I too have surgical glue so I'm hoping I don't have to wait much longer!! I completely forgot to ask at my post op appt last week!

SIGH..sad as I sit on the patio looking at my pool that I SO want to be in right now!! Hopefully I can get in soon. Had my band surgery July 25.

8 days post op and fortunately still not hungry...bad part? I can barely stand the idea of eating anything! I know I have to get my protein in but literally get nauseatingly sick to my stomach with first drink! I hate the taste and am not a huge fan of sweets to begin with! I have the unjury unflavored protein mix but boy do they lie about being unflavored!! Any suggestions out there? Maybe I should stick to cottage cheese and soup?

Are saltine crackers added to diet after mushies?

As I was reading your post I thought about my weight loss with weight watchers...I lost 104 lbs seven years ago through very hard work..I'm thinking now what a shame that those of us who do manage to lose aren't provided the option to have the band at that point to help KEEP it off! Of course I regained the weight and am starting from scratch again, but I'm praying the band is the one missing tool I didn't have then. ( and I in no way think this next weight loss journey won't be a lot of the same hard work!) I'm just so relieved to not be hungry!!

I was very swollen after too...you probably need to walk around the house every hour to help get the gas out. One week postop and I still feel somewhat bloated.

Thanks for all the great advice! I just moved on to phase two of diet today after post-op appt!! So excited to not have to rely on those shakes!! Chewing feels wonderful!! Disappointing news as far as first weigh ..only down 2 lbs since surgery on the 25th..8 total since pre-op diet started.

Fortunately blended cottage cheese is allowed for me.. I did have the premier protein shakes during preop and I guess I need to get some more..it's just that sweet thing again!! Thanks for the feedback!

I had second thoughts as well and they came during my preop diet. Just had to reminds self daily that this phase was temporary and that I was making the best choice for myself. Expect some grumpy days during preop diet! Good luck and hang on!!

Banded July 25...no stitches just surgical glue. Port site still sore...have had no hunger which is making it difficult to get daily protein in!! Also I'm a salt lover and am really sick of sweet drinks!!!!!

I got very very grumpy during my preop diet! Lol thankfully very supportive and loving hubby didn't take it personally! The grumpiness finally left about five days in.

I made my hubby hide the scale from me after first postop day as I weighed in 1.4 lbs higher! I'm working on changing my relationship with the scale.

I am 7 days post-op and have been having back pain..typically mid-back but last night my lower back also started hurting. Not sure if its from gas from surgery or from over compensating when walking as port incision area is still pretty sore.

Thanks...only one since surgery..taking colace and laxative but not much "moving"!

I am 7 days postop and have been having trouble with back pain. It was mostly in the center of my back but overnight and this morning it's also lower back! Had serious heartburn last night too..anybody else experiencing these things?!
