Way to go, Jode and Greg!!!! You both are doing fabulous!!!

What Alex said!! And I also agree with Ryan that you should look for a more informed PCP. If my PCP said something like that to me, I would find myself questioning all the treatment he had given me and wonder if his knowlege and judgement is what is best for me. My trust would most certainly be replaced with doubt. It's normal to be nervous. I got a little nervouse a couple days before, but on the day of surgery I was cool as a cucumber. However, my DH was a basket case, LOL!!! Good luck to you! I am sure you will be just fine!

Well, I want to remain in the closet. I know the minute I tell, I will immediately feel like I am under a microscope, with everyone watching and waiting to see if I fail. I applaud those of you who feel you can tell everyone else about the band, but I know it will be a long time before I feel comfortable with doing that.

Michelle, I was really surprised when my dr said 1 week full liquid, 1 week mushies then introduce solids. I figured I would just do what felt right and if I felt I needed to be on liquids longer then I would stay on them. But, I am a fast healer. The swelling went away after only a few days and I have very little restriction and a voracious appetite, so I went ahead and started mushies the 2nd week. The chili was probably a day or 2 early on my schedule, but I had no problems with it. Geez, I can hardly wait for my first fill!!! Thanks for the suggestion, Betty. I will try that. Marie, your sons don't know!!! Have they noticed how slim, healthy and active you are becoming? Paula, I hope you're right! We are a pretty close knit group, though, hence the worry they will notice. LOL, instead of worrying about the time, we just make sure the bosses come with us!!!

Ryan, I have been in a state of euphoria ever since I had surgery. I am just giddy with the thought that I have actually done something so important for myself. I keep reminding myself that eventually my band will benefit my DH as well. But for now, that band is MINE, ALL MINE!!!

Thanks, LisaG! You're a doll!!!!

WooHoo!!! What a lucky break!!! I wonder why I didn't have to see a shrink? I definitely need one, LOL!!!

Leatha Before, during and after

Leatha, you are such an inspiration to me!!!! You have done such an awesome job and you are beautiful!!! -
My surgeon gave me a form letter to give to my PCP so that all she had to do was basically fill in the blanks. I wish I would have kept a copy. I did see a post somewhere on this forum where someone posted a link to something like that, but I can't find it now. Anyway, I guess the easier you make it for your PCP, the better your chances are of getting the letter. I took all my documentation with me to prove to the PCP that this is something I really need. I also took my "Don't you dare argue with me" attitude, LOL!!! Though, I don't know that it helped any. Good luck!

Zoe, I'm afraid that will be my case too. But, Sarah, a girl can dream...LOL!

-
Wow!!! You look GREAT!!!! Congratulations!!!
-
Yeah, Ryan!!!! :banana :banana :banana Congratulations!!! I am so glad it has been easy for you. I promise it just gets better every day! You are so right that those not yet banded are going through the hardest part. But it is so worth it to hang in there. Keep us posted on how you're doing!

DUH!!!! He's a DOCTOR and he had to ask YOU if this is a bariactric thing?!?!? I guess he only treats snotty noses! LOL!!!
-
:knockedou Ya'll are all so sweet! I'm kinda leaning toward #2 because it seems to look a little more like the real me. But then #3 is just me expressionless. But, as an avatar, #2 might make me look like a smartass, LOL! Oh, heck! I just can't decide! Zoe and Delarla, the bootie thing is Willie's newest hit. It's a HOOT!!!! But believe me, I have PLENTY of bootie!!! LOL! I know by some standards, I may be considered a light weight, but I think if I were 'normal' size, I would be pretty small. I'm hoping to lose at least 80lbs.
-
LOL!!! You guys are too much!!!! So far #1 is winning. Keep the votes coming ya'll!

After only one week I could lift my 12 lb baby (four paws and a tail!) with no problem whatsoever.
