a pill for this???? LOL!
-
Welcome home, Melissa!!! I am post-op 5 days, and I promise that soreness goes away quickly. I slept on my tummy last nite! I got the gummy vites, but I am not taking them yet since I am still on liquids. Greg, you are such a mess, and I love you dearly!!!
-
I think you're doing great! Like Pam said, you are DOWN 46 pounds!!! Sounds to me like you just need to find your "sweet spot" with the fills, that's what we are all looking for. Have you explained that to your mom? It takes time to find it. Besides a slow weightloss is a healthier weightloss. I'm sorry you're feeling bad. A mother's criticism always cuts the deepest (and I have had many deep cuts)! Just keep your focus on a new healthier you. You never know, your mom may just decide to get healthy too!
-
Woo Hoo!! That's great, Paula!!!
-
ROFLMAO!!! Ya'll are too funny! Personally, I can't wait for my boobs to go. I would love to be so flat I didn't even have to wear a bra! Of course, DH might not like that....
-
Hey, Dallas! Nice to meetcha! Looks like you're doing really well in your journey!
-
Hey ya'll! I live in Denton. Banded November 5, 2004!
-
Yep! We're definitely gonna have to do a North Texas Thang!
-
Way to go, Leatha! Wow! 50% is awesome!!!!
-
Thanks, Everyone!!!! Ya'll are all so sweet (even Greg!)! I have a new development. Last night and again this evening I have had some major gas. I thought all the gas pains I was reading about was just the gas they blow you up with for surgery, not this bloated, farting gas. I have chewed a whole box of gas-x and am still gassy. I think my stomach must be really swollen, because I just can't put much in there, not even much Water. Could this be the reason for all the gas?
-
Hey, Betty! You're doing great, girl! Was real food scary?? Bet it was de-lish!!!
-
OMG!!!!! You guys!!!! I have literally laughed til I cried! And here I am only 3 days post-banding wondering where all this gas came from!
-
Alex, your gonna do great! Just remember that you only have to tell them as much as you want them to know. Even if they don't say anything, you know they're gonna be thinking, Wow she has done an awesome job. Bet that was hard to do, she must have some willpower!!!
-
I forgot to tell you guys the funniest part! After surgery, they put those lovely hose on me to prevent blood clots in my legs. But then they went even further and wrapped my feet in these inflatable footware things. Every few seconds one would inflate and clench my foot, then the other one would do the same thing. Felt like someone was at the foot of the bed grabbing my feet! Boy, if it weren't for the morphine I wouldn't have gotten any sleep at all!!! LOL!
-
Whew!! I am so glad that's over with! I can only imagine how uncomfortable that must have been. Glad to hear you are doing fine now!
-
TannsGranny, you have definitely found the place for research in a friendly, loving atmosphere! And you will be surprised at how many Texans are here, too! Glad to meetcha, welcome to the board!
-
I agree! This site is wonderful! After I found it, I stopped looking at all the others because they made me uncomfortable. Just about all my research was done right here, and I feel as if I have made many new and important friends, as well!
-
Hey, Scott! Glad to hear you are doing better. Wow! Sounds like a really rough start. I hope all that follows is easy for you!
-
Hey, me too!!! We were banded on the same day! Sounds like you are doing well. I am glad you made the decision to choose Ortiz. Sounds like your experience with him was very positive. Welcome to bandland!!!
-
Lauri, I feel for ya, girl! I can't add any better advice that what has already been said, but I just want you to know that you are loved.
-
Kelly, I just want to wish you the best of luck tomorrow! I'm keeping you in my prayers, girl! I know you will do just great!
-
LOL, Marie! That's exactly what I did do!

Just found out, I have to be at the hospital at 11am and surgery is scheduled for 12:30. Or so they say....
