  1. So my surgery date was 8/15, I got 1.3cc during surgery, got my first fill last Tues...3cc so that brings me to a grand total of 4.3cc in my band. Not sure which band size I have. Worked out once last week, my weight has not budged for weeks, and I'm like !!!!!HUNGRY!!!!! I'm feeling like how I was feeling pre-band, always hungry. I'm feeling a little depressed, I can't even lie. My next fill is in about 3 weeks. (Sigh) I know I'm supposed to be watching what I eat but it's hard when I feel like I want to eat everything in sight. I'm feeling a little down now :-(
  2. I will call my surgeon this week as I didn't have a chance to do so today and see what he says
  3. Thank you for the suggestion PrettyThick1...I thought I had to wait until my next appt. I'll call reschedule for an earlier date.
  4. Sooooo...I had my procedure today! Yay! I was feeling soooooo sleepy after the procedure, the nurse said its bc of the meds. Anyways I asked the nurse if there was any dressings etc to change n she said no, the doctor used surgical glue. I've attached a pic, so u guys can see. Now I have the infamous gas pain in my shoulder! I'm using a heating pad, I still feel swollen so I am going to walk around the house n drink some hot green tea. Any other suggestions?
  5. Thanks for tip about the gas aug13hereIcome. My surgical glue is still on all if my incisions but it does look like its starting to thin out on one of the incisions. My surgery was two days after yours and as of today (4 days post op) the glue is still there, not peeling off yet. My first post op appt is today so I will see what the doc has to say. I swear by the warm/mildly hot shower...it's makes me feel so much better and relaxed :-)
  6. CONGRATULATIONS PrettyThick1!!!!!! I was also on phentermine for quite some time....I mean for a couple of years (off/on) and never obtained optimum success that I hoped i would with it! So I am glad to hear of your triumph with the band and stories like yours really inspire me! Keep up the great work!

  10. Thanks Lolo86 for responding....I've been walking around like there is no tomorrow! Lol...its helping a lot with the gas. I wish u n I a speedy recovery!
  11. Hi guys, So I'm a newbie here, my surgery date is this Thursday 8/15 (God willing) and surgeon's nurse called me yesterday to advise me that I should be on the Clear liquids only and no longer on the slim fast/protein shake diet!!!!! Now I know most of this is all mental but I am gonna need a little bit more than willpower to pull this off. Due to the fact that I haven't loss much during the Protein shake phase of my protein diet (b/c I deviated from the program quite a bit) but I have been walking in the mornings when I can, so now I gotta put the pedal to the metal. Basically all my "menu" items consist of till Thursday are unsweetened tea, Jello, veg/chick/beef broth, SF popsicles and Gatorade. Can I get some suggestions on how I can make it through without falling off the plan??????
  12. Final Weightloss on pre op (Protein shakes then clear liquids introduced on 8/9) before my surgery today is 10lbs. I'll take it lol :-) Getting myself ready! Have a wonderful and blessed day :-)
  13. So I wanted to update my fellow BAND-mates that my surgery is scheduled for tomorrow and just got the call from the doctor's office to confirm my surgery! I am a ball of emotions; I'm feeling stressed, I'm feeling excited to embark on this new chapter of my life, I'm definitely anxious and nervous. I think that's enough emotions for now....lol. So....as far as my progress on this clear liquids diet goes...I'll say that I've made great progress! I'm down 8lbs, been working out every morning for about 45-50mins just doing cardio at the gym. The doctor's nurse asked how much I lost and i told her, she said that was great :-D The hunger has become very tolerable for me as my cravings were mostly mental. I know it's cliche to say but really you will never know your strength until you push yourself. Thank u guys for your responses. It helped a lot!
  14. I definitely will keep you guys posted on my results :-) congratulations on your weight loss...I look to people like you as inspiration! I'm starting with a bmi of 45 but know that it won't stay that way.
  15. Thanks gowalking for the words of wisdom. I actually had to self-reflect and thought the same thing...I thought if I can't keep to this diet who's to say that I would keep to it when in banded ???ž. I will definitely stick to this for the next few days until the surgery. I cannot afford not to! Thanks for responding!
  16. Thanks imonemailn, those are some great suggestions that I'll look into....especially the crystal light. I believe the dietary restrictions are definitely based bmi. I've been a yo-yo dieter for as long as I can remember...most recently I had lost like 30lbs and kept it off for a couple of months and gained back like 40 :-(

August 14 is my surgery date

Reneegerbs my surgery date is Aug 15th! At first I was jumping up and down due to the excitement of what this means for my health and not to mention the fact how life changing this is! I could not sleep either, I have so many emotions ranging from fear, to anxiety, to fear! I'm just a ball of emotions. I haven't found anything that can help calm me. Sometimes I listen to music at night like Kenny G.! One of my faves.
