Any VSG people in Hampton Roads?
Ms Wisdom replied to amy1981's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm looking to make a FB page of VSG people in Hampton Roads. I'm currently in a November sleevers group and I enjoy it very much. With 88 replies here in this group there (I know replies doesn't mean 88 different people) has to be a spot where all of us can get together since we are so close in distance. I attempted to make a page so I can give the information in this post, but they asked for who i'm adding....and i'm not sure if any of ya'll have the same name on there. So please, if you want to join a FB group of the same name please send me a private message. I intend to make the whole group 'secret' so the group doesn't show up at all. -

I used Dr. Terracina and what I found out with calling the scheduler is that I call her number after office hours. Never had a problem getting with Jennifer when I reached out this way. -

Not Losing Weight.

Check to see if your YMCA has a child watch. Mines does in Norfolk, Va and I must tell you that it's a lifesaver. Two hours a day and a Parent's night out which you can sign up for once a month where they stay from 6:30pm-9:30pm and you can leave the building and do things that you want to do. That's the reason that i'll be a Y member for life! -

I am so elated at this moment. This week has been so stressful. First I was upset because my last PCP visit was Oct. 8th and I felt that my scheduler was taking her time with sending in my paperwork. Then the paperwork was sent and the insurance lady didn't have it( come to find out her coworker had it). Then I was missing three reports so I was to the doctor's office myself which sent me to medical records and she faxed them, couldn't get a hold to confirm that yesterday so I had to call this morning, now she was missing one, So I called medical reords back and she sent over the missing report. Four hours later I had a message on my machine saying that I was approved, a letter was emailed to me, mailed to me and faxed to my scheduler. Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!! Okay, so now I was calling the scheduler. She wanted to put my on the docket Oct. 31st Halloween ha ha, but I couldnt do it that close because of work, so I settled on Nov. 5th. I ran to my job to explain to my boss face-toface that I had to be removed from the schedule and needed two weeks off. She had no problem giving it to me. I still had to get my gym in so I ran and caught a water areobics class (which kicked my tail) But i'm feeling alright. I am so excited right now. I told one girlfriend that we had to plan where I was going to have my 'last meal' but at this moment it doesn't even matter. What I found that was interesting is that even though I'm with the same surgery group my first surgeon wanted me to do a two week diet and my new one (which I might add is the Director of Baratric surgery at Bon Secours) only requires 1 day of clear liquids the day before doesn't even tell me to flush out (which i'm going to do anyway). Right now I feel like i've hit the lottery. Nothing is more important to me than to get myself healthly and I'm going to use this tool to the best of my ability to live a long healthly life. Oh! and I must add, i've been on these boards since March 2013......and it's finally great to post that it's going forward....lol November 5th....Here I come

I want to make sure I pass the deals along when I find them. Fruit drinks sale. The promo code is SUMMER20. (Ends 9-3-13) Also on your first order you and I can BOTH receive $20 if you put in my refer-a-friend code at the bottom. This way if you wanted to try something new but didn't want to spend the money then you don't have to. I myself bought some perdigested Protein samples to see if i'll be using them after surgery. And I myself would have loved for somebody to give me a code since my 8 bottles cost me $21.32 dollars. I would had only had to spend $1.32 ....ha ha...thats me....a sister that loves a deal. Well i'm just passing on the info. Hope you find it helpful. Will post what my order taste like when it arrives. Remember, your Refer-A-Friend Code is 8153068. Refer a friend by August 31st and you both get $20! More information.

Valtrex for Cold Sore

Tell your doctor to prescribe you Zovirax 5mg. It's a cream and if you rub it on your lips at first tingle it won't ever pop up. The best part is that you only need a little so I small tube will last you Forever (depending on how much you break out). My daughter uses it each time she gets a sore. Believe me......it'll be the best thing you ever gotten from the doc. -
Found out my Iron and Abumin is low
Ms Wisdom posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I talked to my surgery scheduler yesterday and she told me that the dietician is suppose to be calling me because i'm low in iron and albumin. I knew I was anemic in high school but didn't think about it much. She said that I would have to drink two protein shakes a day to bring it up and that I had to add an iron suppliment to bring my iron up. Since I haven't spoke to the dietician yet I searched around on the net to see how much iron I should be getting. I found out that a woman 19-50 should be getting 18mg a day (27mg if she's pregnant). It says that you should be taking no more than 45mg per day. I went to the store and picked up some iron. My bottle read that it was 65mg per tablet. I also picked up a multivitamin (since I had ran out) and that bottle said that it had 18mg in it. So my dilemma is should I just take the multivitamin or should I hold off and just take the iron by itself since I have to bring my iron up? I know i'll learn more talking to the dietician but I just want to put the question out there. There's no problem with me increasing my shakes because I already have protein at the house. I just want to bring my levels up so it won't delay my surgery. She said it takes about a month for your numbers to come up and i'll be sent for more labs then. As of now I think it's late September of early October (still have 3 more months of PCP visits for the insurance company). -

Is anyone fasting for Ramadan here?
Ms Wisdom replied to Aisha902's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sorry if the words are small. Typing from my phone. I'm fasting this year and even though I haven't had my surgery yet I still had to make adjustments for the season. I'm a new diabetic, but after having a talk with my doctor he said I can fast as long as my sugar doesn't fall below 90. I'm also take medications that MUST be taken at 12hr intervals so needless to say I ingest just enough Water to get the pills down. I'm holding on to feeding someone each day, God knows there's enough people out here that needs it. As for your Protein, I found some predigested protein that I'm about to try. It's only 1oz that gives you 18grams of protein. It's from www.dietdirect.com If you put yourself on a 'sipping' schedule from dusk til dawn you should be able to get all your water in during the night. Insha Allah. The best to you on your journey. Ramadan Mubarak!!
