6 weeks in and no REAL loss and FINALLY Restriction at 6.5 !!! The best way that I can describe it is, its like swallowing an ice cube, whole, really fast, while its still solid.. Even if i have chewed a thousand times i can still feel it going down my throat and down into my chest. It definitely scared me I'd never felt this before now and i think I like it especially if it means eating less and losing weight. Maybe NOW i can do the no carb diet my office has been suggesting. My friends and coworkers have all cancelled their lap band consultations bcuz everything id lose after a fill id regain the same before the next fill. Hopefully my new found restriction will have them reschedule their appts! Yay Me!!!

I wldnt call it a pain during eating, for me its been a pinch or a tightness in my chest in mornings during Breakfast hours when its the tightest of the day. I have no restriction no pinch during lunch nor dinner at 7.5cc's. I can just smell the green pastures this is the closest ive ever been to the green side in 3months. Maybe now i can tell people ive had lap band once they see the lbs melting off?

At 7.5cc's in my 10cc band for 4 days now, i feel a pinch in my chest when i swallow. The 90 days before this and gradually working up to 7.5 i felt nothing and i followed the Atkins diet, but i cld eat tons of meats and veggies, as if i had no band at all. I was also working out. And my family look at me like im doing something wrong.

Im at 7.5cc's in a 10cc band for 4days now & the mornings & Breakfast is the only thing i have issues with gettn down. Is this cause for an unfill? Should i expect this to loosen as the weeks go on? My lunch and dinners go down just fine.

Oh really??? What problems do they cause doing their own fills? I'm dying to know. 2 nurses in my clinic says they do their own fills at home or to each other there in the office.

I sure wish someone explained this to me in pre-op. I think we go in believing we'll come out of surgery w/all the restriction necessary to drop the lbs & its furthest from the truth. Back in the day before Allergen they'd fill the bands to 7,8,9cc's in surgery. Lap band, i find, is the only the procedure that doesnt give significant restriction right outta surgery. I hate that ive told family & friends ive had lapband bcuz they ask me for weightloss updates & when they see me, they look me up & down & its been 90 days & i have to tell them everything ive lost after a fill ive regained so im back at my surgery weight, playing around with fills trying to find my green zone for the last 3 months.. Im at 7.5cc's in a 10cc band for 4days now, and its been 3 months since surgery, and im FINALLY feeling the push back of the band. Just hope it lasts this time. If not ill be back in their offices in 2 weeks...

I go every two weeks. The thing is, im at 7.5ccs for 2 days now and although i now feel the restriction, it never lasts long. So this is why i make my appts 2 weeks apart and no ones ever said anything to me Its about to be thanksgiving for crying out loud. I want to EAT the Turkey, not look like one! CTHU!!!! I wish there was some way we all cld do these fills ourselves. Ugh!

Well, im at 7.5cc's today. I feel the restriction but i also felt it the day i was filled to 6.5 Just hoping it lasts. Ive completely stopped my adderall a month ago and have gained 7lbs. Im getting desperate and frustrated. I wish i cld find a filler on the black market who can fill this thing on my terms...

Wear a pair of 5lb ankle weights so that u weigh more. U'll be asked to go on a 2week diet prior to surgery. Remove the weights and there's ur first 10lb lost! Please dont attack me guys! I do realize this isnt the best advice. But someone told it to me, i didnt do it and hear i am paying 10k outta pocket for the next 3yrs, because i was 15lbs from the bmi my insurance would pay 100% for...

Are u at 9.5cc's in a 10cc band and can still eat more than 4ounces the same as i am now at 6.5cc's?

I just want off this diet roller coaster. When Lap Band was 1st introduced people were coming out of surgery with great restriction. Weightloss started at day 1 post op. I feel like im wasting time getting 1cc here and there every month. Yes id like my green zone before Thanksgiving I have a new years resolution goal weight in mind id like to hit

Are u eating 'slider' foods? Any junk foods like ice cream or high calorie drinks? Potato chips? Breads? I cant wait to get from my current 6.5 to at least 8cc's in my 10cc band hoping 8cc's will give me that restriction to finally see a significant weight loss. Just hoping & praying my anticipation isnt for nothing.

Spoke too soon! My old hunger and horrible eating have both resurfaced! 6.5 is NOT my magic number. oh when will this end? Have i really wasted my money? Why cant they just fill me to 8 and get this over with??? Ugggghhhh!

Omg SashaBanded! U look GREAT!!! 74lbs?? How soon after ur surgery date did u get to 6.5? Do u work out? I see ur wearing my waist belt! Do u follow the no carb high Protein diet?

I was also wondering and ill make a point to ask at my next fill, but are the doctors counting the Fluid in the cord? Ive been watching youtube videos and some one mentioned having 5ccs in the actual band itself and one cc in the cord and her doctor records 6ccs.

If ur vomitting ur band is too tight and time for an UnFill. Some can endure it and rely on vomitting as a way to cut back on calories and can for the most part tolerate it. Im not one of those people however! Honestly if i cld do it all over again i wldve gotten the sleeve. Simply bcuz restriction begins the day ur out of surgery no monthly back and forward fill adjustments to find ur green zone. The sleeve was 3k more than the band and since im a cash patient i ended up with the band

Talking to my PA today, larger patients will get to Green before smaller patients. Picture a large esophogus on a larger patient w/a 10cc band, will feel Green at 3-5cc's Now Picture a small esophogus on a smaller patient w/a 10cc band, a 3-5fill will not even touch the sides of the small esophogus so theyll feel Green somewhere at 5-8cc's.

So....i got my 3rd fill today to 6.5 in a 10cc band. Feelin really restricted today. I pray it lasts. Just in case it doesnt i set my next appt to the next 2weeks & not 4! Ill never lose 20lbs by New Years goin in every 4wks

I was brought to 6.5ccs in a 10cc band just this morning. I finally feel what 'restriction' feels like. Hopefully this lasts. I made my appt for the next two weeks in case it goes away. Theres no way i could go 4weeks if this 6.5 restriction doesnt last. Id like to find my green pastures before the holidays come pouring in!

And YES!! I regret telln people i had lapband theyre expecting to see a great loss really quickly. I feel ive let them down and also myself. Im a cash paymnt i make paymnts every month and im still eating more than 4 ounces at meal time

Supposedly i have 5.5 in a 10 band this was my 2nd fill and i feel no restriction. Theres no way i can wait 4 weeks for a 3rd fill so i called today to have my appt moved up to the 16th of October. Theres a # we're suppose to call if we need an emergency UNfill after clinic hours. Im wondering if i could call the after hour # for an emergency FILL! #wishfulthinking

Ive been banded since 8/1 i tend to lose the most the first week or so following a fill, but once that restriction leaves the weight comes back. So im bouncing between 10-12lbs. Lose it/Gain it back yoyo I hear itll be this way until ive found my green zone so i shld depend on the no carb 4oz meal 3x a day in the meantime. Just hope its sooner than later.

Why arent u able to tolerate more than 1.8cc's? That could be the greatest issue. There is a little expected discomfort when ur eating and feeling full but shld be tolerable. But Besides following the diet they give us, what has your surgeon/nurses/staff recommend u do next? I felt no restriction at 3/10 but now at 4/10 i eat jst a little less with every fill.

Guess I forgot to say earlier that U will be mobile. Ur legs and arms will work. U wont be completely bed/sofa ridden. I needed no assistance gettn to the restroom for shower nor potty breaks. Most of ur discomfort will be in the tummy areas. Tummy soreness, gas, nauseasness (sp), etc
