I need help/advice from fill veterans
blossom replied to nat's_back's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Mom, its all a learning curve! Sounds like your band is telling you not to eat scrambled eggs. I get that pain too. Sometimes I will be able to eat something just fine and the next time I try it I get the pain. Just depends on how my fickle band is feeling at any given time, LOL!! -
Say a prayer as I go for my ckup today....

Brenda, so sorry to hear about your slippage. I'll keep you in my prayers for insurance coverage and a speedy surgery date. -
Tony, don't make the same mistake I did! I went with a dr new to lapband (although he was a laproscopic specialist) and now I am dealing with much frustration of feeling like a lab rat while he gets the aftercare stuff right, not to mention extra expense. I have to say, though, that he did the surgery beautifully. Try looking for a very experience dr. for both your surgery and your aftercare.

Ryan, I am so glad that Patty finally has some relief!!!!! Now, you be sure to to give yourself a little TLC, too. Patty needs you and so do we!!!! ((((Ryan and Patty))))
-
Kim, I sooo know how you feel! I though I would never get restriction, but finally it's here and I am so relieved. However, mine seems to be coming and going. I'm giving it a little time, but I may ask the dr for just a tiny bit more.

Congratulations!!! It gets better every day. Welcome to bandland!!!

Hmmmm.....maybe I'm just dense, but when I go to user cp I don't see anything to tell me who's on line or what they are looking at.

Ok, so sliming without food coming back up is a PB? And the golf ball feeling without food coming back up is a PB? In that case, I've had several! I'm in the throes of PMS and restriction had definitely made an appearance! I just hope it sticks around.

How can you tell it's viewing your profile?

Way to go, Leatha and Nancy!!!!! 170's! Wow!!!

Thanks, Zoe! I'm gonna print that out and show my dr. I have been going to radiology at the hosp for my fills. My surgeon isn't even there. The radiologist have called the machine they use flouroscopy, but you have to lye down. A tv screen shows a live pic of the band and port so that the radiologist can do a fill without missing the port. There is no barium swallow. Hmmm.....

Good luck, Lauren! Hope you have an easy and speedy recovery! -
Zoe, I'm confused... Did you get a fill sitting up or lying down??? All of my fills have been done lying down, they never tried looking at barium going through after or during a fill. Is my blonde showing or is this just my redneck band again????

This won't give you immediate relief, but I just wanted to let you know that I had terrible allergies (you name it, I was allergic to it!) all my life. I have been taking allergy shots (immunotherapy) for over 3 years now and the difference is amazing. Yes, I still have some allergy symptoms, but they are nothing like they used to be. I have a couple of more years of shots to go, and I will happily take them!!!

Leatha, I'm so glad to see that you are finally on the mend!!!! Here's hoping for a full recovery in the shortest amount of time!

Pati, you are a baby bandster and I think you will find yourself becoming more relaxed and comfortable with your band in the coming weeks. Your dh probably will too. However, it is good that you and dh are thinking about all the 'what ifs' of what could happen when you become thinner. This is a good time to talk it all out and make a commitment that your love for each other will overcome any issues that may or may not arise. Also, here is another thought, in the beginning I think we all are a little protective of our bands. Could it be that he may be feeling a little left out??? How about getting some vitamin E cream and asking him to gently massage it onto your insicisons (ask your dr if you can use it first!), anything to let him feel he is still a part of your world....

Band Rejection - Answer to Port Problems
blossom replied to DeLarla's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Lisa, all of my incisions itched for several weeks. Drove me CRAZY!!! I asked my dr about it and he said it was from the nerves healing back together. Eventually it stopped, although I do still get an itch now and again. I am keeping my fingers crossed and saying prayers that the itch you feel is a sign of HEALING!!!! -
I had my band placed in November and had my 1st, & 2nd fills in December and a third fill in early January. I may be getting another fill soon. Some people can go for months on just one fill, some can't get through the first month on just one fill, LOL! Its a gamble, that's for sure!!! Good luck with your decision.

WooHoo!!!! March 18 will be here before you know it!!
-
Ryan and Patty, I'm keeping you both in my thoughts and prayers. I truly hope that this procedure is successful in giving Patty the relief she needs.
