You really will want something loose and comfy around the belly. I wore some pull on capri type sweats, t-shirt, slip on shoes, an old stretched out sport bra and my biggest undies. I was a fashion queen, I tell ya!!

Jen, I have had 3 fills and may soon go for another. Personally, I believe that the main reason for having a lapband is to have restriction. If you don't have restriction, then whats the point of having the darn thing??? I guess what I am trying to say is if you think you need another fill, then get one!

Holy Cow!!! I gained something like 12 or 13lbs in the months before surgery, but I lost it while on my 10 day pre-op liquid diet, so I don't even count it. Some drs feel it is safer to perform surgery if you have lost weight, it's supposed to shrink your liver. If you are only 1 pound over your drs limit, then you will probably be just fine. It sounds to me like this 'fellow' is putting a scare tactic on you. Were it me, I would just show up for surgery whether I lost that 6 lbs or not. Nobody weighed me when I got to the hospital! However, if you are really concerned about it, I suggest you call your dr and speak to HIM about it and not talk to the 'fellow'. Honestly, the nerve of these people!!!

Estela, I was banded in my home town of Denton, TX. So far all of my fills have been done by whatever radiologist is on duty at the hospital, but I have heard that my surgeon will be doing them himself from now on. At least, I hope what I heard is true, even though I feel like I have to fight with my dr over every fill. He's pretty new at this and just can't seem to wrap his mind around me needing so much fill, I'm already at 3cc's. It's too bad you have to go back to Mexico for every fill. However, I have heard that you can get banded in Cancun (Dr. Ortiz & associates, I think) so you can probably get a fill there, too. If I had to go back to Mexico every time I needed a fill, that would be my choice! Good luck with your next fill!

Hey, that ring would be a great goal gift! Once you reach your goal, go get that ring! I haven't been able to wear my wedding ring in a few years. I looked for it last week and can't find it anywhere!!!! OMG!!!!

I'llSucceed, I loved your post! For me, the word excercise has so many negative feelings associated to it. No wonder I don't wanna do it! I need to think up a lovely name for it, too. Oh, or maybe sexercise because exercise will give me a sexy bod, LOL!!! Has anybody tried the ablounger? Hunk o junk or worth it?

Oh boy, can I relate!!! I did the very same thing. I actually gained about 5-6 pounds before I finally started going in the other direction. I had to get 3 fills before I felt any restriction. Now I have some restriction, but I think I am still not quite at the level I need to be at. I'm just trying to work up enough energy to argue with my dr about it, LOL!

Aliens!!!!! LOL!! I think you probably are just having some muscle spasms. Just ask your dr about it next time you go in for a follow up or fill. As long as you aren't in pain or throwing up or anything it's probably not anything that can't wait until you see your dr. again. Meanwhile, have fun with it!!! Lay things on your tummy and watch em move around, LOL!

I have a very boring job, so I find myself often on LBT posting meaningless dribble, LOL! I am also researching everything I can about home building. And, I am an avid gardner so I am ALL OVER Gardenweb. If there is one thing I do really well, it's research on the internet. Gosh, one of these days I'll probably get reprimanded for constantly being on-line, but who cares, LOL!

Oh, geez! I am always a day late on the birthday threads!!! Well, happy belated birthday, Shelly! Hope you had a wonderful day and good luck with your fill today!!!
-
katerzz, I noticed your site does not address the subject of fills. I think you should put as much info as possible about fills since it is such an important part of the journey. There is a lot of information on the LBT Fills section. Just a suggestion...

Wow, what a task you have set for yourself!!! I applaud you for your effort! I will be checking out your site and giving it some thought and if I can think of anything that may help I'll let you know.

I have chosen to stay in the lapband closet, for the most part. I told my DH, mother, sister, and my best friend. If anyone tells it will be my mom, but so far, she has kept her mouth shut for once, LOL! I just don't want to feel like I am under a microscope. I feel it's nobody's business how I choose to live my life or lose my weight!

Hmmmm....sounds pretty shady to me!

Well, everyone has a different recovery experience. Some go easy and fast, some don't, LOL!!! As for myself, I had a very easy and fast recovery. I was back to work on day 5, although I probably could have gone back on day 4.
-
Trish, it doesn't matter if it's March or April. What matters is .... YOU"RE GETTING YOUR BAND! Wooohoo!!!!!!
-
Well, lots of people get bloody noses in the colder months because the air is so dry. I do and it seems like the least little thing can get one started. Mabe you could try using a saline nasal spray and see if that helps. Now the jumping, vibrating port thing just sounds weird! LOL!
-
Jonathan, you could try sipping the Jello while it's still warm and unjelled at this point. Considering your situation, though, you shouldn't try to eat any after it's jelled until you REALLY think you can keep it down. I could eat jello the day after surgery, but I had a VERY fast and easy recovery. By week 4, I could eat a whole Whataburger with cheese! I'm soooo bad....
-
Bless your heart!!! I am so sorry this has been so difficult for you! At least it sounds as if your keeping a few sips down now. Keep taking it slow and easy. I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed that you won't throw up anymore! Good luck...
-
Well, I guess I am different! I cannot feel my port, but I can feel something (not sure if it is the band or the tube) high up on my tummy. It's very hard and about 2 1/2 inches horizontal. I also have a sensation that is somewhere between tender and sore, hard to explain, but it's enough to remind me often that I have a band.

I have a Sony Mavica CD500. It takes great pics, I just can't figure out the software, LOL!
-
Dream, I love your attitude! You just cracked me up! You have done a super job. I look forward to seeing you around here often!
-
Wow! What a great job you have done!

Welcome back and congratulations!

Darcy, I am totally brain damaged, LOL!!! I have NEVER known when to stop eating. I just kept going until I physically could not stuff one more bite into my mouth and then I would feel sick and miserable. I have really been struggling with this issue in relation to my band in that I'm not sure what 'satisfied' feels like unless I am stuffed and sick and miserable! I guess I'm a slow learner, LOL!
