Wow! You look great even after 50 lbs. You will now have tons of energy for your little kiddies! How are you feeling after being banded? I am scheduled for Sept 26.

I would definately put it in a blender. During the mushie stage, you dont want to be eating any kind of solid chunks.

It's not a UTI????
jennybean replied to Blayden2029's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I get the exact same thing when I am in ketosis. I googled it and could not find a relation. I went to my doctor as well and no UTI to my surprise. I thought maybe I had irritable bladder, but symptoms go away when I am not in ketosis. I always know when I am in ketosis because I feel like I have a UTI! Let me know if you find anything out, because I would love to know!! p.s. mine is off and on too....not consistantly sore but it is certainly there. -
If you chose NOT to tell about your LB, share your story please
jennybean replied to PuraVida37's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am not banded yet, but don't plan on telling too many people. I usually am very open, but in this case I am shameful about my weight and don't want to talk about it, I guess. Also, if I fail, I will look even worse in my mind. The thing is, I hate lying so this may be hard LOL. I think I will go with the high protien, low calorie and exercise line as it is really not a lie!! Like some others, I plan on saying it is a hernia operation or a problem with my stomach, again not really a lie. -
More becoming an "After" photos

Very nice! -
Also, yogurt, puddings, cream of wheat, oatmeal, smoothies made in a blender, scrambled eggs.

I am not banded yet, but how about applesauce or cottage cheese? Also, you can put anything in a blender and make it a mushie. How about your favorite soup? Mine is clam chowder....I would blend it until smooth.

Haha I am the same!! Can't sleep without my CPAP now - every little thing wakes me up. Love the last line - exactly what I thought! Sadly, I did not lose an ounce once starting the CPAP and have been using it for 4 years. Yes.....I need the band too! Also, yes the snorkel is not very sexy, but the alternative is snoring like an english bull dog.

Congrats! I am having mine on September 26....so we can be in bandster hell together!! Lets hope for a fast recovery! I am so happy to get the chance to finally gain control of my eating!! Eat to live not live to eat!!!!! -
When I lost 50 lbs in the past, I found people did not say too much. Not sure if they are trying to avoid offending or what the issue is. Weightloss is a touchy subject LOL. Congrats anyways...you definately can tell I bet!!

jennybean replied to 3-Sibe-Mom's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I am one month PRE-op still, but have read "buyers remorse" is very common and you will get over it! Good luck and cant wait to join you in one month! Hope you feel better soon! -

Congratulations! Hope you have a fast recovery! -
You know the feeling when you start a new diet (ie Atkins) and join a forum and tons of people are having great success? And you give it a go and barely lose five pounds? And you wonder what is wrong with you? I am worried that this is going to be the same old story Any others felt the same before surgery and suceeded with the lap band after trying every diet in the world?

They told me to bring mine, and I am not even staying the night. Maybe they use it when I am under anesthesia? Or maybe I need it just in case I need to spend the night?? My CPAP doctor told me it is very important it is working properly prior to surgery.

Hi, I am still waiting for my surgery, but I am sitting here wondering about the future. I just ate about 1 cup of greek yogurt for a mid morning snack (no breakfast) and still feel very hungry and still thinking about food. How do you feel after eating 1 cup of greek yogurt? Does this actually satisfy?

It may give side effects at first, but then taper off. I was ok with the depo shots for about 6 or 7 years. I switched to a regular IUD 6 years ago and love it. No medication or side effects and can come out any time.

I have a few years ago. The bad...caused my montlhy visitor to last about 3 months straight. The good......my montlhy visitor dissapeared completely for about 2.5 years. If you have any questions, I may be able to help.

Horrible candy craving!!!
jennybean replied to Kathy =^..^='s topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Also, there are supplements that help reduce sweet cravings....Google - How to stop Sweet Cravings on EHow. Chromium, magnesium, zinc and B vitamins may all help sweet cravings. -

Horrible candy craving!!!
jennybean replied to Kathy =^..^='s topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I wonder if you are missing some kind of nutrient that will cause a chocolate or sweet craving? Try searching on the internet and see if you can find any info that relates to your cravings. It may be that if you take the nutrient in a pill form, the cravings may go away. Just guessing here, but check it out. -
2nd Thoughts About Surgery
jennybean replied to RD86's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would definitely give it a real try first, if you have never really tried. If anything it will teach you how to eat normally/properly. Try Weight Watchers, it is easy and taught me a lot about food portions, choices, etc. -
2nd Thoughts About Surgery
jennybean replied to RD86's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I read that the feelings you are having are very normal. Also, afterwards there may be a buyers remorse feeling as well. Thankfully, I know that these feelings are normal and don't let them bother me. It's up to you. How many diets have you tried? I know I have tried them all and lost and gained far too many times and this time I am going to make it permanent! -
Hi, I am booked for Smart Shape as well. My surgery date is in September. Don't be nervous, it is a really nice clinic in Mississauga and My Family doctor (of almost 30 years) knows the Surgeon there and says he is great. I am sure you will like the clinic!
