When will I sleep on my side again?? ugh..
SandyM replied to unbroken40's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've been sleeping on my side since the beginning. Guess it just depends on you. If you try it and its uncomfortable, dont do it, otherwise it shouldnt hurt. -
how much was your fill?
-
Woohoo!!!! Welcome.
-
Absolutely. You are doing great
-
Lol. I just read this thread to hubby. He didn't have too much to say. And we had just gotten through watching on the news about a 70 year old woman trying to hire a hit on her daughter inlaw.

Went for 1st fill, but dr. tried twice to find port...no fill

I had to have unfill on day 3. It was pretty uncomfortable, but it made me appreciate normal fills. My doc has no probs with mine. No numbing but a little sting -
Just remember to stay away from bad carbs in the evening especially. They store to fat quickly
-
Me too. I'm finding that if I drink constantly it helps. I plan for a protein shake every evening.

You have all of the tools you developed to lose the weight in the first place. Good luck.

I have inlaws like this and I refuse to let them get to me. I'm doing this for me and if they choose not to acknowledge my weight loss I don't really worry about it. Just keep enjoying the ability to shop for regular sizes and the compliments I'm sure you get from others.

I was having a slow down and my doctor suggested upping my calories and said I wasnt taking in enough calories. I realized that wasnt the whole problem when I reviewed my journal ( I also use myfitnesspal). I have dropped myself to 20-25 gm of carbs and so far it has jumpstarted me. The important thing to remember is that all calories are not even. Simple carbs or bad carbs will make you crave. Good carbs like vegetables won't. Protein first then carbs (and try to get the good ones) and you'll probably see your body start reacting. Some people do it without exercise, but I couldn't. Its easy for me to make excuses, but once I get into the habit of exercising, I feel guilty if I dont do it. Keep us posed with your progress, visit the site often and you'll get plenty of support, exercise and drink plenty of fluids. A good healthy weight loss is 1 to 2 lbs per week and though it'll go slowly, you'l be grateful that it did in the end.

NSV: the one day clothes
SandyM replied to readysetg070113's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congratulations. I'm happy for you. I need to clean out my closet. -
Yeah. Yuk. And it feels horrible.

hiccups, now that is the sign that I am full. I hear that from alot of folks. As for eating, are you alrady on solid foods. I was liquids for 2 weeks. Your lack of hunger is likely cuz of your swelling, gives you a false sense of what people here call restriction. It'll take probably several weeks before your band settles in and all of the swelling is gone and you'll know how much restriction you actually have. Probably not alot until you start getting fills. Stay hydrated and try to get your proteins. At least thats what I think.

I've only had sticks in the evening. After that happens I'm done. I resume my routine next day

I know when I had mine I felt like I got run over by a mack truck. I don't know why, I usually do surgeries ok. I had buyers remorse for 2 days. Now I'm just glad its over. You guys will do great. As for the gas/shoulder pains gas x strips work great for that. That and walking.
-
Or you could just have chocolate protein shakes. I agree with the "eat sugar, crave sugar" thing. Thats me. If I stay away from it I'm better. You don't want to sabatoge yourself with chocolate and its also a slider food and will not satisfy your hunger.
-
You still probably have alot of swelling. Some say it takes a week or 2 to feel the real effects of a fill. Give it some more time. I'm guessing you are supposed to have real foods tomorrow. Be careful so you don't have stuck episodes with that.
-
Have you already had your initial visit with WLS? If so, what was your BMI? Also, are they going to do sleep study?

Mid is right. My ins didn't consider sleep apnea high cholesterol or blood pressure co morbiditiws. It varies insurance to insurance

Miralax in morning cup of coffee. Not every day, just when I need it. This a very common problem and you just have to try different things til you find out what works for you.

Drop the 40 lbs goal and set yourself some small bur reachable goals. You'll get to the 40 before you know it. As for the exercise, now is a good time to get out and walk.
