Dr Rehnke installed my band on June 25, 2013.....I drive 2 hours to get to his office but it is worth the drive.

The biggest problem I had immediately after surgery was pain when I tried to sleep on my side, I had severe back pain already so sleeping on my back has always been an issue, the swollen area on my stomach felt fluid filled and heavy for several days after surgery and that was a little uncomfortable but the pain was tolerable with a little liquid hydrocodone that my doc gave me.....I did have a little trouble breathing a few hours after surgery but they left me on the oxygen and sent a respiratory therapist in to see me every four hours and everything turned out fine. GOOD LUCK!!!

I had band surgery 6 weeks ago and my port area is still tender and a little swollen. The swelling and bruising was noticeable for several weeks (visually noticeable) and now its just a bit tender.
