    and i am STARVING STILL!!! doc said to give it a week, but i know i am overeating, should i call tomorrow?
  2. my doc doesnt permit potato/pasta until 5 weeks post surgery they want to maximize weight loss in the beginning...im bummed and feel like after a while i might need some potato with these mushy recipes...
  3. i know im not supposed to lift them until 6 weeks...but it is getting harder and harder to find somoene to put my mkids to bed EVERYNIGHT and get them out EVERY morning, as dh work night sometimes...what did u guys do, did anyone lift b4 they were supposed to?

    my 2 y o and a 1 y o are both in cribs...1 y o is 25 lbs 2 y o is about 30...so im not sure...they still need help in their cribs..they help me do most other things...but nightime i dont want to teach them how to climb in ...then they will climb out,lol
  5. im on purees my doc said i can have chese without blending, so does that mean i can have the top of pizza>
  6. i am goin out on sunday to a gambling resort, and there is tons of food there, but what can i really eat on this pureed thing...im not supposed to have mashed pot....so really soup huh? that stinks...any other ideas?
  7. do u guys every get to enjoy fast food? i loved kfc and mcd's etc...will i ever be able to enjoy even a little bit...right now i am at my witd end..i am on week 3 of liquids and about to die,heheee.e..i feel SO DEPRIVED RIGHT NOW??
  8. how gross is pureed meat? i mean if i make tuna salad and puree it, what should i use to moisten it ff mayo? or do i need to add some sort of broth? sounds sooo gross to me, so iwas planning on sticking to cheese,etc...but i really want meat,,,,will it end up as applesause consistency or thicker?

    i mean the next stage of my diet is purees...with no starches...i do that for 1 week, then i go to lumpier foods, like fork mashed with still no starches like potatoes or rice,etc...then on my 6 week i can have all that...they did it to help get a big loss in the beginning...but im just paranoid that my first fill wont be enough for me...
  10. i am finishing my last week of liquids...it will have been 3 weeks...i am TERRIFIED to start even purees with no carbs b.c i am gonna gain weight back...is this crazy..i feel like it is...i have lost 18 lbs and am so glad but i am scared once i start my purees i will eat too much since i am not filled...oh dear im consumed with thinkin of this..i know they say it will come off...but is that after i get my fill or once my body adjusts to the new foods in the purees?
  11. i go on mushys next week...so i ahve 1 week full puree...then a transitional week, where things are chunkier or fork mashed...but still no starches...they want to maximize your weight loss b4 intro starch into diet again..i guess i can understand that...but i am bummed...any mushy recipes without starch?

  13. i go on purees for 1 week next week...so i am dying for food!!! but my question is im thinking that since i can get my fill for 3 more weeks,,,i will be hungry right? and i iwll be able to eat kinda normally right? well i am terrified about that...and my real food question is whaat is the proper portion for puree foods? do i still only eat 3 "melas" and a snack or something? i have lost 18 lbs in the past 2 weeks and am terrified to gain...my doc doesnt allow carbs until 5 weeks to maximize loss but im still scared...some input please!
  14. Kat..i dont eat fish..but i can blens chix and i do eat tuna...plus ground meat...so its ok...i just feel such a sense of anxiety...did u feel a big differnce after your first fill? im terrified that i will be starving without my fill..how did u feel b4 your fill?

So my doc clarified that when i can go on to pureed food...i cannot have starches...they want to maximize weight loss in the beginning...it seems that most other places do their stages differently...most of u have had mashed pot since the beginning it seems...i guess its good b.c i will shed some more weight...just trying to come up with other food ideas...my question is have any of you put tuna or chix salad in the blender? is that totally gross? Also, i do puree for a week, then the next week is a "transition" week where i still puree but add more texture..or fork mash things...after that stage i go to regular foods....i am scared that i will be starving b.c right now i feel hungry...and i know i can do nothing about it till my fill at my 6 week checkup...i feel like i will be one of those who lap band doesnt help...im paranoid...i feel like i couldnt possibly be NOT hungry, if that makes any sense...since i feel it now...please tell me that i will have the will to control my hunger b4 my fill, and tell me that my fill will restrict?!?!
  16. 1. I am petrified about when i can and my first fill...i hear that u can eat a lot...how r u guys dealing with that? How long in between fills if i am not feeling restricted? 2. on the mushy stage...can u put Pasta in the blender...for example..like chix noodle soup...or do i ahve to take out the pasta? 3. Since recovering and eating normal foods again...do u guys EVER have a fast food snack? i understand that u cant eat the whole burger, but do u guys ever enjoy a few fries or a bite of a cheeseburger? 4. I am sufferring from a mental withdrawal, like feeling like i will have to be deprived my whole life now? anyone else? I dont cook a lot...Do you guys ever go to a chain restaurant and feel okw ith it?

    Julie...see i am scared of gaining those 8lbs in between fills...why do u think u gained them? b.c u were eating too large portions, or what?

    getting worried

    my surgery was on 3/29..and the first few days is tough..and u dont want to eat...now i am hungry but the shake does help...i am on 3 WEEKS of liquids...no soups or anything...it SUCKS!!!! but i have lost 15lbs in a week! so i try to think of it that way...good luck, i am preparing my recipes for the mushy stage now!!!! oh yea and i go to bed very EARLY to deal sometimes...
  20. was banded on 3/29...i think i am paranoid, but its easier to drink now...im still on full liquids, but i can tolerate a lot more at a time...is this a sign of trouble or is this supposed to happen..i think its normal b.c its only supposed to restrict solids right??? i am terrified that it slipped, hehehee and i am having some major head hunger issues..i have to do a while 3 weeks of full liquids..not even soup, just broth...i am having a hard time here...anyone else had to do 3 weeks????:help: :think
  21. i am due to be on it for 3 weeks!!! i was banded on 3/29 and dont go for my first post op till april 18...isnt this a little long? should i call and ask doc...plus i didnt get the ok for any soups..only broth or pudding/yogurt:confused:
  22. i was banded on 3/39/07...so i am still on liquids as i am reading the threads i see a lot of u are eating or drinking more than i am...docs told me to only have water/tea/jello/fudgsicles/broth/...no pudding,soups,etx...i am so confused...should i call the doc and as if i can have these things..i have been dying!!!!!
  23. i have dermabond on my scars...and they look great...was banded on thurs...no red, starting to smooth down...but im not sure if its from me sweating but i have a slight odor....is this ok? i called the doc and she said as long as no red, or fluid just leave it,...any similar experiences,..also, anyone have trouble with a digital scale>? i wonder if i should get the old fashioned kind? seems like every time i get on it it says a different number..i seem to take the best of 3 heheee
