I slept the entire day after surgery was over. Remove the sticker theyll apply behind ur ear soon as u awake. It cld be the source of ur feelings of puking. U'll have tremendous gas when u wake up. So i recommend Gas X soon as ur eyes open!! They will give u an rx for liquid vicodin it was sooo hard to find this at the pharmacies in my area so for about 3 days i was forced to chewing 500 mg acetaminaphin (tylenol) for any pain/soreness bcuz u wont be able to swallow ANYTHING whole for about 3-5 days. Coughing, sneezing, and laughing will hurt for abt a week or 2 but nothing too intolerable. No driving until ur certain the anastesia has worn off.. Do nothing strenuous. Take it easy like everyone says. I watched a lot of day time television and a ton of shows from the dvr. Good Luck =)

Follow your doctors orders to a T! Dont count on the band restricting ur food intake right out the gate. The diet and exercise for the first few months especially, will be some of you alls main source of weightloss. Count on the band doing its job 30% of the time & doctors orders the other 70% until your GREEN ZONE is reached. I wish each of u the best of luck & i cant wait to read ur weightloss stats/posts

To all the Newbies & any Banders (like myself w/anything to add) What they dont tell you is..... The weightloss isnt immediate. It cld take several fills & several months to obtain the restriction necessary to eat less & lose weight. Im 6 weeks in & filled to 4cc's with a band tht holds 10cc's. 2 weeks after ur fills u lose weight, the 3rd & 4th weeks ur appetite returns & thus so does the weight u've jst lost so follow the 4oz no carb meals 3x per day as instructed. No cheating. And EXERCISE!! This YoYo like diet will continue until uve been filled to your Green Zone, could be weeks, could be months to reach this Green. But not every one reaches double digit weightloss the first few months and wish id known this before surgery. So please weigh ur options and enter at your own risk.

I feel my most restriction a week to 2weeks after a fill. 3rd week it subsides and my hunger returns with a vengeance. Hopefully some day soon my restriction wont decide to abandon me! And will wanna stick arnd longer. Sometimes i wonder if ive sprung a leak somewhere along the way! LMBO!!

Hi SammyDeez So it sounds like u achieved Green Zone after only 3 fills. Hope im that lucky! Way to go! Keep it up. Ur well on ur way to the 16lb by end of October goal

PJKitty, I too am 4ccs in a 10cc band and the restriction only lasted two weeks for me. ? Sounds like u may have better luck! Keep us posted! Cant wait to hear the final monthly loss!

The first 5-7 days following a fill is common to feel this restriction. Im also 4cc's in a 10cc band for 17 days now and im able to get more food down & im also hungry more often. So enjoy this while u can and keep us posted!

Hi Britneygirl So are u back on solids now? Any restriction? Im also 4/10. 17days now. And i feel the hunger returning and i can eat more than in the first weeks after this fill. How abt u?

I understand why the need for slow fills/slow progress but what do u say to impatient friends and family who expect after 6 weeks of wls u shld be down 60lbs? Im 4cc's in a 10cc band for 16days now and my hunger has returned. My nephew asked me over the weekend at the dinner table had they taken my band out! #kidssaythedarndestthings

Hi Jezebelanne Jst wondering, in the last 4 yrs of not ever really feeling 'Green' how much have u lost overall? Im jst thinking what if i never reach the Green Pastures...will i still lose? Im 4cc's in a 10. I felt some restriction 2wks after my fill now im feeling nthn at all. What gives!!!

May i ask jst how many cc's does ur band hold if ur at 14? And around just how many fills did the yoyo'ing u describe here finally stop? In other words how many fills did it take before u were Green?

I was banded August 1st and received 3cc's day of surgery. For 2weeks i had no appetite, merely bcuz of the internal swelling gas and nausea. But my appetite returned w/a vengeance by the 3rd week when it all subsided. By the 4th week i was back eating full meals. Let ur clinic know at ur next fill ur not feeling any restriction. Some nurses are willing to help with getting us to the green zone quicker than others.

So immediately after ur fill ur able to eat solids right away without any discomfort? Do u mind me asking how many cc's we're tlkn about? And how much does ur band hold? I was the same way, able to eat anything, breads, rice, etc at 3cc's but not so much now that im at 4 in a band tht holds 10.

i think it depends on your fill at the time.... i had 3cc's the day of surgery...maybe somewhere around the 2nd-3rd wrk i was back to my old bread eating ways.... after my 1st fill to 4cc's....it is pretty uncomfortable goin down..its definitely a bump in the road... Maybe next week (3rd week at 4cc's) i may give it another go... :P

Well after many many years of being over weight and nearly (dare I say it) begging my boyfriend to be more involved buy a ring perhaps be more romantic I fear he may turn over a new leaf after my weightloss, as SHALLOW as it all my sound! Well, Its been 12 days since surgery and hes been nicer than ive ever seen. He says he thinks i will leave once im thinner. Question is, will i want him to do all these things, say 40lbs from now? Will i be more interested or less interested?

Day of surgery i went home with 3cc's in a band tht holds 10. 1st fill a mnth later i was increases to 4cc's. 2nd fill will be at the end of September. if i havent lost at least 8-10lbs i'll receive another full cc. but if ive lost more than 8-10lbs i may not get anything at all or maybe a .5

I came outta surgery w/3cc's and around the 3rd week once the internal swelling and gas subsided i was able to eat jst abt anything. I got my 1st fill 11days ago, bringing me to 4cc's, while I was once able to finish an entire can of pringles during a single television show #ultimatecouchpotato im not able to do this anymore. Maybe as the days progress my appetite will return although i earnestly pray that it doesnt. Im gonna try the no carb, 4oz meal, 3x a day the clinic reccomends in the meantime.

Ive had only 1 fill and the first few days were tight...11 days in now and im feeling the hunger return. Im only 4cc's in a 10. I hear my GREEN maybe some where around the 5-7 mark. Keep us posted!

I lost 10lbs the first 2weeks after surgery mainly bcuz of the internal swelling and the ill effects immediately following the procedure. I jst cldnt think abt food. The 3rd week is when things began to subside. The heavy gas went away & i was at 3cc's and able to consume jst about anything i wanted. Until ur in the green zone & feeling some restriction u'll have to rely on the no carb 4oz meals calorie counting & exercise as ur weight loss regimen for now. Im at 4cc's now since 9/1. 11 days in and im no longer feeling the restriction anymore. My nurse tells me with my 10cc band my green zone maybe somewhere between 5-7. So i cant wait to begin seeing some REAL weightloss before the holidays get here...

My gas finally subsided somewhere around the 9th and 10th day. Once the internal swelling goes down around the 2nd week u'll be back to ur old self. Keep walking & I also found sitting out in the sun & heating pads helped.

Sooo true!! My new found confidence has become a magnet and helping my introvert personality transform into a lady ive never been before. I mean im flirting with guys in the fast good drive thru. Hoping this weightloss doesnt go to my head!!

Isnt he gorgeous! I melted lookn into his deep blue eyes! Im in houstons southwest area. I went to the clinic in the medical center for my first fill. I love the staff there. And yes i knooooow about the bread/carb thing but i cant help it! I know im suppose to be doin the no carb, 4oz meal, 3x a day but itll be easier when im more than 4cc's in this 10cc band!! I wish there was some way we cld adjust ourselves...now wldnt tht be detrimental?!? LMBO!!
