Since I have started on solids my daily caloric intake has been between 1100-1200.....I have lost 15lbs so far. I have an appt on the 12th with my surgeon and I'm gonna see if that amount is ok....it's still WAY less than I use to consume tho

I too live in North Las Vegas!!! Close to Aliente and had my surgery done by Dr. Soong at the Surgical Weight Loss Center on August 19th!!!! I would love to have someone to do this with!!! I am a military wife and mom of four and I don't know anyone here

Heccat, I didn't set it at 900 calories..it says I should b consuming 1580 calories a day to lose 2lbs a week. I just got started on solid foods yesterday so it was just hard to get in over 900 on the mushie and liquids. I just put in whatever I was consuming and it just so happened to average at about 900. I am not trying to stay so low. I def don't wanna go into starvation mode. I have lost 13 lbs so far...it's been 15 days since my surgery so I fully expect that to drastically slow down very soon

WOW!! U guys r Truly amazing!!! Thank you so much for all your advice and for sharing your experiences. It has truly made me understand more about fills and getting stuck. Right now I am staying satisfied for three hour. I have been paying closer attention to the clock to see how long I am not hungry after a meal. I just started solids used yesterday so I still have some time to see how my restriction is and if it continues to b only three hours, I will def talk to my doc about a small fill. I am so glad I found this forum because without it I'm afraid I would b a little lost lol...thanks again

It's ok, I know u aren't targeting me. I thank u greatly for the info and advice. That's why I asked the question lol. I am starting solids today so hopefully by the 12th when I see my surgeon I will know whether or not I need a full. I just want to make the most out of getting my band without harming it or myself in any way. I really like that there r bandsters on here that are as knowledgeable as u

I am on mushies and get to start solids today. I made myself some mashed cauliflower last night and WOW was it good!!!! I had never had it before last night. Anyone else had anything since banded that they had never had before and found it absolutely delicious???

Don't get me wrong...I am VERY hungry shortly before meal time lol....I was hungry only a few days after surgery. Guess I will just roll with it and see how I am feeling hunger wise at my next appt

I went to McDonalds last night with my hubby and our four kids for dinner since we had to go to my oldest kids open house at school. I was feeling slightly worried that I would see them eating their burgers, nuggets and fries and it would make me sad. I ordered an unsweetened tea and a fruit and yogurt parfait. I didn't eat the blueberries and mushed the heck out of the strawberries. I know that the yogurt isn't fat free or anything but I felt so proud if myself that I was completely ok with what I was eating and did not even contemplate trying to mush up a French fry in my mouth to eat one. I took my time and finished my yogurt at the same time as everyone else was finishing their food. I left with my unsweetened tea in my hand and felt so proud of myself. I am only 11days out but to me that was a big accomplishment. One thing I was afraid of is going out to eat and not being able to eat what the rest of my family was eating and feeling left out. I'm so happy I didn't feel this way even with my husband sitting right in front of me eating a double quarter pounder and fries lol. It's the small things like this that will keep me happy and motivated to reach my goal....I am so happy I found this place to share these things with with people who understand these small things. You guys rock!!!!

I'm so sorry to hear this. It really touches my heart. I lost my grandma last year in July. We were extremely close. She was more like my mother and best friend than my grandma and it still hurts to this day. I know that I don't know me but my heart truly goes out to u and if u need someone to talk to that understands the close relationship with a grandma....I will listen. Hearts & thoughts

I don't drink either but it was a question I asked my surgeon before surgery. I have been know to partake in the spirits in the past but haven't in the past two years. I just wanted to know I case I ever got the urge again lol

coughing and sore throat?
PJkitty replied to YadairaD's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The sore throat is prob from the tube used down your throat during surgery. Cough is pretty normal too I've heard also from the tube and the anesthesia. If u start running fever u should call your dr. Don't know about the blisters on the lips tho...hope u feel better soon -
My surgeon said that its never good to have a lot of alcohol because of the empty calories but if u r at a party or get together and u want to have a cocktail or two, it's fine. No beer tho cuz of the carbonation.

My doc put me on mushies and I made some chili with ground turkey and puréed it and I'm scared to deaths to eat it!!!! I am taking tiny bites and I feel like I'm gonna cry!!!! Will I ever get over the fear of eating and having something get stuck?!?!?
-
Thanks...I managed to make it thru my meal without any problems. I just have this HUGE fear of throwing up!!! Scares me to death!!!! I actually ended up dumping out the puréed bowl and go a regular bowl of chili cuz I felt more in control I guess lol. Made me feel a little better about eating
