That should be sufficient.

I had already lost most of my wt by the time I reached green. I get the impression that there are those on this board that believe they shouldn't stat losing til the hit green. Boy would I be behind if I had waited.

I had my surgery on Friday and was back at work on Monday. My husband took Friday to provide me transportation, but other than that I didn't really need him.

You'll get back to normal, give yourself time. Are you getting plenty of protein?

Here we go. Good luck and it'll be great. Keep us posted.

I am CONFUSED ! Help needed..
SandyM replied to sahiba.chahal's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Looks like your BMI is below 30 if just barely. I believe any of the surgeries will help you. You're young and probably will have a lot of energy once you get motivated and start getting a pattern established. Do your research and decide which works best for you. Will insurance be paying for it. If so, you'll need to find out what they cover. -
Help! How do I stop the cycle of binging?! :(
SandyM replied to Quasar's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Stop over thinking it. We all crave and most of us occasionally if not frequently step out of the lines. As stated above, keep the trigger foods out of the house. If your husband is supportive he will allow you to purchase Snacks for him that don't call out to you and sabotage you. As with any kind of addiction, if you don't have the 1st, you don't have to worry about the 2nd or 3rd. Sometimes I find myself doing so well, I reward myself with food. This is a major no no. If I can stay off the scales, I break this pattern.I also find myself punishing myself (with food) if I do bad. I kind of want to "throw I the towel". This is also self defeating. As for your fills, how do you know you will receive 1.5 fill or even need or could tolerate that much of a fill. Live for today, tomorrow will take care of itself. Stop overthinking and get a game plan and some short teerm goals that you can actually achieve. You'll get there. -
I hit a great sale at Kmart today. Seems like everything in the store was on sale. Season getting ready to change and lots of sales going on.

Hit a stall 3 wks out. GRRRRR!
SandyM replied to mi75's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I haven't read the whole thread, so this might have already been mentioned. What I did when I stalled was the 5:2 diet. Go to YouTube and look it up. It's really very helpful. Now that I've reached goal, I use the 5:2 to help me maintain my weight. -
I've found that even if I give In to the cravings it doesn't taste as good as it use too. I usually walk away disappointed on several different levels.

I've already got my life back, couldn't ask for more.

Sleep disorder other concerns
SandyM replied to tomeof's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was never diagnosed with sleep apnea but if it walks like a duck it's a duck. I snored and woke myself up gasping for air. Hubby said he'd lay and watch waiting for me to take a breath. My family commented about my snoring all the time. Since losing wt hubby says I don't snore anymore. I sleep like a baby. -

Protein Powders for extra protein?
SandyM replied to kpurdy68's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Protein was important before you were banded and will always be important. It helps in healing, clotting, building and maintaining muscle, and will help you stay fuller longer in your journey. You will muscle waste as you diet and need the protein to help ward this off. -
Four month band anniversary!
SandyM replied to CTJohn's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Way to go jJohn. Good to see it's working for you. -
I just have to believe that this is not band related and timing is coincidental. No way are you gaining actual wt at that rate.

I would never take a pill if I didn't know exactly what it was. And I think it might even be illegal for a pharmacy to give you a bottle of pills without more description of the contents.

5:2 diet is 500 calories 2 non consecutive days of the week while still maintaining a healthy diet the other 5. I only count calories on the 2 days.

How has your husband/wife/SO fared during your WLS journey?
SandyM replied to MrsSugarbabe's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Hubby has lost over 42 lbs since my WLS. He's smaller than I've ever seen him, weighing 160. I'm so proud of him. We use to sabotage each other, sometimes deliberately, but usually not. But now, both being at our goals, we keep each other propped up. Hubby likes to say we got a two-for-1 surgery. -
Starting from scratch... But with a WAY better attitude this time!
SandyM replied to BandedInBama's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
I do it different than most instructions say. I have a small amt calories at lunch (like a Greek yogurt) and the rest at dinner. I've done it 2 weeks and lost 3 lbs. I had plateaued for 2 months prior to this and it broke the plateau. I really did it more for maintenance than anything. -
So, when people post lots of selfies of themselves in sexy poses and sexy clothes and say, I think I'm still fat even though everybody tells me I'm not, do they really feel fat? I don't think so. I think they need a pat on the back. Come on ladies, just post your pics and say very loudly......"Look at what I've accomplished". Nobody is going to slam you for it. After all, you've managed to accomplish what we all are working for. I think you know you look good, but need to hear it from others.

I have had nothing but good luck with my band. I've reached goal and am still losing. I don't think the other surgeries are bad, just didn't want anything so drastic. My surgeon said that the problem I had with reflux would only get worse with sleeve.
