Hey all, I was banded 1/8 and had my first fill today! Doctor put 4 and overall was a quick easy procedure. I told my surgeon I wanted to be 60 pounds lighter by December and if it was possible to get my fills quicker. He didn't hesitate or show any concern so I've been booked in to have my second fill next week then the third the week after and so on. So I'm getting a fill each week. Is this normal? Should I be concerned or happy that they'll be consecutive. Has anyone had their fills done in this way?? I've lost 20 pounds so far. I'm hoping the fills will keep my weight loss consistent

Mis73 thanks you so much for the reply. Everything you said makes perfect sense. I completely forgot about the green zone concept. My doctor did mention that once I stop craving snacks in between meals I've found my green zone. How did you find this? What indicator did you follow as to what fill is your ideal green zone?

Today is the 14th day post op and I had a family gathering. I have in and had a few bites of pizza, chocolate and ice cream! I chewed well but didn't wait 1 min between each bite! I'm stressing as I don't know if I've done any serious damage. Does this mean I've stretched my stomach, band??? I wanted to force myself to throw everything up but then got even more scared I'd move the band! Am I meant to feel pain? What are the signs I've ruined it. I was doing so well! It wasn't even hunger just head hunger and temptation cause its been so long. Do I need to inform my surgeon ASAP?

*meant stretched thr top part of my stomach the band has been placed around. I've had no fills yet - I'm scheduled for 27/8

Thanks so much for that Rob. Everything u mentioned is correct. I'm more worried that I've stretched the top of the band than anything. I wish there was a way of knowing. Thanks so much for all your input.

Guy did you at least 1 min between each bite and chew it 20 times? U ate the burger bun too right? I'm looking for reassurance as u can probably tell
-
Thanks Lisa and Guy. My main concern is that I've done damage to the actual band. I mean I hit into pizza after 2 weeks. Isn't that serious? I heard because the band is so delicate and has just been places on the stomach- such actions can jeopardize that. I might call in the morning to make sure. Never doing this again. The guilt more than anything is preventing me from sleeping. I can't relax, I'm really anxious about what I did.

So in other words I should be worried that I'm not in any serious pain?? I have a little sharp pain in the stomach but nothing serious. I'm really worried I've ruined the banned. I'm so stupid!! It's only been 2 weeks !

Hello everyone. I'm not sure if I'm posting correctly as I just discovered this app yesterday and have been glued to my iPhone reading all the posts! I'm in Australia and had my procedure 1st August! Things seem to be going well. I'm down 15 pounds. Starting weight Was 216 lbs. I've spent hours reading all the stories and I love how this provides a feeling of support as everyone else knows what I'm going through. In saying that, reading all the stories about weight not coming off, complications and how the band may fail has made me extremely paranoid and I feel it'll affect my results I'm a smoker with a heavy cough n im scared my band will slip. Im scared ill be disheartened if I don't lose another pound tomorrow . Tomorrow will be 8 days after surgery and after the horror stories I'm too afraid to move onto mushy foods. All this because I've read so much n I feel I'm becoming obsessed. I'd love to join an August group to see how everyone's coming along. Not sure how to do that as yet.

Newbie Here! One week 9 pounds!!
jellybean_ replied to jellybean_'s topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Haha cooky I thought it was just me . My first fill is the 27th. I have a funny feeling we were operated on by the same group of surgeons. I read in my paperwork that I get to attend 2 dietician seminars specifically for banders; that should help. Good luck with everything -

Cooky when's your first fill? Are you finding you have any appetite at all? My first fill is in 2 weeks. I have no appetite what so ever and forcing soup down to avoid the nausea that comes with coffee and cigarettes :-/ -

Hazelbkiss thanks so much for that post. You hit the nail on the head! I think because I left my job before surgery it's become my whole focus! Your advice definitely reassured me. Hello fellow Melbournians how's everyone coming along? Cooky I'm feeling fine I just need to stop focusing on just that! I used to be a size 8 only 2 years ago- weighed 68 kilos and I'm 5"7. It's hard seeing what I was n where I am now. I'm in that mental cycle of "I can't do this I can't wear that I can't go there until I'm back at that weight" It's a wrong way of thinking but very hard not to. I never exercised in the past n managed but I think I should start to speed things up. Weighed myself today and I'm the same as yesterday. I'm meant to start week 2 mushy foods. What's considered healthy and mushy other than eggs and yoghurt? -
