Thanks, Ladies! Michelle, I am glad your dr. had given you those instructions, makes sense to me. I think I will go ahead and keep my Wed. appointment.
-
Pat, welcome to bandland!!!! Congratulations!!! Let us know how your doing as soon as you can.

Hmmmm....ShrinkingViolet brings up some very interesting speculations. Sure would answer a few questions! I wonder what the J & J band is made of...
-
Did anyone get their book yet? I ordered on Nov. 3 and I still don't have it.

Pat, your gonna be just fine, hon! Now take a deep breath and try to put you focus on something else for a while, (I know, easier said than done!) I was feeling kinda nervous the day before, but the day of surgery it was like a calm just washed over me and I knew all was well. I hope that happens for you, too. Now, my DH was an entirely different story... Just know that we are all here for you, we are all keeping you in our thoughts and prayers, and in spirit, we will all be right by your side. You can do this, I know you can!

Well, I am now officially a bandster! :banana The surgery went really well and although I am pretty sore, I have not really experienced a lot of pain. I went to the hospital at 11 am yesterday and was in surgery by 12:30. That was a lot sooner than I expected! I figured I would be lucky if I was in by 3. Sugery lasted 2 hours. I expected to be able to get up and start walking after surgery, but that was not the case for me. I was hooked up to an IV, oxygen, and a catheter until about an hour before being released. No walking for me! I had a basal drip of morphine in my IV that gave me a dose about once per hour and I also had the button in case that was not enough, but I only pushed it once and I think that was more out of curiosity than real pain. Also, I feel the gas a little but it's not painful at all. All in all, I have to say this surgery has been a piece o' cake!!! I have 5 incisions, the longest about 2 inches. My DH has been the worst Nervous Nellie you could imagine! He has been hovering over me like a brand new momma and won't let me do ANYTHING for myself. OK, I admit, I kinda like it!!! My boss brought over a gift basket with all kinds of cute things and a card signed by everyone at work AND she stopped by the mexican food store and bought a bunch of frozen homemade tamales! It's gonna be at least a couple of weeks before I can give them a try, though. Can't wait!!! What's really funny is that they still don't know what kind of surgery I had, LOL! My dr said I week of liquids and then I can start softs, but I am going to play it by ear. If I don't feel like I am ready for softs yet, I will definetly stay on liquids. One thing I have learned from all of you is to take this part slow and easy! I can't believe how easy this has been for me! I hope this is a sign of good things to come!

Hi Guys!!!! I am now a month out, doing great and eating like a horse. I am definitely on solids. Some of you may already know about this, but when I saw my surgeon last week he told me I have a 10cc band and that is why I can eat so much. Because of that he thinks I can have a fill a little earlier that usual, so next Wednesday, I will see him again and if he thinks the time is right, I will get my first fill. I can hardly wait since I can eat just about like preband. At this point, if I didn't have the scars to remind me, I wouldn't even know I was banded, LOL! Fran, it all gets better every day. REALLY!!!

Greg, I hope all goes well for your mom and I am truly sorry to hear about your aunt. Be sure you take care of yourself, too. Don't over do it and try to get some rest. Been missing you!!!
-
Wow! I am shocked that Lopez actually called you after all this time! One of these days you will have to give us all the details on how that came about! I am so proud of you for doing so well with your weight loss while going through all that agony with your port incision. I am saying prayers and crossing my fingers that you will get to keep your band. Keep your chin up, Lisa, we are all here for you.
-
Pat, I answered you on some other thread. But, next Wed. I will hopefully get my first fill. Can't wait!!!

Hi, Pat! I am going to see the surgeon next Wed., Dec.8. He told me if everything looks ok then we will go to the hospital for a fill (I wish we could just do it in his office!) Lisa, I find I can eat corn tortillas, but not flour tortillas. Seems weird to me since I can eat a huge burger bun!!! Sometimes I think my band wears an evil little smile!
-
Nancy, you are a true inspiration!!! Congratulations on your loss and nsv's!

I know exactly how you feel, Alex. I really hate being a secretary, but have no idea what else I might want to do, so I just stay in the same old rut. Someday, I'm gonna grow up and be......a ?
