I'llsucceed, I'm glad you said that! Now I don't feel so weird anymore, LOL!!! Can't wait to get my new scales so I can figure out how much I really weigh. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the 215 was correct!!!
-
I usually weigh myself 3 times. I don't know why, I just do, LOL!!! This morning the first weight was 215, second 220.5, third 218. What the hell????? My scales aren't terribly old, what's going on here? I must need a new set. Can anyone recommend a reliable brand that I can depend on and doesn't cost an arm and a leg? Thanks!
-
Betty, I still don't get signals until its too late, too. Also, I am having a hard time figuring out what full feels like. I only know stuffed!
-
Kevin, ease up a little! You just had surgery!!! Listen to Mrs. Kevin, she knows what she's talking about.

I just bought the Tanita scale Plus Body Fat Monitor with Athlete Mode, #BF-680 at drugstore.com. Darcy, you were right about their prices! They had it on sale for $20 off plus free shipping and a free bottle of window cleaner (like that'll get used, LOL!). Teresa, I took a chemistry class a couple of years ago and we had to measure everything 3 times, too. Maybe that IS why I get on the scales 3 times in a row, LOL!
-
LOL!!!! I should have made myself clearer....I weigh myself once a week, first thing in the morning, butt nekkid! For some silly reason I always do it 3 times right in a row. Maybe its my mojo??? Anyway, thanks for the tanita suggestion. I will definitely give it a look.

Well, since Valentine's Day is almost upon us, there is chocolate everywhere I look at work. Finally, yesterday I allowed myself to have 4 hershey kisses. Not bad considering I coulda had a TON!!! I find that the more I tell myself I can't have something, the more I want it, so sometimes giving in and having a little is good thing! -
Yep! In the early days it was just one or two hiccups a little while after eating. Now I get a full fledge hiccup attack almost everytime I eat meat. It's embarrassing in a restruarant!
-
Congrats!! I had UHC, too. Let us know when you get a date!!!

Taking A Poll, How Much Was Your 1st Fill?
blossom replied to FutureSlimMe's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Estela, will your dr be able to do the fill with flouro and a barium swallow so that he can watch and make sure you get a proper fill? I ask because my own dr doesn't have the kind of equip to do that, but it sure would make life easier!!! If not, I suggest that you have a thorough discussion with your dr about how much you can eat right now and let him advise you on how much fill you should have. No one here could even begin to guess at how much you may need. Good luck!!! -
What a bummer!!!! Especially since you haven't even had your first fill! I hope all works out well for you. Good luck!!!
-
Wow! Chris, I am so sorry your going through this. This is just my opinion, but IF it is determined that your band really did slip do to the weightloss (Congrats!), if I were you I would absolutely let them go in and reposition. You are right, why have this band if it is not working properly? Good luck and keep us posted on what happens!

Vines, I used to do water aerobics and I LOVED it!!! I really put some effort into it and got pretty toned up and had lots of fun doing it. I had to quit doing it when my schedule changed and thats when I became this big hunk o flab. Man, if I had a pool, I would really be working out!!!
-
WoooooHoo, Onderland!!!! WTG, Darcy! And you're such a cutie pie, too!!!
-
Dang, Teresa! I didn't know all of this was still going on. Hope all goes well for you!!!

How do people get along without this?
blossom replied to Jonathan's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
((((Hugs all around!)))) Jonathan, I am glad to hear your are doing so much better! You had us worried there for a little while!!! Yes, this site is great and I don't know what I would do without it. I went to a local support group and wasn't impressed at all. I probably won't go back. This site is my support and you are all my band family!!! -
I think that fills are a very individual thing and only YOU can know if that is what you need. One could be a sweets junky, snacker, nibbler, or grazer, or eat HUGE meals, so restriction will play a different role in each situtation. One fill does not fit all, so to speak. As with everything else about this band, restriction is different for everyone.
-
LOL!!! Darcy, you remind me of the commercial where everyone is talking about what services they want from their bank!
-
Yep! I could eat like a horse before and after my 1st fill, and my 2nd fill! Third fill finally gave some restriction. Go for the numbing. Its hurts a lot less than that big needle would!
-
Bra-less just wasn't an option for me and yes the girls would have rubbed an incision without one. I would have just gone bra-less except that all my research had told me to expect to be up and walking around the hosp. after surgery. I just couldn't wrap my mind around doing that without a bra on, (I mighta knocked someone out!) LOL!!! Then, it turned out that they didn't want me to walk at all, go figure!!! My sport bra was not a pull over, but had hooks just like a regular one. It is just very stretchy with very little support and no underwires, but it was better than nothing and I was able to wear it without a lot of discomfort.
-
Wow, Vera! I hope everything goes well. I'll keep you in my prayers. You are very lucky to have a dr who is so willing to work with you.
-
Yuck!!! Hope you are feeling better today.
