  1. Wendy's chili has 21 carbs in it- my doctor always says, stay under the five percent rule. Like on box products, I have to look at the fat and carb count to make sure it's not over 5 percent. I love Wendy's chili- so what I'm asking is it ok to eat? I'm a newbie. 3 weeks out Help
  2. I have such a horrible problem with this. I either have Dannon light and fit Greek yogurt and put the pills in a spoonful to let it slide down, or I have my sugar free Jello with fat free whip cream on top ( just two table spoonfuls)),and put my pills in whip cream to let it slide down quickly. I hope this helps. After surgery, which was 3 weeks ago,I tried crushing and even breaking my pills into quarters, but I kept getting the horrible stuck feeling. Hope this helps! It saved me from a lot of throwing up.
  3. Hazel bliss, when you get a fill does the same effect happen? Thanks for explaining in such detail- it's soo much easier to understand! Thanks so very much
  4. Hi everyone, Is there something wrong with me? I have no appetite almost everyday. My doctor said, just drink fluids which I am, but I'm getting concerned because its been 3 weeks. My doctor said, enjoy the fact that your not so hungry, and he's a very reputable surgeon. My main concern is will my body going into starvation mode? I'm being honest,it's not like the pounds are melting off and that's what people keep telling me- be happy . I lost 19 and have 59 to go. Anyone else have this problem? I'm really concerned Thanks, Post Op Newbie
  5. I'm on mushies ,but every time I try to eat I feel like I'm going to throw up(stuck feeling). Or should I say, most times the food gets stuck. It's an awful feeling so I stick to my Protein shakes, sugar free Jello and plenty of Water. The Protein Shakes I can only digest when I'm "hungry" or concerned I'm going into starvation mode, but I'm not hungry and I don't want to force food down, but I don't want to slow down my weight loss. Ugh worried
  6. But, if the green zone is no hunger sweetie, why is the scale standing still.?I want to get under 200 already Thank you
  7. Wishing you all the best! Take it slow and listen to your doctors rules
  8. Hi everyone, My mom had bypass a few yrs ago and lost 80 pds but she needed to loose 120. She did put back on 35 because unfortunately she dealt with a lot of stress with my young cousin dying tragically, my uncle dying dying from cancer and finally her being diagnosed with cancer herself. Now that her oncologist said, she could go back to her WLS surgeon. He tells her he wants to perform this operation- put a band over her bypass. Did any of you ever hear of that? He swears its a great option! Has any of you had it or heard of someone who did? My moms been through so much so I don't want to jump on something we just "heard" of. Any help is appreciated
  9. Starting weight 238 PRE-OP diet lost 11 pounds And today I weighed in at... 210- I feel like dancing!! Ha Am I overreacting? Is this a good first loss from the lap band :/ What do I do next my fellow bandsters? exercise is limited to walking ugh
  10. I had surgery August 5th, and lost 11 pounds on my preop diet. I've come home following my doctors orders to a T with no deviation. I weighed 228 preop lost 11pds which brought me down to 217. Today, the scale finally said 216.1 pound in a week? Are we for real?? My doctor said even if you're not so hungry, drink your fluids but continue to get 50 grams of Protein in which I am too. Also, not to be tmi but I can't go to the bathroom. Lost soul ...
  11. I wrote this in another topic, but I wanted to say thank you to my fellow posters here. I went to my first post-op appointment on August 15th. You were right... I lost 7 pounds which brings me down 18 pounds.

    tell me about peanut butter

Which brand of peanut butter do you suggest? I'm not a fan of chunky
  14. The only person for me that knows is my mom. She's my best friend, and went through every diet with me. I think it's necessary to tell 1 person, in case you ever have a complication. BUT, make sure this person is someone that can take this secret to the grave!! However, we all have diverse opinions on this topic, and everyone must do what they feel is right in their heart. <3
  15. Hi everyone, My mom has gastric bypass a few yrs ago and lost 80 pds despite needing to loose 120. Unfortunately, after that my cousin died tragically in a accident, my uncle died from cancer and she was diagnosed with cancer. She has now put on 35 pounds after all these tragic events so after her oncologist gave her the green light, we went back to her WLS surgeon. He suggested the best option now is a lapband over her bypass. We never heard of it! Has anyone heard of it here? Experiences, results more importantly safety?? We appreciate your help! I just was banded so once I recover, I want to take care of her. Thanks so much
  16. Yeah, but I was hoping someone on here went through the journey. I want to be prepared for everything and these boards are a great outlet especially for me too, who just got her lapband.

  18. Stept04- I'm searching but unable to find anything? Am I doing anything wrong? Thanks everyone for your help because once I'm done healing from my lapband ,I want her to begin her next journey of success
  19. Hi everyone, I'm 3 days out and the pain isn't that bad, except when I sleep. My question here is my doctor NEVER discussed ever needing a port revision as a side effect- is this common? How does it happen, and how do you know u need a revision? Sorry for all these questions concerning this topic, but I'm perplexed by it all. Any generous help is appreciated!
  20. I was just banded on August 5th and can only tolerate liquids meanwhile my surgeon said, starting on the 6th I could start the mushy diet. However, about two hrs ago I was able to consume a tiny amount of yogurt, but it took an hr. its a whole new world which I was expecting but the severe tightness is incredible. One thing, I do have to ask is the day I came home surgery I weighed myself and I was 3.5 pds more, but i didn't eat anything in two days- is it the fluids and being swollen? Thanks
  21. Hi everyone, I'm a 31 female from NY who's been struggling with her weight since childhood. I've tried every diet you can name of. I'm sure we all can relate to it. However, now I have high blood pressure and I'm pre-diabetic, which scares me because my grandfather died from complications from diabetes. I'm so apprehensive because like all other "tools" or diets I've failed. Also, I've seen on here that a lot of people weren't full until they received their first adjustment. That is just too scary! I've lost 11 pounds on the liquid diet for the last 10 days. Basically, I'm asking what did you consume that had enough Protein that kept you full, and also assisted in your weightloss for the first 4-6 weeks? I can't imagine being able to drink my protein replacement shakes that are 8ounces and have 27grams of protein since, they say you can only sip 2 ounces at once. If you have any tips or foods you suggest, please advise, as I will be going shopping this weekend. Thanks from your, SCARED PREOP NEWBIE PS: I heard that sometimes food gets stuck and you should eat a scoop of butter? TRUE OR NOT? [sharedmedia=trackers:tickers:4417]
